Why do you only come on the Ibuki forums to bitch?
^ Go play Yun.
Try getting good at this game before bitching.
Guys, what do you think are Ibuki’s Top 4 worst Match-ups in AE?
Fei, Yun, Yang, Bipson.
Worthy mention: Boxer, Gief
<3 I really hate to do this my Ibuki friends <3 I love you guys but…
Mingo thinks he knows what he’s talking about/thinks hes some admirable player or something so…
LOL.
Dude, its people like you that are destroying the competitive community. Scrubs that “think” they are good/know what they are talking about/are decent but in reality just suck. Reading srk forums, watching youtube videos, placing crappy in events, making threads, talking to random people on SRK etc does not mean you’re a good player. You’re better than me at a game that sucks and is mashy/scrub friendly and i do not play seriously anymore. Good job. When did you start playing SF? Maybe Vanilla? Stop talking. I sold my ps3 to buy a ps2. I’m slowly losing interest in competitive gaming because mvc2, cvs2, etc are close to dead and these new games blow. I gave up caring about SF4 competitively as soon as i realized how shitty SSF4 was compared to SF4 in terms of balance. I wanted to play Marvel 3 but that game sucked too. Also, these new gen systems are not built to last while the SNES, Sega Genesis, PS2, N64, ETC will last pretty far into my life time. My PS3 has had TWO YLOD’s and im sure my xbox will have a RROD soon. System is built to fuck up.
Notice how i rarely post on the Ibuki boards anymore? I gave up. This games ass. lol. Lets all hit the auto pilot button, mash srks to stop dive kicks, mash safe rekkas, and play guessing games as gief and Viper to HOPE for a 50-50 chance to get a knockdown. Horrible.
I play it for FUN because that is what video games are meant to be…fun. Especially, this new age of fighting games. This stuff is getting less and less competitive as time goes on. They are still fun as heck though. I have so much fun playing mvc3 and coming up with all sorts of cool combos/creativity but i will never put money on that crap. I can’t count how many times i destroy someone but then they activate x factor w phoenix, wesker, or some other top tier and get two combos on me less than 8 hits or some crap and win. Or better yet mash CR L as phoenix in X Factor. LOL, WTF is that crap? So all my 80+ hit combos mean nothing? GG’s Capcom. Notice how FAST fighting games are coming out? SF4-Tekken 6-SSF4-MVC3-AE-Tekken Tag 2-HDR-SF X Tekken-Tekken X SF-Arcana Heart 3-Blaz Blue CS-Third Strike Online.
There is absolutely 100% no reason to dig deep into fighting games anymore because games become obsolete so fast now. Look at mvc3 for a quick reference. MVC2=10 years. MVC3=MAYBE 2. LOL. And look at SSF4= Dead game.
I am ten times smarter than you when it comes to video game knowledge and knowing what I am talking about. I own pretty much every single fighter you can think of on the top of your head along with every system since your birth and know more about any of them than you.
The difference between this new age bullshit “broken easy mode” crap is that its EASY now. Try playing Yun in Third Strike, Magneto in MVC2, Ken in CVS2 and tell me how well you do. You can squeeze away random lucky wins in these new fighting games all the time…X Factor in MVC3 and these new random ultras in SSF4 and AE are stupid.too. ALL of the ULTRAS IN SF4 VANILLA were all too slow to be used randomly. You couldnt just throw on rufus u2, abel u2, guile u2, bison u2, rose u2, seth u2 for random chip kills, and all this random crap. Look at oni. lol. friggin random ex cross up possibility to ultra? GUESS which way to block due to spacing and if you’re wrong free ultra? RANDOM. The only people in SF4 who could throw on ultras whenever they felt like it were Sim, Blanka and MAYBE Akuma. And lets not forget damage scaling was nearly nothing. You compare the damage from AE to SF4 Vanilla and your jaw will drop. EVERY single character was viable aside from Dan…even against Sagat.
AE sucks and you know it. You just keep trying to think its a great game because it has the title of “Street Fighter” in it. I used to do the same thing too, its cool man.
tl,dr but I doubt your post has anything to do with “Ibuki Strategy and Matchups.”
