I’m on the border about this issue. Mainly because Mayweather isn’t just using xylocaine so he can hit people harder and not feel pain. He does have documented hand problems. However it’s not like Floyd has been knocking opponents out left and right since using xylocaine. He still isn’t a power puncher and hasn’t shown any noticeable increases in punching power so it’s hard to say he is punching opponents harder. However Malignaggi’s comments about Pacquaio do raise suspension IMO.

i think there’s probably a little bit more to this arum-cowboy stadium thing than we know at the moment. dude seemed particularly butt hurt that schaefer wouldn’t seriously consider having the fight outside of vegas and wouldn’t even go look at the place in early december…and then a week or so later pacquiao all of a sudden can’t have his blood drawn before the fight and arum is already talking about having him fight other guys? arum obviously has a lot of sway with pac as evidenced by him convincing pac to renege on his golden boy deal a couple of years ago and stick with top rank, so there’s no way that if he couldn’t bring pac around on this issue if he really wanted to which leads me to believe jerry jones made him some sort of godfather deal to bring a big fight to dallas.

so manny wanted scheduled blood tests every 10 days up to 30 days for the fight, accepted random urine tests, and a blood test immediately following the fight.
odds are there is going to be an hbo special following these guys around 2 weeks prior to the fight sooooo…
1: Outside of HGH, what drugs do not show up in a urinalysis that do show up in blood work?
2. Do any of these drugs pass through your system in 30 days without any trace elements?
3. Do any of these drugs pass through your system in 10 days without any trace elements?
4. Do any of these drugs have 0 trace elements in a urinalysis regardless of the time frame when taken? (in case of random urinalysis)
5. Under the conditions listed above, does taking any of these PEDs actually provide benefit in such a stringent boost & detox scenario?
we’ve all heard steroid horror stories, and all the hype around this… if there was a drug that manny was on, it would follow the above guidelines. i don’t know much about PEDs, so hopefully the experts on this board can tell me what i’m missing.
i’m doubtful because if such a drug existed, i can’t imagine we would have as many stupid people getting caught doping as we do…

i never had a bad word to say about pacquiao until he pulled this nonsense. if you don’t think refusing to be randomly drug tested is bullshit then i really don’t know what to tell you, dude’s been pulling excuses out of his ass and flip flopping for a month. you know good and damn well if DLH or hatton (read: fighters that people generally like) requested pac to submit to random drug testing before the fight and he pulled this shit everyone would be universally giving him the “nigga please” look.
people were doubtful about the clear until they found out about it and an example of something that fits all of your criteria would be blood doping and EPO.
I normally cant punch through a piece of hardwood because the initial punch with a strong force would be painful to my fist, but I am sure if I kept at it with the same power, it would eventually break. Shooting the feel goods would give me an artificial performance, allowing me to punch through that hardwood when I normally stop due to the pain.

if a boxer gets cut in a fight would you argue that their corner shouldn’t be able to use coagulants, vaseline and freezing agents to close the wound? or what about when a guy comes in with a wrapped ankle or knee? the point of boxing is to win through damaging your opponent not to win bcuz they broke their hand smacking you around and couldn’t continue. and still a boxer punches for a living, numbing your hand isn’t going to make a professional punch harder than he’s capable of without the numbing agent barring injury. and more to the point, it’s a known and tested for substance that everyone knows about, otherwise we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.

It’s one thing to use wound suppressants to stop bleeding, swelling but nothing they use outright numbs/stops the pain, right? If someone’s face is stronger than your fist, why aren’t they allowed to use the same types of drugs to numb the pain during the fight?
