Ah, interesting. If anyone else finds anymore changes, be sure to post them up.
Bah, I was trying that like for 10 minutes on practice mode and then thought it might be a 1-frame input, so I was never going to get it.
I agree with Kumai, if there are any other changes, post them up. If possible, in a separate topic, Thanks.
I just bought the guide. Im really impressed by how well made this is. Really helps explain the general mindset to take while playing the game on top of lots of detailed strategies for close/mid/long range for the characters. Good stuff!
Just got it myself. This is exactly how I feel.
Good job guys!!!
I have to pick up the game tongiht or tommorow, but only doing so at Walmart or Target, i hate the stupid practice of opening the games at Gamestop and calling them ‘‘new’’.
New is SEALED. And thats how I want my game if I want to buy new, SEALED.
Anyway, hope the guide is at my local Gamestop…any suggestions where there will be definite copies would be appreciated.
I actually used keepvid on Dandy’s video and then uploaded to my blackberry so i can watch it anywhere…anytime.
Unless they bought them all up at your GS, they should have some copies on the shelf by now. I live in sticksville Maryland and even my local GS had copies.
Just bought the game at Fry’s for $52.99 and from the great reviews you guys have given, bought the guide from Amazon for $12.99.
Congrats on yet another completed guide!
Great work as usual, keep it up!
What’s the next project? Tekken 6?
Found some issues with the guide.
The notation for Benimaru’s Rolling Thunder is incorrect. It says its:
:qcb: + :snka: or :snkc:,
it should be:
:qcb::qcb: + :snka: or :snkc:
Also, the guide fails to mention Benimaru’s Raikouken Super Special, but in the photograph next to the description of the rolling thunder super, it shows the Raikouken super being performed. These errors are on page 55 and and the chart on page 21.
I’m not sure how something like this could have been missed, but figured I’d give a head ups. I also found a small typo on page 20, on the bottom left of the page under the “Special Move” section, the very last paragraph:
“And build a little super meter, even if the [sic] whiff”
I guess you guys meant “they.”
Thanks for everything guys, I appreciate the work you put into the guide regardless.
anyone in Toronto know where to get this?
Wait: Kamui and Dr. Dee did the guide for this? I have zero interest in the game itself, but I think I’m gonna go looking for that guide! They always do good work.
Does it have pictures of all the attacks? I like purdy pictures! Can someone post a scan of a character so I can see what it looks like? Thanks.
Dandy J:
PM me scans please. Or post frame data info somewhere. SNK frame data is scarce.
The entire guide is picture heavy. They show most all of the moves, and not just specials, but normals and command moves as well. Those pics are quite small, but it’s just so they can fit everything into two pages for each character. Nice and organized with comments on each move.
The strat section of each character shows a couple pics of moves you should be doing at certain ranges.
Etc, etc, you get the idea. Just take a look at it in the store. It speaks for itself.
Does the guide tell how much life bar you get?
Still confused on how the recovery goes. Because sometimes it’s high and sometimes its low.
You and me both. I have not seen that information in the guide, but I have not looked closely. I will give that a shot today.
I could be wrong, but I have a strange feeling that it has to do with how much time is left on the clock. I’ve noticed that if I have <10 sec on the clock, I get next to know life back, and, on the other hand, when I have a lot of time the bar fills WAY the f**k up.
Finally got the guide tonight, looks pretty insightful so far.
Yeah, how much time is left determines the life you recover, but I don’t think it’s the seconds left, but the percentage of time left, and like some people use 90 as the time limit instead of 60, you get less life even if it seemed to be more time.
I’m not sure, but that seems to be the reason it recovers more at certain times.
Great job on the guide guys! Got the game and didn’t really have a good idea on the mechanics being a KoF noob. The guide explained it all really well and it was easy to understand. Good stuff!
yes! so glad you guys made one for kofxii, the other guides you did were fantastic. A+++ bathroom reading material, never had my legs fall asleep so many times.
Gonna pick this one up tommorow.
