Winky Wright won that fight hands down. Taylors eye was all closed up and Wright didn’t look too badly hurt at all. The decision seemed to keep Taylors unbeaten streak while not giving a loss to the winner. It is a shame that judges decisions can totally ruin a fight by fucking up on the scores. Holyfield - Lewis 1 anyone? The worst place to fight is Europe. You will never get a decision against one of the locals even if you win all the rounds 10 -7 i.e 2 knockdowns per round.

Might be out of place but I haven’t heard anything about Jeff Lacy for a while. After getting totally fucked up by Joe Calzaghe, will he be the same? Also I have never understood why Calzaghe is not big in America (although he is a sick note and pulls out of a lot of fights).

Danny Williams is supposed to be getting another shot at a world title. I don’t see the point as he is one of those boxers who just isn’t good enough to be world champ. In fact the heavyweight scene is a bit bland. Are there any boxers to watch out for in the future?

Calzaghe is not popular in America because he has never fought in the US. In boxing, to be the best, you have to fight and win in America. A fighter is a nobody unless he fights and wins in the US. Doesn’t matter the record (Hatton, Hamed), it is meaningless unless a fighter wins in America because american boxing is the standard for: respect, fame, money. Its just the way it is. Like Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, I’d like to see him face off against some of the US/ Mexican fighters in America.

As for the heavyweight division, it is indeed bland. I like the middleweight, welterweight, and super featherweight divisions the best. And 147LBS having the most names in my opinion.

Is Hatton’s next fight against Oktay Urkal ?

(sorry for the double post)

do you know where the judges sit at? I do not know if they all sit at the media side or are they at three different sides of the ring? At the fight, the judges were not from the state so the bias is only from the crowd and not the judges.

Even in Britain he isnt as popular as he should be. Nobody cared about Lacey over here either so the win did very little for Joe.

Calzaghe often thanks Lacey for coming to the UK because he doesn’t intend on fighting in the US ever.

I am very impressed with Pacquiao. His fights are always crowd pleasing to watch. Although the fight was not worth 40 bucks, the undercards were very pleasing to watch. I am a now a fan of Larios. A very tough fighter that went 12 rounds against the Pac-man. That third round start made 80 million + filipino fans in shock! I thought Larios had Pac their. Overall, very good fight and Larios will do well in a more natural weight class of 130LBS.

If Pac beats Morales and Jaurez beats Barerra; I would like to see: Jaurez v.s. Pacquiao in '07

I would believe Morales’es last fight will be this November 18. He will be top 5 Mexican boxers of all time in my book.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. v.s. Kermit Clinton???

Roman Karmazin vs. Cory Spinks fight is going to be a good one. Never seen the “made in hell” fighter before…

This summer has been a good summer for boxing. Endless talks of Mayweather ducking Margarito and Hatton being overrated ( in the eyes of some american fight fans). Baldomir’s killing of Gatti leading him to become this year’s, “fighter of the year” We seen upsets, and weight issues, and of course, Controversial decisions.

My thoughts: Baldomir has a chance against Mayweather, Hatton should unifty Light Welterweight titles, Barerra v.s. Jaurez II is probably the best PPV this year, don’t count out Erik Morales, Margarito needs to fight two ‘top 10’ fighters (and win) before calling out Mayweather

Good article on boxing being the most demanding sport:
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/sportSkills

Looking forward to: Jaurez v.s. Barerra II with a hell of an under card:

Jorge Barrios vs. Joan Guzman
Israel Vazquez vs. Jhonny Gonzalez

I’d like to see in 07: Paul Williams v.s. Antonio Margarito two very tall welterweights that should of been fighting at 154LBS.

the rest of the year is looking really cool, lots of curve balls in the line-ups

Isnt Arce fighting pretty soon too?> This guy needs to get some US love.

Sept. 23
Jorge Arce vs. Hawk Makepula, 12 rounds, for vacant interim WBC junior bantamweight title. This is going to be shown at HBO Boxing After Dark.

