BradyGames UMvC3 Strategy Guide Questions

agreed, dante is about as stylish as a 30 year old hot topic customer.

I buying this guide for the pictures and colors. It better not fall apart either (RIP RE4 guidebook…)

Can’t roll my eyes hard enough at “I didn’t need it” or “it’s just for numbers.” Cool story bro. Do you have any idea the percentage of people who buy these games who know nothing about srk or high level play? Who wouldn’t know the first place to even start with improving or taking matches more seriously? Who think every fighter, ESPECIALLY MvC, is a mashing contest? The way I see it, we made a significant dent in the numbers of those ppl and opened their eyes with vanilla book (which sold more copies than srk has members), while providing a deep reference for ppl who already know what’s up, and we’ve done it better this time.

Pffffft, not tailored for me specifically, suxxx!!

Basically, shush you, you non newb/noob you!

Dante isn’t wearing a trench coat. Not all long coats are trenches people, and the last “cool” character wear a trench was Dick Tracy.

Seriously though, the vanilla guide was just overall a very solid reference and starting point. And unlike practically every other game guide put out since 1995, worth purchasing.

His hair is white8-)and if you think Dante isnt stylish, you have obviously never played DMC3. And if you’ve never played DMC3 we have to talk about. Good day sir.

On topic: I think this is the first time I’ll be buying a guide Day 1…

I’m hoping to get this guide pre-day one… I use the original guide almost every other day just to cram as much info into my noggin’ as possible. I pray the new guide is just as good.

@Nooneyouknow - Yes, yes I know. Regardless, I’m going to lump him in with them because long coats are still overused. So hah.

@Kaiten92 - Of course I’ve played DMC3 and I do actually like Dante (minus riding rockets around like they’re skateboards…) Zero’s still cooler, though.

The vanilla guide was excellent, instantly having access to multiple combos for every character physically in my hands is worth it, plus all the other textbook quality info was an instant level up for me. Nice work to all who made that!

I just pre-ordered the Ultimate guide on Amazon for a mere $12.51 (after tax and free 2-day shipping), totally worth it. Looking forward to diving into that book whenever it gets here.

Yeah I mean I’m hoping to get it ASAP.

Thats…not…possible…:lame:

To be honest, I can’t see why even SRK members wouldn’t pick up this book.

Pre-ordered with 3-5 day shipping. Knowing Amazon however, they’ll send it to me a day or two early anyways. Win-Win situation!

Thanks to everyone that worked on the first guide, it was amazing. Loved the info and the artwork. Beautifully done. I can’t wait for the next one!

Just a heads up, I called 3 of my local GameStops in California and they said the guide will be available in-store tomorrow.

Might have to cancel my order!

well you know cali always get dat crack early.

This is kinda an odd question, but I’m still pretty scrubby at Marvel. Don’t quite understand everything about it. I’ve been told though that different characters have different throw ranges, dunno if that’s ground and air or just one of them. Anyway, is it possible that the guide might have throw data?

Prolly not. Air to Air exchanges tend to be hard to map in terms of data. Too many factors to consider. But i’d still buy the guide anyways. (PS. Supposedly Ammy and MODOK have the largest air throw ranges in Vanilla.) (PPS. BUY THE GUIDE!)

Oh yeah. I’m buying the guide regardless. Hopefully I can grab it at the MW3 midnight release tonight. Anywho, I didn’t really expect it to since there wasn’t any data on that in the Vanilla guide. Any idea where I might find that kind of info mapped out?
Also, that’s interesting about MODOK. Wouldn’t have guessed that one.

I wish it had hitboxes, but it’s really difficult to see them in this game.

I actually tested out air throw range for the whole cast a while back. Sentinel and Phoenix have the longest range.

Modok and she hulk i don’t know my guess