If you want to bitch, go back to smashboards. Oh wait, you’re banned aren’t you?
Dont Jump, what you say might be true, but there really is nothing to gain going to an SSFIV board and saying why it sucks. If you did happen to convince us otherwise, you’d only be damaging CAPCOM. I love CVS2 also, heck, I’d even owned the original Street Fighter (the very first) cabinet when I was a small child, but I never played any 2D fighterproperly until SSFIV. This is because it is “scrubby”, it allows me to play with just about anyone and still have close matches.
It’s not 3rd Strike, it’s not going to breed another Kuroda, but it’s good for it’s own reasons. However, if you wish to play a of true skill, Virtua Fighter 2/4 EVO, then you’ll see why I prefer a game that’s a little bit more “scrubby”. You wouldn’t even touch my character.
Can we get a ban for the troll?? Like really!!
anyway
I disagree I would say Yun, Yang, Rufus, Makato, Ken, and Zangief. Bison and Boxer are more manageable now imo
I just had a long set with IFC Zangief where I lost 12-6, but tbh this match mostly boils down to yomi and keeping Gief out which Ibuki can do. Here are 2 videos

Capcom used to be a solid video game company man. Looking at the roster of MVC3 really just made me cry. It’s nothing but advertising for their upcomming movies/games and they did not listen AT ALL to what the fans wanted or what SHOULD have been in that game. Not to mention the control scheme and X Factor SCREAMED “SCRUB” There lack of inability to listen to what fans wanted in MVC3, horrible adjustments for AE/SSF4, horrible new character additions for AE that were lazy and horrible, (Evil Ryu, Oni, Yang, Yun and NO TRIALS) etc really don’t lead me to support them anymore. Third Strike or any old game they re release and do not touch will be the only things i support now.
See your pms, cause i was just about to blow you up.
One thing I think we all agree on is that we don’t like X-Factor or the Revenge Meter. Comeback mechanics aren’t all that fun, but I respect every other change they gave to Street Fighter (since 2) in 4. It’s just a different sort of fun.
SFxT won’t have any comback mechanics, perhaps that’ll keep you interested.
Maybe Ken, but I don’t think he is scary enough to warrant being as bad a matchup as 4-6. Makoto definitely not. She might have a buffed rushdown, but zoning her out stays the same. Same thing with Rufus, and Gief.
Ken/Makoto/Gief are 4.5 - 5.5 matchups at worst imo. And Gief I’d argue that it’s even 5-5. Ibuki still gots cr.MP and slide footsies tools, EX hien to get out of corner, and she’s one of the few characters that can (relatively) safely okizeme Gief. And her backdash isn’t the easiest for Gief to option select against.
I go by:
- do they have a good rushdown or pressure game?
- can they get in easily or can they also pressure midrange (eg: footsies)?
If one of these criteria isn’t fulfilled, then the matchup isn’t that bad imo. By this I mean 4-6 or worse.
4.5 - 5.5 is hard but definitely doable, by my WC3 standards anyways. 4-6 is close to impossible unless you are clearly better than your opponent.
I do think Ken wins the match, but noi significantly enough. It’s like Abel now, he no longer decisively wins the Second Match because of how likely it is to punish his EX Rolls now.
EX Roll was always easily punishable with option select throw (or U1 if you really wanna drive the point home) during okizeme, or reaction throw at midscreen.
Actually I can’t think of anytime EX roll was ever a problem, compared to EX TT.
I can’t believe people are still crying about Ultras.
Anybody find an answer for Yun’s wakeup? It appears that he can get out of vortex for free via upkicks. So far I only know of the b+MP safe jump.
I’m not complaining about Ultras, I said Revenge Meter. The idea of getting the ability to deal so much more damage (and opening up/shutting down options) for getting hit is a comeback mechanic. Just like Tekken 6’s rage-system.
Just played against an AMAZING Adon player who kept blocking my safe-jumps/never back-dashing. Anyone might know why cr.HP isn’t working against Jaguar Kicks? Did they buff it?
Are you getting counterhit or stuffed?
Nothing haha, it appears the Jaguar Kick went higher than it did in super, it went over me.
I should show you the match actually, haha
