Play it. I also was quite late to the party and only played it a few years ago. Such a joy to play. If you have a PS3 you can buy it on the Playstation store and itās pixel perfect and controls great.

Because Konami sucks the best version of SoTN Is the xbox 360 version.
If you had to get another version then get the psp version. If neither are an option then get OoE if you cant Get OoE because of a lack of ds/3ds (Fuck is wrong with you?) Then it was never meant to be.
See the many images that were marked with the words āCONCEPT ARTā
Itās not their fault people canāt fucking comprehend that phrase. They said it was going to be 2.5D, they said that was all concept art, and that the final wouldnāt look exactly the same as that. I do personally think it could have looked better, but that has everything to do with art design, not money.
Really, for me, the biggest thing from the M#9 Concept Art that I am sad isnāt in the final game is the lighting. The Concept Art shows some really great looking lighting but the game itself is pretty flat in that department. shrug Oh well.
Iām surprised people harp so heavily on the Concpet Art issue tho, I mean fuck when is the last time a Final Fantasy game looked like this?
Thatās a very solid point. And Iām sure the whizzbang engine they are using can run circles around whatever effects they are going for.
I really feel like Mighty No.9 is a throwback to the early PS1/SS/N64 days when console devs were just trying to figure out how to cross over from 2D to 3D.

The best version is the original PlayStation one release. They got rid of the cheesy song that plays at the end credits which I grew accustomed to, instantly making it the worst version. PSN re-release has input lag just like any other PS1 classic(or actual physical copy) of PS1 games played on a PS3. I think playing it on a PSP or Vita eliminates the input lag?
I was playing it on a PS1 way back in the late 90ās. My last playthroughs were a few years ago with the PSN release, and I slammed the PSP re-release as well even if it has terrible replacements to the voice actors.
Ayami Kojima was such a fabulous partner to Yamane. A female tag team that put out true art. Visual gorgeous designs accompanied by musical compositions rarely matched in video games. Unfortunate. I am glad they got Yamane still, we know the music is going to kick ass guaranteed. SOTN is the only soundtrack of any video game (or movie even) for that matter that I own. That should tell you how much I love her work.
Iga, love or hate his games, is insanely passionate about his projects.
Castlevaniaā¦a series Iāve loved since CV1 on the NES, let me tell you it blew me away. The music, the design, the tight gameplay. I think Konami has been trying for awhile to force Castlevania to be 3d. However why does it have to be 3d like most other big budget modern titles? There are many advantages to 2d, and no 3d Castlevania has captured the feel of the 2d gamesā¦they havenāt felt like Castlevania gameplay wise.
Anyways high hopes for this game. I hope even with the metroidvania style, it has the challenge of the pre IGA games. Maybe omit the experience level gain system.
Iām glad Kojima isnāt back. Her artwork is gorgeous, but her characters tend to all look the same. I wouldnāt mind if she was back, but Iām not really missing her at this point either.
i think a big part of the overall aesthetics of SoTN, which made the game such a big hit, was the artwork it was based on.
consider this: star wars owes a lot to ralph mcquarrieās artwork for the general look and feel of a āused universeā in all of the films and i feel itās the same way for SoTN.
ayami kojimaās designs are a great influence to the art direction which makes the game relevant with current platform standards. it has also somewhat influenced all of the later installments of both 2D and 3D castlevania titles, proof that her artwork is a major component that i personally miss for igarashiās latest endeavor.
