Details? Her work is overly more complex and laborious iga mention the reason she was removed from the ds games was because she wasn’t fast enough with their designs and they were looking for a more kiddy/anime image for their games.
I don’t like the main character to be honest she’s looks too passive and the color palette their using kinda reminds me too much of the ds games.
I was debating whether I should watch two hours of this, but I am glad I did! Learned so many interesting tidbits and facts about SOTN. Now I am more hyped for Bloodstained if Iga wants to up what they did in SOTN.
I don’t see a problem with the main character, reminds me of Shanoa but that nose!
As long as they don’t pull a Mighty 9 graphically I’ll remain excited for this.
Shit… downloaded SotN as suggested, been playing it well past my bedtime. Old school games were so much harder and addictive! Tempted to donate more now. I never had PS1 so my Castlevania experience started from NES and ended at N64, never played anything beyond the 3D one (which wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be, I had fun.)
I’d argue that several of the designs and the roles the monsters seem to play take the place of Cthulhu. I don’t see it being all that different from the way Konami made up their own version of the Dracula story. And it’s not a bad thing in any way.
What about Super Metroid? I’m having a bitch of a time. I got too deep into Norfair without essential powerups. So now I need to walljump my way back up a corridor with those floating turds to get out of where I am.
Super Metroid is pretty tough, especially if you try to jump into some specific areas before getting properly equipped. Notaries well fuck you up without the Varia suit and Granfaloon can be pretty brutal depending on the rng pattern you get.
SOTNs problem is that the RPG mechanics quickly invalidate the difficulty of the game, and a decent number weapons and weapon combos are ridiculously broken. Good game, but hard it is not, imo at least.
I haven’t played a CV game in over a decade, gimme a break. Only just beat the mirror battle, haven’t gotten deep enough into the game for anything other than the basic sword.
That’s why I think the RPG level up mechanics should be removed. Maybe you find life containers like Metroid, or you just go through the whole game with the life you start the game with. The big flaw of SOTN IMO, is it has no challenge at all. Way too easy.
You may want to start again. If you defeat Dracula under certain conditions (not taking damage, not grabbing any sub-weapon, beating Dracula under a specific amount of time), Alucard will start with better stats. You want higher luck!
[details=Spoiler]Alucard’s stats are influenced by the manner in which Richter killed Dracula in the introduction stage.
If the entirety of the Prologue is finished in less than 1 minute, Alucard earns +5 HP, +5 Max Hearts, and +5 STR, CON, INT, and LCK. It should be noted, however, that such a feat is legitimately impossible until the player completes the whole game, as the 'Die, monster' cutscene is unskippable otherwise.
If Richter manages to kill Dracula without receiving any damage, Alucard earns +5 HP.
If Dracula is defeated without having a sub-weapon in Richter's possession and without using the Flame Whip, Alucard earns +5 HP, +1 STR, CON, INT, and +5 LCK.
If Richter finishes the Prologue with the Holy Water equipped, Alucard starts with +5 MP and +5 Hearts.
If Richter finishes the Prologue with the Cross equipped, Alucard starts with +10 MP and +5 Hearts.
If Richter collects more than 40 Hearts, Alucard starts the game with a Neutron Bomb in his inventory.
If Richter loses all of his HP, Maria will make him invincible for the rest of the battle. Alucard then starts with a Potion in his inventory.
If Richter finishes the Prologue with no Hearts, Alucard starts the game with a Heart Refresh.
Combining the best of the best of these bonuses legitimately possible in playthroughs after beating the game, Alucard can start the game with 85 HP, 55 Hearts, 14 STR, 13 INT, 13 CON, 17 LCK, and 25 MP. All bonuses pertaining to sub-weaponry and items are not included, however, as very few, if any at all, are legitimately possible.
The real “problem” were not the RPG mechanics, it was the amount of broken combos that you could run to make the game easier for you.
Once i got the shield rod and the alucard’s shield it was GG for everything on the game.
