MSNBC management isn’t sending down memo’s every day telling all their anchors what they can and can’t talk about, each anchor has things that are important to them and cover different stories. on top of that maddow in particular goes out of her way to attempt to get conservatives on her show (rand paul was on her show during the 2010 election… and even after he got creamed in the interview claimed she was extremely fair to him). it’s not their fault that the gop would rather get handed softball interviews where the fox “journalist” make their point for them in question form.
and the race card SHOULD be played here, he’s the only president in history who has had their citizenship called into question. you know WHY no others have had theirs questioned? because that shit gets vetted so far before anyone can get into the running that only racist dumbasses would think such crap. The Certificate could have had all the text in Comic Sans and looked like the editing was done in Paint and it wouldn’t have changed anybody’s mind.
There could have been absolutely no question regarding the authenticity of the document at all and birthers would have just demanded to see something else.
There was accordingly no reason to release this. Unless I’m wrong and there are droves of people for whom the only outstanding issue with Obama is the belief that he was ineligible.

I liked this. One of the chicks who started the birther movement is named Orly. She gets asked on to the show so the host can confront her and get her to say “Yes, he’s an american citizen and I was wrong”. Of course, it doesn’t go that way.
Whats interesting to me about this entire thing is how deep some people resent the president, and how badly they will cling to anything that would somehow bring the president down. And it isn’t a small pocket of people. It seems like a large group and it makes no sense.
