No way, it is too slow. The angle could work against some tri jumps I guess, but it has almost no forward range, plus any character with a decent air FB can just avoid all of his projectiles (ironically Chris is one of them, as all of his air projectiles have downward angle) and keep firing, and jumping normals wouldn’t help much.
I hope Chris can use his flame grenade similar to how Dormammu uses his d/f C to protect himself against tri dashes (see [media=youtube]HsF2Mw7X97Q&t=03m14s[/media]), although it is not going to be as good simply because the grenade flies too far.
So how do you guys feel chris will compete/compare to all of the crazyness of some of the other characters. I really wanna play him but I think he is defintiely lacking some of the options other charcaters have.

I don’t know about his normal grenade, but he can have his flame grenades explode right in front of him. He can actually hit himself with it. He can combo into it on the ground, it was in a video (unfortunately, I can’t find which one it was, does anyone know?)
In one video he does what looks like a standing heavy to a mine on block, could that combo on hit?
Can he shoot under Modoks aegis while crawling?
Just thinking about Chris needing an AA, if you don’t want a shoryuken style assist, you could use something like Trish’s peek-a-boo, or Modok’s floating mine, and if your opponent jumps, go into crawl beneath the trap. Chris gets pretty low down, so unless they have a air projectile they can angle down, or ridiculously disjointed hitboxes, then the trap can work as an AA. Just an idea for people who want to use Chris without needing Ryu/Morrigan/AA assist.
Chris can wallbounce Magnum, and OTG with it.
I was thinking, when he comboes into flame grenade, he probably has enough time to place a mine, then could he use magnum to wallbounce them, then OTG with flame grenade?

Yeah, the grenade usually flies too far from my experience, his flamethrower was quite useful as AA, although a bit slow.
For me personally i couldent wait to play Chris since he was announced in the summer. In terms of assists it could be Ammy for lockdown ice assist and deadpools guns for the angle chris’s shotgun cant hit from. Either that or Hulks armor gamma wave anti-cross up assist. Cant wait to pwn hardcore with Chris the Boulder Punching Beast
Just curious, what exactly does this mean? Do all of his guns get a shorter startup/recovery time, can you chain them together, do they cover a wider range, or do his bullets just glow a different color or something? I’m curious since I’ve never seen this used in any videos.
I think he was referring to Floating Bomb–>KFC–>Chris lvl 3, where Chris can spam his lvl 3 while the opponent blocks Floating Bomb. I could be wrong though.

how come nobody uses chris’s boulder punch combos in situations where they do get close to the opponent?
Plus, don’t the boulder punches end in a wall bounce?
What are his options after the wall bounce? I’m sure he could launch if close, but what if he is too far for that? Will grenade super work?
Again, seems to be so little info/feedback for this dude especially since he’s been in every public build. There’s a gigantic lack of (even basic) combos. Unless I’m missing them somewhere?
Most of the time Chris can force the opponent to move closer using the projectiles. I’m guesssing it will be useful against chars you can’t lame out on the ground. Chris clearly lacks the options to get close, but he at least has high health, and Boulder Puches could help when you do get close enough. But it is surprising that we never get to see Ground Series> Stun Rod> Boulder Puches> E> Air Series> E >Air Magnum or something. After all there aren’t that many wallbounce specials. Also, wouldn’t his Boulder Puches assist be pretty useful, it locks the opponent for some time (though less than Chun’s legs), I’m not sure if the assist version has wallbounce though.
Not sure about the grenade hyper, but “All or Nothing” shoud work, I remember Chris doing it after sweep>XFC (it was long ago, so I’m not 100% sure), so it should work against airborne opponents.
No, I actually meant that in the early build you could spam massive SMG fire during KFC and there wasn’t much that your opponent could do about it.
How exactly does chris’s grenade launcher work? Does the bullet he fires into the air home on the opponent? I am asking this cause i was trying to figure out if dormammu can dhc is fire blast hyper(not the floating bomb one) into chris grenade launcher.
the air one homes yeah. The first hit won’t freeze properly if they’re in the air tho, and that makes it not hit correctly.
