why do refs rub a fighters gloves on their stomach?
or could be >> http://www.boxinginsider.com/headlines/is-floyd-happy-or-annoyed-pacquiao-accepted/
just saw martinez vs williams fight, aside from that 119-110 scoring, thought the fight was scored fairly well. it’s close but it wasn’t a robbery 'cept for the 119-110.
Why in the world would he be nervous about making 20+ million dollars in a fight, win or lose? Why do they call him “Money”?
Also when has a fighter not ever contradicted himself? You’d be hard pressed to find many that don’t.
If you’re serious, I’ve always figured it was to remove debris from the gloves that could have been picked up when they touched the canvas.
Anyone know where I can watch this shit? I’m sure HBO will have it up next weekend On Demand, but that’s a long time!
EDIT: Damn, that was a ridiculous fight. I had a hard time trying to score it. That 119-110 bullshit was retarded. I think it could have gone either way, but I’ll have to watch it a few more times and really pick it apart. I can’t believe I missed it when it aired live.
That is an awful article.
Just caught the Williams fight. Wow. What fight was that one judge watching? ahahaha GTFO with that garbage.
lol for real. if he really didn’t want the fight he could’ve just inserted one or 2 completely ridiculous demands. 5 months between fights is plenty of time and the only hindrance to a different date is pacquiao running for president or whatever stupid shit he’s up to.
did anyone watch the khan fight, thoughts? i’m bout to watch it when i get off work.
i am serious. really? how bad can a little debris be. it takes like 2 full seconds for the whole dusting sequence to finish.
It can be really bad if any debris gets into your eyes…
Saw the fight, he did what he was supposed to do and I can’t fault him for that. That being said the level of competition isn’t anything to brag about.
I’ve heard that he is thinking about relinquishing his title because Maidana is his mandatory challenger. This is why people shouldn’t be so quick to grab a belt.
Kevin Johnson just plain trolled ALL of Boxing fighting Vitali Klitschko like he did.
Epic trolling.
Glad that Malignaggi beat Diaz apparently he dropped him at one point in the fight?
Nope. Malignaggi did a looping punch and grabbed the back of Diaz’s head, and then pushed his head down. Diaz lost his balance, and his glove may or may not have touched the canvas. Either way it shouldn’t have been called a knockdown (though it was).
Now it makes sense, I was surprised/shocked at first because Malignaggi isn’t exactly heavy handed. I’m thinking he will fight Khan next, Khan’s camp will look to shelter him from big hitters, Malignaggi is just what the doctor ordered in their eyes. A big name who won’t test his chin.
That being said I think Malignaggi would beat Khan if they were to face each other.
oh. lol.
more questions:
why tomato can? is it because tomatos are red?
get on your bike? i know what it means, but why not ‘put on your jogging shoes’ etc.? i cant find any reasonable connection between bikes and boxing.
what exactly is ‘out on his feet’?
I think I know “out on his feet” which basically means the person is still standing, but unconscious/not fully aware of their actions.
…right?
Junior Lightweights has the most depth, along with supermiddle, in boxing right now and this month had them all out on display.
I guess no one pay any attention to fights on Showtime…
Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Lamont Peterson
Bradley is now the man at 140 since Pacquiao came and went. And this win cements it. All the names are at Welter, but 140 has more depth and this division will still be strong down the road, unlike Welter.
Amir Khan looked very good or Salita was that bad.
Good to see Malignaggi get the win he deserved the first time.
Paulie Malignaggi, Juan Urango, Marco Maidana, Victor Ortiz, Kendall Holt, Devon Alexander, Amir Khan. put any of these guys in any match up and it’ll be a good fight.
Ricky Hatton vs. Juan Manuel Marquez - not interested in seeing Hatton outclassed again…
as for Khan vs. Malignaggi, I’d lean toward Khan. Paulie can’t hurt Amir and I see Amir’s youth walking Paulie down.
Kelly Pavlik TKOs Miguel Espino? in the 5th round to defend his middleweight title.
It was a pretty entertaining fight. Both fighters for some reason, abandoned their initial gameplan and made it an inside fight for 4 rounds but Pavlik took charge with some uppercuts and downed Espino twice in the 4th. Espino showed a lot of heart after the hard shots and the downs but it the Ref said thats enough and stopped it in the 5th.
Pavlik’s camp during the interview said that the contract is still there waiting for Paul Williams, saying he was the who backed out of their fight before Pavlik got hurt.
Bascailly in a nutshell, Kelly Pavlik vs Paul Williams is pretty much only a matter of time at this point.
so pacquiao is scared of drug test bcuz he’s juicing…wow lol
i don’t really think he’s juicing, but you know that’s what the headline would be if it was the other way around. seriously though, wtf pac?!
oh and yeah khan fucking destroyed that guy, assuming dude wasn’t a complete jobber, khan’s power is serious.
