Good shit, partner. Good luck hitting :d::l: on Sent though while he’s brainlessly throwing-out :s: and :d: though, that’s the hardest part about all of these combos.
Just using solid keepaway is better against sent. A lot of peeps on streams are saying chris is a good counter to sent.

That’s why I made sure it is overkill, so you can start it with say :f:+:h: instead of full magic series and still kill him (and yeah, I tested it, it still does over 1,300,000).
You mean the one that does 554,500? No, you can’t have two wallbounces in one combo. The only reason why that combo works is because Magnum causes knockdown. I would work without Ground Magnum, but why are you using Armor Piercer? Use Upward Slant Shot. Chris has a TON of combos with it, because the way his Boulder Punches (mostly version) work.

I think we need a combo thread at some point, I actually might update some of those combos, but technically even weaker combos are still good, because they are easier to perform, online you can’t really do them all.
Also, please, replace the combo that does 554,000 (near the end), with :d:+:l:,:d:+:m:,:h:,:f:+:h:, :l: BP>:l:>:m:>:h:, Magnum, Air Magnum, :f:+:h:, :s:, ,
, :h:, :s:, :a1: (Weskers Jaguar Kick, most assists should work):d:+:h:assist connects, Flamethrower does 554,500. This one isn’t any harder, builds more meter and has less spacing requirements.

if im using wesker(ghost butterfly) and MODOK(psi blaster) how would this work to my advantage
should I switch to Jaguar kick? and im thinking Ammy (cold star) replacing MODOK as a secondary, would you all pick amy over MODOK?
Chris c.L and s.L are ASS, I’m pretty sure they are the worst normals in the game, but his c.M is pretty good and even on max range s.H f.H combos, anyway stop using c.L as your combo started, learn c.M range and start using it instead, your success rate landing a combo will skyrocket.
Check out the sanford vs yipes, and sanford vs evil rahsaan matches. The yipes one starts of a little slow but you can see sanford getting better as the matches go by. Outside of that though no one really uses chris, keep away characters in general aren’t getting much play at this point unfortunately.
That combo is way too flashy for its own good…here’s a much easier combo to kill any character with X-Factor:
d+L, M, H, f+H, XFC, H, F+H, S, j.MMH, Magnum, F+H, S, j.MMHS, d+H+assist, flamethrower. Should do 1.3mil+ and gain you about 2.6 bars.
Then what I thought was correct. He seems to be able to handle Keepaway far better than Sentinel along with the Prone which can duck under all Sent’s projectiles while letting Chris keep assists and a projectile of his own.

Just tried out Chris in my team today. Dat fucking flamethrower. I have to say, as a MvC noob and an even bigger Chris noob, he feels kind of awkward to use but that flamethrower makes up for it. Great anti-air in some situations, can be used to lock someone in place for the H grenade to also get them, can be combo’d out of sometimes, amazing chip… For what it’s worth, it also royally fucks up Galactus. I hope it doesn’t get toned down if they ever do a balance patch.

Flashy? Sure, every X-Factor combo is flashy. But, hard? I don’t think so. If I can do it everyone can :lol:. I could never do ROM’s or Sent’s Fly>Unfly>Refly stuff in MvC2, but I can do this almost every time, without much practice. Plus like WINBACK said, when are you going to land :d:+:l: on Sentinel (there’s not much point doing it against anyone else)? That combo kill him even if you star it with :f:+:h:, and Stun Rod has more range that Sentinel’s :d:+:m:.
The only reason I post combos starting with :l:, is to show they work with :l: at the beginning. After all this is Chris’s fastest low normal. Unless really close I personally star with :d:+:m:, into :h: (seems to be his safest normal on block), or :f:+:h: buffered into :l: BP (again, safer).
Don’t think I’ve seen it posted here nor is it said on the strategy guide, but the first hit of grenade launcher hits otg. May not be much but you can still dhc the first hit into something else.

Grenade Launcher is pretty interesting, I’ve discovered, myself. A good Corner “trap” for a follow up after the last shot of Grenade launcher where Chris is able to move again is to start lobbing Grenade Toss H’s while the opponent is getting tossed into the air and will fall down on the last hit of the Hyper combo. They fall into it and just burn, but be careful not to throw so many because current burning grenades cause the others to explode and they slowly trail away from the opponent and towards Chris (not that he can get hurt, but it minimizes the damage potential). At that point I like to walk forward while they’re burning and do Grenade toss M to keep the fire going then go back to Grenade Toss H.
Fun stuff, especially if the opponent is daring enough to call an assist. That’s when things get all disco inferno in that motha!

Neo Empire! some dude made it pretty far into the tourney with chris, his was, fittingly enough, was SYN Chris. Ill update the video thread with the individual vids sometime tonight. What I found interesting bout the matches was that, I am seriously beginning to wonder if chris is a keep away character, he probably has the most normal moves that do chip in the game and he has some lockdown potential and i am yet to see anyone actually play keep away with him. I guess he is more of a multi-dimensional character, than purely keep away. You won’t see me complaining.
Has anyone experimented with flamethrower as ghetto AA.
It’s hitbox seems real nice. If you see triangle jumpers, you could try to use flamethrower in advance i think (theory crafting). It’s so long that its margin of error will be pretty high. I still don’t have the game since it wasn’t shipped to my dorm until thursday so i wont be able to try anything out until monday.
Honestly dude I think chris was meant to be keepaway. It looks like capcom didn’t do a great job at it, and now chris will need to be lockdown etc.
