finaly something we can both agree on
The one thing I will argue to the end is about Kohryu. That dude is top tier; he should be in the same level as Uranus and Chronos. Need I even explain, fellas?
Heās got Bakuryuās speed. Heās got power, both in single hits and in combos. Heās got mix-ups, many of which are not as unsafe on block as they seem. Heās teleport mix-ups are incredibly useful and seem to have some invincibility (or at least a lot of priority); even Uranusās teleports are all vulnerable and she can be easily knocked out of them. He takes diminished damage, he is slightly heavy in human form and heavier in beastā¦
Its just like Khen was saying to me once; there is absolutely no reason to play Bakuryu in this game with Kohryu available, he overshadows him completely.

First part to my runthrough with my new Stun and Gado. Give me some tips and stuff on what you guys think (besides me dropping my multi-part command grabs and stuff of course).
your Gados coming along nicely shame we dident get to see much of him lol, just need to work on your timing a bit but that will come easly with a little practice, one verry small thing though after air cancel you did P,K,f+B into pounce i find P,P,f+B comes of a bit quicker and is more likley to hit with f+B. other than that just abuse his throw cancel more lol
ok on to stun. stuns main strengths like Ganesha are his powerfull throw chains and his high defence (albeit not quite as slow or strong as ganesha) so its important to know when to attack. since hes not as slow as ganesha he has a bit more flexability also he has a few good guaranteed combos that can help.
f-f+P, qcb+P.
f+P, Air Throw, f-b+P.
df+B (air cancel) f+P, qcb+P. Beast only
qcb+K, u+P, qcb+P. Beast only, press u+P soon as the kick connects, this is a good one qcb+k is guard attack so you dont have to wait for a opening also if you see them guard you can cancel it and go stright into his throw chains
df+B, Air Throw, f-b+P. Beast only, wait till opponent is on there way back down to jump into the air throw.
in all honesty Iād stay away from stuns hyper beast, since most of the time your damage is coming from his throw chains and in time it takes to finish a throw half your beast bar will have ran out
Did you watch all four videos? My Gado gets a lot of time, especially in the fourth part.

My new, improved Uranus with 10 times more ass kickery than before.
I learned a ton of new stuff with her and am fully comfortable with her āFree Comboā system.

Its not as complicated as it looks, just means from a certain set of attacks you have a certain set of flow charts. Its kinda like Shenlong, Long, Urikoās thing but not nearly as diverse (not to mention not as many mix-ups) so its mainly for pressure but a few of the points give different options on CH so you can follow-up.
I also learned she can transition to beast form off of various things, some other tricks.
I canāt wait to try her out on you guys.
Iāve been practicing in BRPF recently, been checking out Ganesha. He is kinda hard to master. No string moves kinda hurt. So you really need to use his command throws.
I was practicing some combos as well, like:
(air) PB, QCF+B, QCBx2+B
Somewhat hard to do. I remember hearding the strategy guide from Brady Games saying that you canāt follow up with anything after QCF+B. Bull****! Following up with his throws or his 2nd BD after his QCF+B is great.
Probably one of your best friends if you want to combo into his throws/2nd BD is his running K and dd K. Definitely great ways to hit conform.
You should hit up Giza (Shadetail on youtube) and Khen for some Ganesha tips; they both play very good Ganeshas plus have match vids.
Also, I do believe Ganesha has some strings; the computer plays a decent Ganesha (much to my annoyance) and has a good cancelable one to set up commad throws off of. I donāt know the notation since I donāt play the elephant though, but yeah theyāre there.

