There are better ultras.
for some reason rose’s U2 doesn’t have the :d::df::d::df::r: shortcut every other ultra in the game uses, so you end up with ex reflect way more often than you should.

i don’t think breathless is cheap per se. but i don’t like how it can be a deciding factor in a match. and the things you can do with it is a bit too much. like for example, if abel starts up breathless juri can armor break it with dive kick. but if the abel is smart soon as he see me do dive kick he can cancel it and score a free TT. i just think it’s versatility is a tad much.

i dont think its possible for the abel to cancel on reaction upon seeing a dive kick, plus i thought its only unsafe if you do the multiple hit/follow up kicks? sorry if im wrong though my matchup knowledge against juri aint all that good.
it’s unsafe upon first hit blocked unless it’s a tk version. abel can actually get a free TT from a blocked dive kick. and yea, you’re right alot of ultras can be a deciding factor during a match. i guess i’m just picking out abel’s since i don’t really know how to deal with it atm lol.
Its not cheap, just a really good ultra lol. As for when I play abel, I pick ultras depending on characters (Back to 3rd strike). Example- All shotos get Souless. I use breathless for blanka and Honda. Blocked blanka ball or headbutt= Ultra. Also I use it on characters that I think I can focus alot more then others. Maybe my way of thinking is skewed, my 2 cents
ive been applying breathless against shotos lately(esp ryu), works well imo.
bait a lp shoryu, safe right? breathless that shit. bait a throw with a hk roll, breathless that shit. its not perfect or better than u1, but im beginning to prefer it more in the ryu matchup now, havent got the chance to test it intensively against other shotos.
if U2 did 400 damage instead of 450 i would be happier. you can only catch it raw or off a focus and you have a high chance of catching it if you have the slightest idea of how to play the game.
those extra 50 points should go to adon because his ultra does ass damage.
Just jump up high and dive kick behind the ultra if he’s that close to you. You’re out of there for free. If you’re far away from Abel then just jump backwards. Don’t actually aim the dive kick to hit Abel. That’s just stupid and not worth the risk even if it can beat the ultra. Once Abel activates Breathless the best counter is to use something that throws you away from the ultra or something that u know 100 percent beats the start up of the ultra.
ahh, i suppose that is a much better way of handling it. i wonder if EX fuhajin works. i’ll try it out in training. and thnx for that nugget of info. i panic alot once i see his ultra 2 meter filled so i don’t really think things through.
