Blue blazes, he's AWESOME! The Nova Thread!

Seth said it can be controlled.

EDIT: Nova ping pong that is.

That worries me. I’m not too good at aiming - I always whiff Skrull Torch.

Yeah, you can control the trajectory of High Speed Tackle. Dunno what the commands to steer it though.

That would be pretty epic.

Yeah pretty sure Shuma is going to be replacing Shuma on my team. Love the space super heroes.

;o

Nova/Super Skrull/Rocket Raccoon

Cosmic Marvel cometh

I wonder if you can combo into (Human) Rocket Punch on the ground. Start up looks kinda slow. If you can combo into the crumple one like Iron Fist it would be sweet.

can’t belive I’m more hype for nova than strange lol

I really want to know about pulse l , m

I’m not sure what the point is , the range is meh n it just seems pointless

Any idea on what the non-shield Gravometric Pulses do? All I know about the move, is that the shield version eats your red bar. And, does anyone know how fast he recovers after the special where he jumps and does a dive kick? It covers alot of range, and he might have crossup tricks with assists if he recovers fast enough. I also haven’t seen Power of the Nova Force eat his red bar before(I think Seth Killian said something about his first 2 hypers taking away his red life, while High Speed Tackle doesn’t.). He looks like an anchor character to me, since he can self-otg by himself, great mixups with Overhead Smash and Slide specials, and he hits like a truck. I just need to hear his other assists, and I’m set with this guy.

Would be cool if :m: Gravimetric Pulse blew your opponent back like (Vanilla) Zero charged shot.

the L and M grav pulses look like ‘if dan had a beam’ to me :stuck_out_tongue:

If I remember correctly, his assists are the shield, the dive kick, and the human rocket punch. Not totally sure on that last one, though.

So I think this has been mentioned, but the shield move has different forms (and takes away red life) correct? What kind is the assist? Is it the one that someone mentioned sucked up like 5 projectiles? Hopefully it doesn’t bounce people too much to use as a combo extender with someone like Wesker or Task’s OTG arrows in the corner, and is effective as a keep-out tool for zoning. =)

best I’ve heard,
:l: straight forward energy burst (short range)
:m: upward energy burst (short range)
:h: forward burst and shield (uses red life for big shield)
assist is most likly :h: without using red life, but reports vary on whether it does

Seth implied dive kick was safe

infact a lot of the centurian moves look safe

They also seem to have good hitboxes, but a few of them have awful startup.

On stream the other day I saw someone land the special and then whiff the second hit and crash into the ground.

Nova is a naturally anchor. I mean, supers with red health, OTG for any ocassions with no assist, only level 1 supers so no meter dependence and the mayor reason, DAT theme for the final moment of the match. Come on, in the 90’ shows the hero always win in the end of the episode!

His assists just dont seem like anchor material to me, which is really important.

Not THAT important. Look at Phoenix. Her assists are okay-ish at best, yet she’s arguably the best anchor in vanilla.

Also, good/decent characters with really good assists, like Magneto or Iron Man, are not always much good as anchors. Conversely, Spencer is a really good anchor and none of his assists is all that noteworthy. You can always use your second slot for a good assist and just leave the last spot to someone able to bring the pain by himself. With that in mind, I don’t think Doom, for instance, is the great anchor he is because he has good assists, which are admittedly great, but because he can both create opportunities and deal damage on his own, with no need for samurai edge or beam assist covering his ass.

In the end, being a good anchor has more to do with not being self sufficient, I think. All good anchors need also to be at least decent on point.

All of that being said, my bet is that Nova may end up being a really good anchor or, depending on both his damage capabilities without super and his over all health, an okay-ish point character you won’t see all that much.
