Yeah a lot of the strategies I put together and what I know about the game in general is from reading the guide. I wouldn’t be doing half the stuff I’m doing now with my characters if it wasn’t for the guide. Definitely found some stuff from discussing with players on SRK but I literally put shit together with my characters that most others aren’t doing just by reading the guide.
Looking forward to more goodness from the next guide and hella hype to see the frame data changes.
The new guide will be a lot more thorough I’m sure also since people know a lot more about the game than they did 5 months ago.
I got a question though…for characters that didn’t change a whole lot will their strategy sections be copy and paste from the vanilla mvc3 guide or can we expect to see some new info/strategies from what people have found in tournaments since then?
Characters are all redone, there is no cut-and-paste going on. Remember we made the last guide in a vacuum in secret, we were kind of guessing about how we thought stuff would play out. We’ve benefited from the experience of seeing it out in the wild for months since then the same as anyone.
Over 600 pages would make me excited if I knew why the guide would need that many pages. Are there going to be information on characters from different players perspectives?
I will definitely buy the guide again if it’s the same caliber as the original. Excellent frame data and while combos and things quickly became out-dated it’s nice to use them for a bit of theory-crafting to get an idea of what might work before we sit down in the lab and try it
