because they wont try to wash it out and turn it into disney land, they just want to advertise and bring some hoes and t-shirts and let the fgc community be who they wanna be…They Understand are needs… i could see spooky and a porn camera man rapping for hours on how to get shit done…Its a win win…Other then ciggs, weed and booze ,porn is the best Fitting sponsor to step up to the fgc…cuz mcdeez and pepsi and shit never will.
some one needs to get them blunt wrapp companys to sponsor them
99% of the scene isn’t benefitting though. That’s the point. The VAST majority of us aren’t benefitting, yet we’re having to deal with PC police, and other dumb shit, so that 10 or so guys can pad their pockets with TINY change.
It’s ridiculous that there isn’t MORE pushback against everything that’s been going on. We aren’t gaining from most of what’s been happening, in any real way.
EDIT- Also, I just said this on Twitter, but I’m gonna repeat it here, because this is funny to me:
Brazzers, as a sponsor, makes WAY more sense than any other sponsor, outside of Mad Catz. No other sponsor is bringing any actual product to our audience, that makes any sense (if they market anything at all). Our scene is cheap, but also, there’s nothing Justin Wong can push me to buy, outside of a stick. There’s no upside in product placement, for almost any company.
Enter Brazzers. A porn company marketing a scene of 18-35 year old males, many of whom don’t get pussy like that… it’s such a perfect tie-in. Shout out to Joe for seeing this. This shit is genius. It’s hilarious… but it also makes HUGE amounts of sense.
Any kid that doesn’t know what Brazzers or porn is in general likely is at the age where they shouldn’t be on the internet without parental supervision or should be subject to internet parental controls. I mean, considering spam ads, search engine results, or just… you know, being a kid in modern society considering most kids are fucking by age 14… it’s not exactly difficult to stumble upon such a thing otherwise. You’re making it seem like we’re a significant source of brand exposure. This ain’t Viacom.
Hahahahahas sounds good ehh,i dont see it hapening now if i brought it up for advertising,if a t-shirt gonna cuase a fucking uproar , or maybee they bring some of the strippers from the club they pay to trim to walk the floor…or throw a few gz in a POT, i should bring up small local events they should search for in the CO area, You can see the fgc is now disney
If people are worried about children at evo, where was the outrage when MK got picked up? A 15 year old kid can’t legally buy MK9, just like he can’t legally go on brazzers. And unlike a brazzers logo just being on a shirt, MK itself is being streamed.
I agree with every thing you just said. I mean, Izze sponsoring Apex? I love sparkling grapefruit juice as much as the next person, but that shit doesn’t click.
And to the first bit, that was my point entirely. Everyone’s so concerned that this will bring about the demise of the FGC… but they ignore that the C stands for Community. It’s not a business. This shit is FUBU (for us, by us) and the vast majority of us don’t get anything out of it besides a fun hobby and a few events to attend. I can understand tournament reps/organizers, top players who wanna see that eSports action, or someone on a similar level complaining, but most of these people crying about the hypothetical detriments are just glorified stream monsters. So when people who are actually traveling regularly out of their own pocket aren’t getting anything out of this besides a good time, I can hardly see what the people of SRK are so worried about losing.
This shit reminds me of a class discussion we had yesterday in my English class. It was about swearing, it led to videogame violence, and then drugs, and probably would have ended up in sex.
There was a self-righteous woman that was proud that she didn’t swear and tried to bring in religion TWICE in the discussion. Her and this other girl get into a mini-argument and everyone else is all “oh man” and me being in college for like 4 years I’m just holding back laughter because I’ve seen it many times before. I’m pretty sure she was also one of those people that believe porn statistically leads to rape.
We had to say “the F word” instead of fuck so as not to offend her because saying fuck demeans the act of procreation because god blah fucking blah.
People need to get their shit together and realize there are more important things to think about than swearing, drugs, and porn. Y’know like children starving and other heinous shit that goes on in this country and in other countries.
You’re missing the point. The event organizers are the ones who get to determine what sponsors appear or not on stream and in the venue they’ve rented out. And they have. So there’s no arguing about it. No one here will change their minds.
Your point jumps from place to place. If Long Island Joe were to make top 8 in any of the games and he happened to be wearing a brazzers shirt, do you think they’d disallow his presence? Let’s change that to hold for any player that makes top 8? Do you really think they’re going to pull their money makers off the stage to please an indirect affiliate?
We play Marvel VS Capcom 3, so we represent Capcom and Marvel. Marvel is owned by Disney. ZZZZZzzzzzz
I didn’t look to see where the issue originated from, so my fault. I’m aware and understand that the organizers have every right to pick and choose what they allow on stream or what they promote both directly and indirectly. I guess I was more speaking to general concerns about the matter if the T.O.'s are indifferent about the sponsorships and allow it.
And as HAV was saying we are playing videogames not saving or ending lives. Remember that this is a hobby we do for fun. In the grand scheme of things we are not doing anything of significance. Most you guys protesting this seem to forget how important what we do really is. Not very, and that is fine play games because you enjoy them or for competition not because you want to get paid.
