^ where do you want me to upload them to? The 10 clips I have total about ~80mb.
I retested st.MK xx MK.cd and it is definitely -9 on block, and nothing was changed. For some reason I thought MK.cd got faster, but it was only because my video player couldn’t handle like 100mb per sec worth of frames.
Damn I need to apply for some online storage. I don’t really have anywhere you can upload them to using an account, so it’s fine… don’t worry I will try it out when I get home later to see for myself! Thanks either way.
Thanks! I downloaded all of them except ex nb jump.avi and ex nb un.avi, says I don’t have permission to download. You really know your stuff, I didn’t know you analyze the frame data on such a deep level, i’m still a noob lol.
lol talking with popoloz at season beatings about the bison match-up and he agrees with me. u just sit back in the corner and die slowly. but this is against someone like Happy Medicine
Happy Medicine is god like though, I play with him a lot for extended periods of time so he knows Ibuki like it’s his secondary character. That guy will simply not lose to an Ibuki player. I personally think he’s one, if not the best Bison in the US. I’ve played against a lot of Bisons (pro and not) and no one can run a train on me like that guy. 9-1 in Bison’s Favor with him playing.
Have you guys ever played against a top Ryu who also happens to know almost perfectly Ibuki?
I got raped yesterday by Starnab (one of the Frenchies who went to EVO 2k11, and probable France’s #1) during a ranking at a local arcade game center (had never played on an arcade with Ibuki before, and I wasn’t expecting it to be that different from my TE stick… but well, half of my execs were shit, I missed some SJCancels out of TC4 and other stuff I am usually comfortable with -__- ). I was kinda confident, according to the fact that Ryu is probably one of the matchups I really know, but… he happened to know Ibuki very well, and rushed me before I could start doing anything. So after a first round getting perfect’d (lol), I tried a bit more afterwards. And that’s when I realized that it is extremely difficult to approach a Ryu who can maintain you to a safe distance (ie. none of my pokes land). Only solution left there was to mind him imho, so I oculd take him 75% of his life after my first untechable knockdown with EX neckbreaker, and TEH unblockable (thanks Mingo, it was the first time I’d ever used that in match conditions \o/ ).
Anyway, out of this match I just realized how hard it is to approach a good, stable, and not turtling Ryu if not by minding his Hadokens. (problem was, he was also aware of what I could do so kept long-range hadokens and stopped it when I got a bit closer. So… basically except a stupid SJ cross up I didn’t have any idea on what should I do there). We played a bit later, and I understood his strategy: trying to get a little bit oc, even chip, damage, and then he was just waiting for me. And when that happened (which is at every round we played, sue me ), I couldn’t do anything, his defense is gdlk. In a more global way, I do realize that it is very hard to play against somebody who really knows Ibuki. For now, almost all of my victories, even against top-level players, happened thanks to the fact that my opponent doesn’t know that much my character so I can surprise him.
So, how would you experienced Ibuki players react to that? Would you wait? attack? mind?
This problem isn’t specific with the Ryu matchup. I think it’s pretty common knowledge now that Ibuki simply lacks tools to open her opponent up, especially when your opponent knows how to play solid, or plays a solid character, or both.
You react to that by going back to basics: playing footsies 101.
oh hey dude i dont know if u remember me im the guy from the same state as him, i had the glasses and curly hair. i still cant believe that guy thought he was good cause he used yun rofl. and mingo look up happy medicine from the last couple of tournaments. jakob is easily top bison in america and he does make that match-up feel like 9.5-.5 lol
and mingo is right on that ryu part damarcus, u have to try to out footsie a great ryu player. its the only way. f. lk is your friend and taking your time.
Hi guys, can you help me with getting out of a frame trap? Now, I know this may not be match up specific but Cody does have some nice frame traps, so who knows. Two weeks ago at a local tournament, I was bodied by a Cody player who frame-trapped me to death. I didn’t even see it coming, by the time I realized the pushing buttons was what was killing me, he chipped me out. I tried ex kazegiri and option select throw and neither of these worked. Is there any strategy against this?
Depends on the frame trap, and exactly how big the gap is. Also depends on spacing.
The general strategy to counter frame traps is to block. If the frame trap is large enough (ie: there is a big gap) then you may be able to throw him out of his own setup (stand tech, to be safe ofc). If the frame trap does not allow for an option select, you may be able to backdash out. Invincible reversals should always blow through every kind of frame trap. If that didn’t work, then that means you got baited. Spacing complicates this, especially if your opponent has a kara throw (eg: Ken, Claw) or simply has a really fucking far throw range (eg: Gief, Rose).
Hi guys!!
I just wanna say that I had improved a lot my match up agaisnt Dictator. (Thanks Mingo for those advices!!)
I try to play safe against him, blocking his scissor kicks and his pokes and punishing his floaty jump with ibuki´s air throw (very easy to do); also teleport with neckbreaker. I found really important don´t get nuts, and wait for our opportunity to jump-in and land a big damaging/stun combo. If he goes for the head press/somer assault, ibuki slide it´s really good to avoid the pressure and run away of it, and giving you an opportunity to open his defence.
I know that I didn´t discovered nothing important about bison´s match-up, but these bread&butter tips helped me a lot.
Sorry for my english :S
