Winky vs Hops?
I pick Hops to win by a point or two. Hard Nard is too crafty and mobile. Both are defensive wizards, but Ive seen way more versatility in nards arsenal. Winky is pretty skilled too but he rarely shows it.
this is a hard fight to pick from.
Gotta go with B-Hop. I just don’t like Winky.
it’s gonna be a great technical fight tonight, possibly boring one if hop imposes his will, if winky pushes the pace we might get some action. on that note i’m gonna say controversial decision, something like a majority decision or draw. these two don’t have contrasting styles to make for a action packed fight, but are great boxers in their own right.
as for mayweather vs cotto, i’d say mayweather takes this one cause he’s too fast, the guy who has the best style to beat mayweather in my opinion is hatton or a vivian harris. hatton can mug mayweather and work that body so he can’t run, and harris is just as slick if not better than mayweather in the power department if he keeps his cool. cotto on the other hand is a straight up slugger, he comes straight down the middle like trinidad, so if mayweather doesn’t engage him he runs with a decision. doesn’t mean cotto’s a bad fighter, just that mayweather’s style is a bad match up.

WTF? I call bullshit on this decision. Hopkins didn’t win anywhere near that many rounds to get bullshit scores like 117 111 over Wright.
It wasn’t a great fight. It was very physical but there were a lot more clinches and holding than actual ‘technical’ fighting which was more what I was hoping for. Wright’s signature jab rushdown was primarily absent because of Hopkin’s strategy which was get in winky’s face throw like 2 punches and then clinch.

Not like Golden Boy promotions is much better, if the Marquez/Barrera fiasco was any indication(which Bernard’s atrocious conduct during the post fight interview was well noted, as well). I like Bernard’s style and stuff in the ring, and his abilities can’t be denied, but that was just retarded.
I hope you guys watched the under card. 3 potential super stars. Michael Katsidis is a beast. Jorge Lenares has some sweet hands! And the philipino katsidis fought showed a lot of guts in a losing effort.
Katsidis was just beastly. even though he was badly cut he showed me a lot! boxing needs more up and coming fighters. Id say in a couple of years youll see some good stuff from the younger guys.
Katsidis / Czah fight was very good. Lenares looks solid and will be a force. Hopkins headbutt was a factor. He did win but the points margin was generous.