first time seeing fang in actionā¦moves are completly different (same supers) man I dont want to get an xbox just for thisā¦should have been backwards compatible
I never played BR4 so whats the downside of it besides horrible VAā¦
The Japanese gamecube version has fang selectable, its the ācompleteā version of PF. So if youāre willing to do import, thereās an option.
Awesome matches man! I have PF (IMO, best version of BR3) and it kicks ass! i always pick Bakuryu.
Woah, great stuff. Awesome that thereās other folks out there playing the game. Thereās hardly anyone around me that I can convince to play bloody roar. Your videos are cool too. It was crazy, I checked out one near the beginning of the thread where you say youāre just starting out, then a bit further in the thread where you show off your new Uranus skills. Heh, crazy progress! Nice!
Iāve played a lot of bloody roar 3, using Kohryu and learning Shina a bit (after watching pockmentās crazy kohryu vs shina matchā¦ [media=youtube]eRPyCoTOpxU[/media] ). But other than visuals, is there much of a HUGE difference between it and PF, other than the little tweaks you mentioned? Or Extreme?
A lot of little tweaks from BR3 to BR:PF:
- Balance changes, such as Uranus getting nerfed a bit from BR3 to PF/Extreme, as well as Shenlong
- Combos/air cancels are toned down so many no longer do insane damage or turn into infinites/loops near the wall (such as the shina combo shown in the vid you linked, still does a ton of damage though)
- slight movelist changes and additions, for example Gadoās cancelable throw used to be his default throw in BR3, but its now a command grab in PF so it can be used in both Human and beast form
- Addition of Chronos and Ganesha, Chronos is the best character in the game
- Using Hyper beast no longer takes away your beast bar for the entire match in PF, although youāre still penalized in your lifebar if you have insufficient energy
- sidestep is gay in PF
- New stages
And speaking of changes, I was mucking around with Kohryu in PF the other day and reviewing his movelist, in BR3 qcf+B was the blockable command grab where he stabs the opponent, but in PF this has been changed to the arm missle attackā¦did they completely remove the stab from his command list or just assign it another command? Because I see Bakuryu still has the attack.
Wow, no wayā¦ Seems like a pretty interesting and substantial upgrade from BR3ā¦ Now I gotta figure out how Iām going to get a gamecube or something. And about the command grab, I donāt know, but I sure hope it isnāt the case that they removed it. That was a great move.
Oh, and is Uranus your main?
Yeah, I think the qcf+B command grab was really cool too (and Iām not even a Kohryu player). The missle attack has its uses, but I still think 7/9+P ~ qcf+B is a nifty tactic.
My mains are Uranus, Uriko, Gado and Xion. And then I picked up Stun because Deadly Rave asked me to after Final Round.
This game is god-like. I mean, just looking at the movelists, cancelable attacks, properties etc. of each character makes you realize this is a very technical game, especially when you have to skilled players on a similar level.
I went back to pump up my Xion the other day. Learned a ton of new stuff. several strings have fients, for example to be canceled by b+K; very useful for throw set-ups and covering recovery time or mix-up since the fient is very safe. I found two great juggles, both which have a cancel point and can either end with qcb+k as an ender or either beast driveā¦the only problem is that middleweight characters or lighter have plenty of time to tech out after the qcf+B or (lie down_ ~ P launcher and can block the juggle, so I need to find a set of JC normals to start with so I finish on the ground. Besides that other strings have can be canceled with the autoguard or stopped standalone (Xion has A LOT of cancel points) which combined with his tremendous range and dastardly mix-up/throw game makes me see he was so high on the tier list - I just need to make his juggles more stable and heāll be very beastly. Did I meantion he has the best lows in the game?
Iād be up to make another runthrough for him to show what I meanā¦anyone interested?
I may still do the longplay, but for now I went ahead and recorded some JC bnb for him, and went ahead and do one for my Uranus as well.
Solid, practical and most of all, stable combos that can be used in matches; none of that insane combo video stuff no-one ever pulls off.
[media=youtube]KGimmwSCW0g"[/media]
- Combo 1,2, 4 - qcf+B (launcher), [JC], j.p,j.k,j.p [land] p,p,p [buffer-cancel] qcb+k
For the second combo just replace the qcb+k with either beast drive (after the bounce), although Kyomu e Sasageru 13 Ben (qcbx2+B) does more damage than Outbreak (qcfx2+B). For the fourth variation (on heavy characters) no need to JC, just start from the pā¦ string.
- Combo 3 - qcf+B - U+P,P
You can get a otg if youāre close to the wall.
[media=youtube]K104Hplnej4"[/media]
Combo 1 - 4P [floats], [JC], p,k,p [land], K string ~ pounce attack or qcf+K otg
Combo 2 - qcb+k ~ P [bounce], 6P, P *B [transform], B, U+B [Floats], [JC], Airgrabm, pounce/otg - the airgrab is of course techable but does a large amount of damage despite damage scaling and is worth doing when you have a air tech-happy opponent.
Combo 3 - same as above, but replace the first āBā with another P to finish the string than [JC], j.k. [land], ground series, pounce/otg
Combo 3 - combo #2 variation, replace U+B with simply B,B ~ qcf+B command grab (wall hit), pounce/otg
Combo 4 - (Beastorize), 3B [floats], B series, 1B5 āBaptismā beast drive (qcfx2+B), pounce/otg (not garanteed)
Very nice! I actually kind of want to learn Xion but am not sure to the point of putting the time into it.
Awesome Uranus combos too. Iām curious if you can work that one move into some of themā¦it might be like, the back+kick combo or something, where she does 3 kicks, the last of which I think slaps the opponent into the floor for a bounce, if I remember correctly. So something like launch, jumpcancelā>attack, land, that kick that bounces them off the floor, then continuing the rest of that ground chain
ā¦i need to get my ps2 back X_X
It may have worked in BR3 vanilla, but either due to the changes in PF, or simply the moves properties, that wouldnāt workā¦the move youāre talking about is df+k, and on CH it causes either a crumple, afterwards you can get a throw or attack attempt or knocks them to the ground, but the ābounceā is so low you can only a garanteed pounce otg. I donāt think the move would come out fast enough after I land to be a combo anyway.
Even if it did work, one of the nerfs Uranus got in PF is severe damage scaling on her combos, so it would look flashy but do shit damage.
Editting my post with the combo notations.
I think the tier list is a bit wack, unless Iām still lost in BR2. Thought that Long and Uriko were top tier.
I havenāt played 3/PF in a long time, I picked up an import version of 2 at ACEN and am still surprised that I can do most of Urikoās flashy combos that I had so much trouble learning as a kid.
