Oooh, just listen to the sound of that hit. Great right, great end.
I’m excited for the Klitschko-Arreola fight, the heavyweight class has really been lagging (more so then it has been), and this fight could really do good things to start rejuvenating the heavyweight division is people’s minds. Especially if an American wins the belt.
I can’t understand why Malignaggi is still getting pretty big name fights. This dude can’t fight for shit. He has no power, he’s not super quick, and his style seems to be deteriorating with every fight. This guy needs to just go away.
Paulie Malignaggi has made a name for himself for fighting the best. His two loses were to the best in the division: Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton. He has a t.v. friendly personality and a mouth that attracts fans.
It is true that Paulie hasn’t fought well since winning the IBF title belt and has looked “very” bad his last three significant fights. Paulie couldn’t break an egg, but is still fun to watch “if” he fights well. The same goes for Ivan Calderon, no power but still fun to watch. If a fighter has no power, he’d better be a master boxer like Ivan Calderon, Pernell Whitaker or a Willie Pep.
Juan Diaz vs. Paulie Malignaggi. Malignaggi seems to be a gatekeeper now. A trial horse for up and comers and fighters that are coming off a loss and needs to get back into the win column. Both fighters are very likeable, Juan Diaz doesn’t have too much power himself, but good enough for Malignaggi. The classic boxer vs. pressure fighter, should be a good watch.
The more I Box the more I can relate real Boxing to fighting games.
Also in training I used those strechy things that tie to your ankles as you hold the other side while shadow boxing for three rounds and man my arms are killing me. Not to mention my instructer had me do it in the 90 degree weather outside.
Am I the only one who feels that Malignaggi got totally fucked in Houston? As much as I wanted Diaz to win, I couldn’t help but to notice he just got schooled. Malignaggi should have taken a win out of Houston tonight.
I swear, fucking boxing politics. Makes me wonder what the point is.
Wow, that was absolutely horrible scoring in the Malignaggi vs Diaz fight.
I really dislike Malignaggi, both as a fighter and the way he handles himself, but the scoring was so ridiculous. Personally I thought Diaz won the fight, and 115-113 seemed appropriate to me, but I can see the argument for Malignaggi winning. 118-110 and 116-112 are impossibilities in that fight and those people shouldn’t be allowed to judge.
I’m glad Malignaggi said what he said in the post-fight interview though. Boxing is full of shit.
I love the sport of boxing. It gives me a hobby, keeps me in shape. But, watching professional boxing is sometimes no different then pro wrestling. It’s sickening when a fighter gets robbed. A “clear” win for Paulie. The outburst from Paulie is the main reason that drove away fans from this sport and this sport is such a niche today.
115-113, Paulie
FNF season ending is looking good. two championship fights:
Juan Urango vs. Randall Bailey
Tavoris Cloud vs. Clinton Woods
looking forward to Mayweather - Marquez 24/7, Roger and “senior” together is gonna make this one good.
It sad to know that those 2 judges that scored it 118-110, 116-112 will probably be judging future matches. If I see their names again, I’ll just stop watching.
If I could rep you guys, I would. Sometimes, I think that this is the only seriously good thread on SRK!
Can’t fucking wait for the Marquez/Mayweather hype. I want to see PBF go DOWN! Not because I’m a Floyd hater (I am indeed), but because I think that Marquez is the better fighter. Mexican boxers blow my mind with their willpower alone.
24/7 is seriously one of the best sports programs ever. The quality of every single episode is top notch and so is the content. They’ve yet to disappoint with it and I expect it’ll be the same for Marquez/Mayweather 24/7. Get hype!!!
I’m tired of these shitty ass old motherfucking biased, probably corrupt judges robbing people of fights. Maybe it is for the best, that boxing just dies out.
