So while my Wright and Iron Fist teams are my fun and main teams, I’ve been thinking of making competitive and tournament viable teams with my two favorite potential top tiers out of all the new characters; Nova and Firebrand.
Wright took all my attention so I honestly know little about Nova, so any stuff I should note about him? He’s my kind of character and I’m pretty interested in him. Any good team mates you think would work well with him?
Yeah, I hope Seth was referring to ambiguous cross ups and not just making another mistake to back-track on.
For anyone who can test: Can his Gravimetric Pulse (the barrier) be refreshed, like MODOK’s or do you need to wait, like flame carpet? Also, what does it block, projectile-wise?
See, this is really what I’m confused about. Claww said that the OTG slide was one of his assist, yet nobody has said anything about that? I am so confused right now and wish I was in NYC.
Theme’s amazing!
Gameplay is sweet
Quotes are great
OTG, OTG everywhere
Red health super, sounds like a very fun technology
Fast spaced and looks like anchor for default.
Man, Nova /Skrull/Ghost Rider - Firebrand is my new team! (Or Hawkeye).
Really looking forward to Nova after seeing him. I’m relatively set on using Taskmaster and Hawkeye and want to throw Nova into the mix. I think keepaway is going to be a lot stronger with Task’s and Hawkeye’s arrows combined, and I’m trying to think of where Nova will fit best on the team. Point or anchor? I know the consensus seems to be anchor, but I’m wondering if Nova’s tricky overheads/OTGs and screen control, and maybe even his little aegis reflector, upward ground bounce javelin and dive punch cross ups would make him a better point when combined with Task’s horizontal arrows and then Hawkeye’s poison arrow maybe to tag the opponent during one of Nova’s crumple combos. Plus he can DHC into Hawkeye’s insta tracking golden arrow pretty easily. Tasky isn’t the best anchor, BUT he will be better now in that role since he can air x-factor and link his legion arrows after any throw or any combo really.
I just don’t know! Plus this is all theorycrafting anyway. Opinions?
Nova looks so awesome. I love the way his moves look and the impact on them when he hits you. So powerful. I’m definitely maining him. Can’t wait to see Rocket Raccoon gameplay.
Is there a choice between making attacks use up red health or not? If I have a ton of red health from Nova getting owned as an assist I wouldn’t always want him to lose it all when I hit a hyper
Here’s what I believe is the case regarding the assists in controversy:
One build, used either on the NYCC floor or in promotional videos, features the low slide-kick assist.
Another, different, build replaces it with a lunging punch assist.
Seth has indicated that even if you come across a build where the slide-kick is present, that build is outdated insofar as Nova is concerned.
Therefore, you should not spend much time worrying about the slide-kick assist; it won’t be in the final product. If the build you’re playing has the lunging punch assist instead (I believe it’s called Nova Strike? Unsure), then that one has his full and proper assist list.
I’m not on-site, but this appears to be what is correct. Hopefully someone on-site can confirm it and bring other tidbits of info. At this point I am very much hoping to hear about health, colors, and whether his Gravimetric Pulse shield interacts with projectiles/beams or not (and if so, what does it do to them? Reflect? Negate?). If anyone gets a chance to look into these, please do.
That’s great, thanks. I was hoping. So, maybe he will be able to at least ‘stalemate’ some ground-based keepaway, if he’s having trouble getting in against a particular team dynamic. Constant barrier up plus tracking javelin can give a lot of distance characters frustration, possibly force them to switch up.
Plus now I’m thinking of corner traps (?) with GP+assists. I guess that will depend on some other stuff, yet to be seen though~
