The biggest change in feel I’ve noticed is that I keep fucking up combos after a jump-in… that’s about it so far. This is otherwise exactly the same game as regular SF4 with just a few slight changes to make it slightly more offense-oriented

I see I’m not the only person to have this problem. Comboing a cr. mp after a crossup seems tighter then it was before…maybe they reduced the frames on it? I can still get F+MK easily, just not cr. strong.
Can’t breathless anyone that jumps behind you or has any move that changes jump trajectories.
The point is to do the move to provide an obvious escape, and that counter that obvious escape.
The Juri matchup feels…nasty I suppose.
Granted, I’ve only 10 matches with her so far, but I hate having to try to catch her.
Is it just me or can Abel FS her homing kick or whatever on reaction?
If Breathless is invincible against throws this means Gouken can’t use his demon flip at all when we have ultra.
maybe this will make this match-up go from 6-4 to 6.5-3.5 or even easier.
so just got the game for less than 30 mins, finished all of abels level 1 trial… stuff i discovered…
combod a meaty j.lp into super (not sure its possible in sf4)
j.mp kinda good to do a fake air attack into whatever move on the ground because of the hit box - meaty j.lp/hp will hit if they just stay there while j.mp will whiff (another one thats proly true in sf4 too but i think it has potential to be used in a match) - of course the downside of this is that free reversald?
counter f.mk cr.hp IS MAD EASY… this is seriously too fuckin easy in this game, i guess this add some points for U1

j.lp, super is possible in SF4, although not very useful lol… at least it didn’t get taken away - means theres still a decent frame advantage window on j.lp

So is there actually any way to escape from Breathless if it’s spaced properly? Obviously shotos can just tatsu but characters with armor breakers the have no range or are slow are gonna be pretty screwed aren’t they? I’m thinking unless Makoto has ex so she can do an armor breaking axe kick she’s gonna be screwed.

I like the way Abel feels, which is relatively the same. c.lk, close s.hp is great since not only does it give him a low option into a combo, but it also gives people even more incentive to not try and jump away when you’re applying pressure.
Breathless will be preferred ultra in certain match ups imo. Was playing against Boxer and punished a whiffed jab from 3/4 screen with it. Wee. Match ups where it’s more difficult to land a clean hit into a combo (ie: vs. Boxer, Akuma, Zangief), Breathless seems like it might be the answer since it limits some of their options. Soulless I think is still the way to go vs. Ryu, Sim, and other characters that he can get on.
CH f+mk~dash, c.hp feels easier than it was in vanilla? I didn’t notice. Wheel Kick feels different and the same all at once.
I think there is actually more hitstun on jump ins now, or more landing frames. can’t really tell… I just keep missing my followups so nothing will come out after say a j.fp. already used to it now I think though

- hits low
- +1 armor
- start up is 1 with 8 frames? explain? it seems to have instant start so can i punish whiffed ryu’s c.hk? I can also punish neutral jumps and jump in/backs?
- can hold for 4 seconds, push “P” to cancel
anything else so we can constructively explore this awesome ultra?
Love the Breathless Ultra. Makes it very hard for people to rush down once you have an Ultra. It’s so good that I feel it’s almost broken. Very fast, +1 armor, can be held, and canceled?!? Maybe I just need to play more skilled people? LOL
played for like 3 hours and straight owning muhfuckas… i dont think im switching my main at all, abel is so much fun. i dont really use cr.lk xx super combo that much in vanilla but i landed a lot of em just now, its so good, reminded me of the brief time i played 3s LOL
ive also discovered some character specific stuff in practice mode but im thinkin of compilin at least a few more info first, re-testing and all…
Is anyone else having trouble against T. Hawk? The guy is like a more mobile Gief, I dont even attempt to rush him down anymore. I even got mash ultrad out of c. MP xx MP cod. Im sure it was error on my part but that shit pissed me off.
Apparently, you can Falling Sky him out of any of his air shenanigans.
I was gonna main Dudley in SSF4, but Abel’s just too much fun to play. Breathless is so fucking awesome as an Ultra that it’s too good to pass up, honestly.
I’m still having a very hard time even using Falling Sky. It just doesn’t feel right. I never use it. I need to work on bringing that into my game.

HAV: I’m in the same boat. I’m so used to gauging distance in and using c.mk, c.hp, or far s.mk that I’m not thinking to FS. The few times I did try it, it felt the same though.
I havent successfully used FS as anti yet. It feels wierd so the few times in a match when I remember to give it a try I just get kicked in the face. Im just going to stick with the regular AA normals for now.
Well, at least I’m not the only one having trouble with Falling Sky. I keep trying to use it in a match, but unless it is a real obvious jump in, I end up whiffing FS and eating an attack, not something I can react to, also the auto correct FS is still hard to do cause you have to time it right. On a side note, I did f+mk into hk in a match and got a 2 hit combo, didn’t see counter hit on the screen, but I may have also missed it, just curious about testing that. I can also do c.hp on block and after the 2nd elbow hit go into cod, don’t recall that happening in vanilla, but I don’t think I really used that to begin with.
