berto/judah would be a good fight. i agree that cintron or quintana might put it on berto at this point in his career. i like berto bcuz he reminds me of a less polished PBF, so him and judah would be perfect imo.

I’m not trying to dismiss Berto. He is still a work in progress and fighting Urango was not a step up, but more of a keep busy fight while something better can be worked out like vs. Collazo II or even Zab Judah if he beats Mathew Hatton. Berto has all the physical gifts, just a little rough around the edges in his skill. I never seen a less polished Mayweather jr, lol.

June 12 - San Jose, CA. ESPN’s Friday night fights. if anyone in Nor Cal is interested in going.

Robert Guerrero vs. Johnnie Edwards - I was so disappointed in Roberto Guerrero when I was him live last March. He had a bad cut, but chose to quit the fight and not at least go 4 rounds then goto the scorecards. Guerrero took a boxing media beating from that and I hope he can bounce back. He can make some noise at 130 and 135.

Danny Garcia - American welterweigh up and comer

Ashanti Jordan - American heavyweight up and comer from Fairfield, CA (9-0, 7 KO)

I just got a new pair of gloves since my last pair stink pretty bad and it was time I got a new pair anyway. Just wondering if anyone has any tips to keep your gloves from stinking. Only thing I do at the moment is just get my gloves out of my bag as soon as I get home.

i meant more that he reminds me of that same slickster skill set. like the way he dodges punches and when he’s on is thing to watch…but he’s been fighting whatever comp and it doesn’t look like he’ll be breezing thru better guys as easily. i still think him and zab would make for a really “stylish” fight, lots of pretty combinations and shit.

To eliminate or minimize odors and mold, air your boxing gloves out before putting them back into your bag, locker or closet. Put them away after the insides have dried thoroughly. If they are particularly wet or you are in a rush to get home, wipe the insides with a soft cloth that can absorb the moisture well. This will expedite the airing out process. However, this is usually not enough to prevent the stench.

For boxing gloves that are particularly smelly, or if you want to keep your boxing gloves odor-free from the start, try this technique instead:

Spritz them lightly with an easy-to-make solution that is simply some alcohol diluted with water. After a few minutes, shove a sock filled and sealed with cedar chips, into each of your boxing gloves (dont jam the socks inside too much, as they can alter the fit of the gloves). This will soak up the excess moisture and odor.

Dont bother with those store bought solutions. Theyre usually just a way to capitalize on peoples laziness. Rubbing alcohol mixed with water is better, and probably wont cost you as much. And avoid chemical solutions; they could damage your gloves.

David Haye pulled out of the fight on my birthday vs. Wlad. No surprise there, “undisclosed hand injury”. Brian Minto will be the replacement, what a joke.

Read it was a back injury and that if he can get fit in time (4-6 weeks) it could still be on. Although i doubt it.

Talked shit and then pulls out. Not a good start Mr Haye.

I cant wait for pacquiao vs mayweather. I just wanna see mayweather get knock the fuck out.

All that shit David Haye talked, and the fight is canceled. What a letdown.

Since Nikolai Valuev’s fight was also canceled and both Valuev and Waldimir had a full training camp, why not these two fight. Over in Germany, this would be a bigger fight then the David Haye fight. But, their German promoters are rivals and this fight would not happen so easily.

Joshua Clottey interviews:

Most people don’t know who this guy is. But for those Cotto fans that think this fight is a walk in the park, they’re dead wrong. This fight is a mega-fight for the hardcore boxing fan. I feel that Clottey is going to win this fight in the same fashion Margarito beat Cotto.

plaster?

not sleeping on Clottey but

PUERTO RICOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

fans can say about Margarito used plaster against Cotto, but there is no proof and no one can be 100% sure about that… only 95% sure

Margarito used dat plaster on Cotto for sure, lol

lol 99.9% more like it

Damn will Margarito ever be able to live it down or is he relegated to fighting in bars in mexico

Forgive me but I don’t follow boxing as closely as I should. Did they find plaster in Margarito’s gloves?

After the fight I could not find anything on the incident. Thanks.

1 thing Cintron needs to work on is his cardio. I had him losing a lot of the later rounds against Angulo.

fixed?

Thank you.

Erik Morales vs. Marco Antonio Barrera I

Me and the wife just watched this fight for the first time and wow, and it is just like what everyone says it is, a spectacular fight. Like a modern art masterpiece. That was like a trilogy rolled up in one fight. Definitely, boxing at its best.

Some more older fights I watched this week:

Salvador Sanchez vs Azumah Nelson

Lennox Lewis - Vitali Klitschko

James Toney vs Vasiliy Jirov

Oscar de la Hoya vs. Ike Quartey

Pernell Whitaker vs. Roger Mayweather

lewis never fought wladimir right?

you’re right.

Allow me to go on another rant here.

Yes, Vitali was ahead on the scorecards and Lewis was gassing out. Most people say that if the fight would had continued on, Vitali would have won the fight. I’m not so sure about that, I look at the other side of the coin and quote Lewis after the fight, “look at the status of his face”. Vitali’s face looked grotesque and if the fight would had gone on, it looked like Vitali’s left eye would have popped out.

Even if they would have a rematch, Lennox would have been much better prepared and Vitali/ Waldomir would have bring out the best in Lewis. Lennox Lewis is the best heavyweight in the 1990’s, he destroyed “everybody”.