I can’t believe Brian Viloria. I didn’t even know what channel that fight was on…

Mayweather v.s. Baldomir
Morales v.s. Pacquiao III
Jaurez v.s. Barerra II

$150.00 This is going to be an expensive fall schedule

I’m planning to see live: Sergio Mora vs. Eric Regan Aug.25 @ Sacramento, Ca

Herns v.s. Hagler - greatest three round fight of all time

part 1

part 2

part 3

part 4

part 5

The fight starts at part 3. Just watching this fight, I get to see the greatest Middleweight of all time ( Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest Welterweight & pound for pound fighter) and probably the best southpaw of all time.

Thomas Herns of our era could be an up and coming ‘Paul Williams’.

I have a very limited knowledge in boxing, but I had to question Thomas Hern’s ‘Heart’ in this fight. I did not see the desire to win from him, unlike Hagler. Herns tried to give Hagler a ‘boxing lesson’, but could not stay away from the ropes and should have thrown more in the third round to keep Hagler away.

short, but very well fought fight from two great fighters.

Fuck me. MAYWEATHER-DE LA HOYA IS SIGNED.

http://www.boxingtalk.com/pag/article10367.html

If the fight was signed so fast, that it was “Oscar’s Show” and Mayweather played second bananna. 154LBS for Oscar’s 154LB WBC “the green belt” that Floyd has won in four different divisions.

but forget about that fight until a formal press confrence announces the fight.

we got Pacquiao vs. Morales III this saturday… thread coming soon

EDIT: now boxingscene.com has reported the Mayweather vs. de la Hoya fight http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=6214

FUCK YES!!!

ESPN also makes de la Hoya - Mayweather fight offical

something about Amir Khan, wants me to see someone smash his face in boxing.

Guess I will have to wait for a decent American or Latin fighter

can you tell me about Amir Khan?

i heard he is “the next Naseem Hamed” and he is a great prospect from England… as well as Andy Lee (Ireland)

Man Naseem was a grade A+ faggot who didnt fight anybody great until he met Barrera.

I remember when Naseem lost and said ‘’ it was the will of Allah that I lost’’

No it wasn’t you fucking tool, it was Barreras will and ur Allah wouldn’t have been able to save ur ass to save his own ass

wow, not one boxing fan from England would ever have said what you have said about Hamed on the other boxing boards i visit. I totally agree with what you said and his ring entrances were too long. i think Hamed made Barerra wait almost one hour in the ring because of his ring entrance.

makes me wonder how you feel about ricky hatton?..

I keep it real, unlike other Brit fans, the stars here are overhyped.

Ricky Hatton is doing good but I want to see him fight other good fighters but Naseem made me laugh always praising Islam after a while and forgot England.

Also whenever Lewis lost, they called him a Canadian but when he won, then he was British.

Also Naseem brought his barber from England to cut his hair b4 the fight, what a fucking dick he was for that.

EDIT

Anyway I just dont like Khan for some reason, also the best British fighter was a BLACK CANADIAN who just had a british passport.
Hell the only other White English boxer who I can say is famous is Steve FOX

J/K England have a couple

what about joe C?

anyway, i was thinking about going to the dlh-mayweather card. shit is going to be expensive as fuck though, but damn so many fine females go out to watch dlh its great. not fine girls with their boyfriends, packs of girls. :encore: so yes you will probably see me in the upperdeck for $150  :wasted:

yo Abhi, i did not know about that about Lewis. i’mma have to wikipedia his bio… yup, thats weird. fought for Canada in the Olympics and then carried the UK flag as a professional. I wonder why canadians didn’t claim him and why didn’t lewis carried the canadian flag as well…

for reals, boxing seats are too expensive. i’d rather PPV for only $50 then $100-$150 for the cheap seats. the mayweather / de la hoya fight will look like a UFC fight with all the groupie bitches their.

Joe C needs to challenge Jermain Talyor when he moves up to 168 LBS after he kills Kassim Ouma.
