I thought someone said Breathless had 8 or so frames of startup? What’s stopping someone from safe jumping, then just jumping on reaction to U2? Honest question, since I haven’t looked into the move properties myself yet.
Well, I mean activating U2 during her TKCS, would she be able to DP out of it? Example: Ryu/Ken/Akuma jump in roundhouse on wakeup, you activate U2, they mash out DP and punish you. Can Cammy (and Sagat, etc.) do the same with TKCS -> mash DP? The only difference is that Cammy’s is 5-frames… but does that matter? U2 will catch safe jumps, but not this crap @_@
I don’t know how hard it is, but the times I’ve played my Ken friend (JoontheBaboon) with U2, he’s done it to me. Same with my friend who plays Akuma. Just sayinnn =p
edit: it beats safe jump because the armor causes some delay for your opponent to DP.
Just for the record…doing df, df, K is not a DP shortcut. A lot of people say it is, but they are mistaken. What you are actually doing when you try to do that DP shortcut is df, d, df, K…and that is a real shortcut for the DP motion.
Dunno if this is known but you can use ex armor cancel with CoD and Breathless so you can absorb 2 hits instead of one.

If you mash df, and nothing but just df, and press a punch, you WILL get a Dragon punch
Seeing as there isn’t much input vs. Guy in this thread, and the fact I spent a good two hours aganist a friend who’s decent with him, here’s some stuff I took note of and later tested.
-When you have U2 ready, Guy’s run is useless. The slide eats armor and gets grabbed, the stop is too slow jump after and gets grabbed and the overhead when it’s coming to you either gets one hit or whiffs and gets grabbed. I even tried doing the stop from the other side of the screen at the earliest point and he STILL got grabbed. There is a trick where if you do it on reaction he can overhead early and go over your head to punish…but you can of just hold it anyway.
-All of his elbows seem completely safe. Couldn’t stand short, couldn’t LP Cod , couldn’t U2 them, nothing.
-One of his jump ins, I believe j. mk, the Final Fight cross up kick, has a REALLY weird hit box or something because I was able to get the second hit of AA cr. fp very easily aganist it. Could of also been Guy’s floatlyish jump taken into account as well.
AWESOME BRO, BUT IF YOU WILDLY MASH DOWN + FORWARD, OR EVEN JUST THE DOWNFORWARD DIRECTION YOU’LL GET A DRAGON PUNCH EVERY TIME.
PRETTY SICK HUH?

Im sure because the inputs on the left of the screen tell me so. Plus the fact that I used a program pad might have something to do with it also. You dont even need the ppad, do it by hand its not hard. I did it way before I got the pad back when it was supposedly “tested and proven”.
I always try everything that I read on here myself, I dont just assume its right because someone else said so. On that note try it yourself just input df,df,df+p and you will get a DP. Now IIRC the guy tested on the pc version, I had/have the Ps3 version so possibly its different.
I also recall the guy NOT mashing df in his test. Either way its not a big deal to me. You can believe whatever you want it wont change anything.
well true, if you read the prev post, the person just said its not “df, df”.
from your post, its at least df, df, df… meaning the “any forward, any down, any forward” thing is true(this shortcut thing was AGES ago so i might forgot some stuff). whatever though, this thread aint where discussion about shortcuts supposed to be done anyway. sorry hav for derailing
God’s Garden with Super, currently KSK playing Abel. I must say, when the hell did KSK get so good at this game? He’s playing like a mini Shiro.
aww crap why you gotta post that link when im goin to bed already lol its 340am here…
mago be using feilong, beasting
its nice seeing ksk and tokido??) commentating, talking about the game. tokido’s reading the technical guide for frame data and shit…
too bad i gotta crash already
Here are some things sort of new for Abel. He could do this to only to a few in SF4 after a L.Roll, and only w/ n.j at that.
Now, in SSFIV if you manage to land a crouching fierce, you can hit what seems like the majority of the cast w/ a j.fw+lp. for a 50/50 reset if you jump immediately. One or Two of them you can land a Mk :wow:
If you cancel the cr. Fierce juggle w/ a L.Roll you can reset them w/ either n.j / j.fw / j.bk + lp / lk / mk depending on what character you are fighting.
I havent tried this vs live competion yet as I dont want to update my fat ps3. I got a slim on the way though so I’ll be able to see if this is nothing but gimmicky bs. Some of them look like they’ll be pretty useful.
For Example vs Guile and Balrog you can cr.fp-l.roll-j.fw+mk and it will cross over. I dont know if they have enough time to charge a reversal. Looks close.
hey is there online guide on how to nail his m.k dash crouching fierce im having the hardest time linking this
He can’t link that. Only standing fierce.
ok ,anyone got a tutorial on that?
No tutorial, just gotta practice the timing.
Any advice on the guy matchup? I find it hard once he starts to gain momentum.
matter of fact he can. on counter hit only.
roll if he leaves the ground at anytime, his jump is so floaty you got a free escape, but his block string pressure is pretty tough, try a few EX TT to deter him from attacking.then once you have him trained to bait TT roll away.also use breathless
