Did anyone catch the Valero vs Demarco fight? Hopefully it is available for download later today, it sounded like a good one.
^^ I was able to catch the end of it & apparently Valero made DeMarco quit on his stool after the 9th. Someone told me that DeMarco was boxing him in the first 2 but after that Valero was just being busier & catching DeMarco with big shots. I hope Valero will face against Katsidis sometime this year thus bringing more good news for boxing.
I wasn’t overly impressed by Valero.
He won, but he would’ve beat DeMarco regardless on work rate alone, and that’s a huge pet peeve of mine. When you can win on work rate alone it tells me nothing about you as a fighter, but it does say a hell of a lot about your opponent, since they allow you to win based on work rate.
He hit DeMarco square with his several times and couldn’t drop him. That said, I remember at one point DeMarco was coming forward in the middle of the fight. Valero hit him one time, and had him shook. DeMarco didn’t come forward anymore after that. Mentally he was already defeated.
Perhaps it caught me at the right time but that shit had me rolling.
Saw the fight, I wasn’t impressed by Valero either. Easiest way of saying this is when Gamboa fought an opponent not in his class he showed good boxing ability. With Valero he just looked one dimensional in the sense that everything he was doing in that fight was to set up his left hand. Against a better boxer, I feel he will be easy to time and manipulate around the ring.
well valero can’t legally enter the US and on top of that is on indefinite medical suspension, so…yeah, not likely unless katsidis goes to fight in mexico .
That’s right, I totally forgot Valero can’t step foot in the U.S. Ah well they can probably fight it out in Katsidis home turf in Australia. Doesn’t Katsidis has some type of paper belt that if Marquez doesn’t want to defend his title he’ll be the champ?

It’s a hole in his brain, and he’s cleared to fight in the state of Texas. When you said he couldn’t step a foot in America I thought it was down to him being banned from America.
well that too. he’s banned getting a country and getting a visa bcuz of DUI, but his last time in the US he was denied a medical clearance as well.

kind of one sided… he was bigger than the other guy…Vargas. The guy was a former strawweight O_O. Definitely mismatched. Vargas was a replacement, but still they could’ve found someone better. KO with a left uppercut in the 3rd round.
