BradyGames UMvC3 Strategy Guide Questions

Im boggled as to how noone EVER thought to make the screen name “capcom” on Shoryuken.com until little over a month ago.

IKR? Everytime i see someone complain about Capcom i lol a little inside. I bet the name Marvel and Mahvel are available too. Someone should get on that. Then we could troll together!

wheres the name change thread lol

did not have the guide and own people who do

The guide is mostly for numbers. It helps let you know what beats a move and what moves are possible to link together for combos.

It also shows you how to play characters, special properties of moves, good assists, and some good bnbs. To say it’s mostly for numbers is not that true. Look at Dante. One of his best moves to make his blocked strings safe is his bold move. His s:m: is definitely his best AA and starts up good combos. Hammer was/is his best GTFO move. All of that was taught in the guide as well as other things.

No. The guide is actually a great starting point for anyone that wants to pick up the game. It has the basics for the beginners, BnBs and general strategies for intermediates, and frame data for advanced players.

yes baby

Dear Lord, someone finally did it. Now all we need is someone to make a SNK username.

Forgot to mention. A guy named Andrew Stanton made a app for MvC3 that gave frame data, the 10 combos of each character from their missions, the names and notations of most moves (no command normal notations for some), total health, and dmg increase in XF. It was a great mini (and quick) guide for advanced players and although I recommend downloading it (if there is a UMvC3 version) it didn’t replace all the stuff the Brady guide has.

The bible allows players to start from point C instead of A. In order to avoid wasting brainpower it’s good for everyone to know what is already discovered, by getting the guide so they can begin to find new things and bring those to the internet. Those on the internet will most likely not mention what is in the guide because It is expected to be known thus it will never be a waste of purchase.

Would be nice

I’ve never seen anyone use it for anything other than the numbers, which isn’t a bad thing.

Numbers isn’t a bad thing at all, when you consider the numbers is frame datas.

Hopefully many pages has been put to the betterment of Shuma. It seems like everyone be hating.

Also Clockw0rk appears in this thread. From no where. I assume he’s been assisting in working on this guide now since he hasn’t been anywheres.

The first guide is responsible for opening my eyes to the possibility of Kara cancelling a s.H into Gamma Tornado with Hulk. It basically gives you an option select between an armored, ground bouncing attack and a command throw, both of which allow full combos afterwards. Love it on incoming characters. Thanks, guiders!

Honestly, while I bought it for the frame data, it has had some things in character sections I wouldn’t have thought of, a lot of the “discovered” tech we had posted around here even as late as June, was in that guide from day 1. It’s also a really nice place to start for picking up a new character, although this might just be because it was proof read to a much higher degree than most of the stuff posted here.

I demand 100 pages on what Zero can do and why he is the coolest character in the game.

Yet one word explains why Dante is cooler: “stylish.”

I’m equally pumped for the guide and the game

Trench coats and silver hair stopped being stylish a long time ago, sir.

And since when did Zero have no style!? :nono:
