Just moved but I’ve found a gym about 3 miles away so I’ll start up again once I sort out on paper my bills for this month.

No, I would actually encourage this. I think it would, and should, shut up a lot of PBF haters - win or lose. When I said “old”, I wasn’t necessarily referring to numbers. I was referring to how ODLH’s biggest recent achievement was beating Ricardo Mayorga. And I’m sorry, but I just can’t count the victory over Sturm as an “achievement”.

Nice. I’ve gone back after a long break and it’s been 2 months since I started. I love how easy it is for your body to get into shape pretty much by itself when you walk in haha.

All respect what can be said about Mosley. He struggled against the same Ricardo Mayora. He has a win over Margarito which I personally think is blown out of proportion the guy was there to be hit.

The only thing that fight did was put paper over the cracks of Mosley’s current state. If he steps in the ring against Mayweather I’m pretty sure he will get exposed because Mayweather is anything but a stationary fighter with no head movement that tries to walk through power shots.

Damn, VERY good point. But as they say, styles make fights. I think Mosely struggled against Mayorga because he’s so awkward. The same reasons that John Ruiz gave his opponents such a hard time. Same reasons that RJJ just couldn’t get past Tarver.

I think that Mosely and PBF would, at the very least, be an exciting fight. I don’t think it would be a shut-out for either fighter. It would move at a pretty steady pace.

the only fight pacquiao had while PBF was retired was hatton.

he moved up 2-3 divisions…you know the same thing everyone is slobbing pacquiao’s nuts over.

it’s just really funny how before every PBF fight there’s one perception of his opponent and then after the fight when he’s walking around not bruised up and barely sweating the opponent is a scrub/old/too small/etc… my dad mentioned it after the DLH fight saying, “dude looked like he was ready to hit the club after those 12 rounds.”

DLH is old and washed up when he loses to PBF but when he drops weight to lose to pac a year or so later it’s a huge victory.

hatton is overrated when he fights PBF but against pac, not so much.

PBF shouldn’t pick on little guys by fighting marquez…but he needs to prove himself by fighting pacquiao who is the same size.

PBF is cherry picking old guys like DLH and marquez, but if he doesn’t fight mosley he’s ducking him.

i still think the only person people should be saying PBF NEEDS to fight is cotto. dude is a beast.

He struggled against Mayorga because his legs that being said I need to watch that fight again my mind was elsewhere when watching it. Roy Jones Jr beat Tarver’s if I remember correctly then lost to him twice that’s mainly down to him being shot I don’t think he should have moved up to heavyweight then dropped weight it fucked him up.

I think the fight would be similar to Floyd’s fight with De La Hoya. I personally didn’t find the fight boring but I see Mayweather boxing circles around him and fighting him in the pocket when he has to fight up close that being said I don’t think Mosley has what it takes to drag Mayweather to the inside which would be his best bet as I certainly don’t see him beating Mayweather on the outside.

Overall I don’t care much for a Mosley vs Floyd fight, I’d rather see him face Cotto or Pacquiao.

I find this funny because people aren’t actually going on a lot about a potential match up between the two and the fact that out of the three ( Pacquiao, Cotto and Mosley) Cotto isn’t actually saying anything in relation to Mayweather.

I actually think this fight will happen early 2010. The more time passes is the more I think Cotto is going to give Pacquiao a savage beating.

I do. I’ve been in a real slump the past 3 months. Not as much motivation to hit the gym, but I’m trying to get back into it.

Yep. I used to simply do Muay Thai and Judo, but I’ve been training under this man for about six months now. Easily one of the most difficult, yet rewarding decisions I’ve ever made in my life.

nobody is talking about it bcuz pac is obviously the bigger money fight and their both arum’s guys so they’re not gonna try and take anything away from each other, that said…it’s super hypocritical for people to bash the marquez and DLH fights and then talk about pacquiao and mosley as if cotto doesn’t exist.

If Cotto manages to beat Pacquiao I feel a fight between him and Mayweather could make just as much money assuming they promote it right and it is hypocritical though when people are looking for a reason to hate it’s not like they will be objective about things.

Can someone give me a summary of that RA Rugged shit? I was going to watch it on youtube saw that he was a white man heard the way he spoke and was reminded of this twat called Westwood.

From the little I listened it came across as a situation where some dick is being a loud mouth that’s not actually saying anything of relevance but ends up the ‘‘victor’’ due to people not liking the other party.

thats more or less what happened. ra the rugged man is an underground rapper who fancies himself somewhat of a boxing historian i guess…pretty much he was on the air talking shit on mayweather and then PBF called up, at which point he just kept saying that floyd never fought anybody and responded to anything floyd said with opponents that floyd should be fighting from mosley to p. williams to chad dawson lol

floyd wasn’t really doing that great of a job of defending himself, but it’s always harder to defend yourself against someone who’s just generally attacking you instead of making an actual argument.

PBF’s fight with Hatton was in December of 2007. Pac’s rematch with Marquez was in March of '08, the fight with Diaz was in June of 2008, the De La Hoya fight was in December of '08 and the Hatton fight was in May.

But his quality of opposition has consistently been very good since moving up in weight. I’m talking about beating the top dog at 122 pounds, defending his belts then moving up to 126 pounds and destroying a top 5 P4P guy and Featherweight champ Marco Antonio Barrera. That performance is every bit as impressive as Mayweather’s win against Corrales. Then he came very close to blitzing Marquez in the first round (in a time when nobody wanted to fight him), and fought him to a draw. Then he fought Morales at 130 pounds, losing the first fight, KOing him in the second and third fights. He didn’t do anything in 2007, unless you want to count beating Barrera a second time, and then he had that great 2008 and the Hatton KO. His move up the divisions has been more impressive than Mayweather’s.

In 2003 he fought two guys he was expected to beat (and yes the N’Dou victory was outstanding), then he fought a good, but not special fighter in '04 in Demarcus Corely, then didn’t fight the rest of the year and didn’t take the obvious fight against Kostya Tszyu when it was presented to kim. Instead he defeated a crap fighter in Henry Brusseles, and against Gatti, well everybody, I repeat, everybody knew that he was in for a beating. Max Kellerman even said this was the most one sided PPV fight since Tyson-Lewis; and this was during the pre-fight telecast for the HBO booth. He fought a set up fight against Sharmba Mitchell, and then he had Judah and Baldomir. The fight with Judah was already set in stone and it was for the title, but it was ruined because he got upset by Baldomir. The fight still happened anyway and he handled his business. He did what he had to do in a God awful fight with Baldomir so I give him full credit for that.

He followed the money with a big fight with De La Hoya. I can’t knock him for getting richer, but it didn’t help him in the P4P debate. He wasn’t fighting Cotto, Mosley, or Margarito the true top dogs at the division he was champion in. Its not like when Sugar Ray Leonard when he moved up to 154 to fight the CHAMP in the weight class (Ayub Kalule) and then moved back down to Welter to fight Hearns to unify all the belts. However I give him more credit for his win over DLH than I do Pac. The Hatton fight was a good victory, but again he had proven against Collazo that he didn’t have the same strength that he possessed at 140. Pac’s win against Hatton was a helluva lot more impressive because it was at Hatton’s weight and he happened to be the champion in the division. This is fifth division (115, 122, 126, 130, 140) in which he beat the top guy or the linear champion. That is some Henry Armstrong, Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran level shit right there.

But Mosley is arguably the best fighter at 147 and is just as dangerous as Cotto. I would personally like to see HBO fund a Welterweight tourney similar to what they did in 2001 for the Middleweight title and what Showtime is doing for the Super Middleweights. But either way Mayweather should fight one of the top guys in his weight class.

my bad on that one then, for some reason i thought the fights were closer together and in a different order.

how is mosley just as dangerous as cotto when cotto beat him? cotto would still have the belt if it wasn’t for cheating-ass margarito. mosley was looking old as hell and borderline irrelevant, not even 2 years ago and now all of a sudden he’s the best welterweight? not buying it.

David Haye to win tonight. (hopefully). Would be nice to have somebody fresh and exciting as champion.

That David just fucks me off

I hope Valuev knocks this fucker out like Drago vs Apollo and Hayes ends up the same way.

I hope he sends him to whatever part of England he comes from in a body bag, I hope he will end up being blacker than the body bag by the time Valevu finishes with him

It could happen like that. But for obvious patriotic reasons I hope Haye wins. I can see how he annoys people though. There is trash talk and then there is David Haye.

Well congrats to Hayes

Well done Haye. The points win could be down to interpretation but it went for him. Had Valuev rocking in the 12th which was a surprise because the shot didn’t look too powerful but I am not a boxer so don’t know if it was just tiredness coming in. Good win.

A bit extreme? I don’t really know why you’d want someone to get so fucked up in the ring.

I’m pleased that he won, feel that he could have scored a knock down in the 12th round which in itself surprised me as I thought it was just smooth sailing from that point.
