BLOODSTAINED: RITUAL OF THE NIGHT aka the Spiritual successor of Symphony of the Night

Yea followed up with “the game looks like this we promise” when they went out of their way to point out the the exact opposite. I read just fine, its not my fault you said something really dumb to try and bolster a point.

Yea it does sounds and look a bit like OoE, but a lot of people liked that game (I haven’t gotten to play our myself) and it was the most original take on his formula in a while so honestly I’m glad he seems to be latching onto and looking to expand on a concept of his that actually seems to work well, and people really liked.

Anyway out seems silly to making “dooms day” proclaims until there is something to actually like up with that mentality.

With that said I’m not the biggest iga fan, I am also am keeping my expectations in check which is a good idea for any game currently in development honestly.

Are you seriously this fucking stupid?
9 times out of 10 I and most other people prefer another mode especially a fucking pure classic platforming experience, over a stupid port.

Jesus this is like 50% of the arguments on anything related to castlevania ever.

Inafune went apeshit after seeing how much money he got on kickstarter. It’s almost like he wasn’t expecting it , or something. He just went MAD !
Iga on the other hand quit his job and knew that CV fans would keep a close eye on him and support whatever he would do next.
It’s obvious to me that the guy cares for his fans.

With that said…

He always looks like a hobo in photos lol.

Pretty much why I stopped engaging fans of the series. That’s all it’s ever about. Arguments.

I never made the claim they wrote or told people that, but showing off stuff like that to hype of what a game is supposed to look like before you have a working alpha is basically doing exactly that. Any sort of fine print is only to cover their ass in the event that it doesn’t look like that. It’s a standard industry practice that I wish would go away, for example recently using The Witcher 3’s PC version to advertise the Xbox One version, and then later blackballing screens of the PC version and only showing the Xbox One version in attempts to cover it up. “Oh wait, we didn’t mean it would look like that, this is what it looks like! There is no other that!” We can agree to disagree on this if you want, and I’m totally cool with that. I feel it’s a way to mislead and hype people into giving lots of money. It was obviously successful considering how much money the KS is at.

Anyway, OoE is an ok game, but it follows the Iga formula to a T. It’s really not all that different from SotN, just has worse graphics (they aren’t consistent styles, some are black outlined, some are still from fucking Rondo… and some backgrounds are god damned pre-rendered) and lower quality music. Story is the same old stuff Iga’s been pumping out for the last 2 decades. Hero vs Rival, Hero vs Surprise Villain. The one thing I liked was the town that served as your central hub and the world map to select stages to visit. The game was ok, souls powers was a lot like the Sorrow games so if that isn’t your thing then you probably won’t like the game. Not my thing, I preferred well designed weapons and fun combinations of said weapons, but the souls act as weapons at times and was handled better than the Sorrow games. The game has good combinations of powers going for it. Out of all the games post HoD, it’s probably the best one.

How does having a port deny you a classic platform experience? We already got it when classic mode stretch goal was met. Asking for the game to appear on other platforms isn’t unreasonable. It would be better for the game than 8-bit tunes.

i used the goofiest looking one i could find on google.

Bruh what does your shitty opinion have anything to do with you coming at me with some bullshit like some whiny bitch? You over like “what assest? Blah blah what you talking about willis?”, when the shit is in your own fucking post.

As far as ports being stupid, well I don’t know about you but if I could sell my game on as many platforms as possible and make the most money in order to secure a spot for a sequel and make a franchise out of it pretty sure that NINE times out TEN that I would do that over making some outdated mode that runs counter to what the people that kickstarted the game in the first place wanted.

Not saying that there isn’t a desire for that sort of thing but to make it a focus over getting exposure to your product is laughable at best, just like your posting history, now begone from my existence fuccboi.

Of course, we’re both doing nothing more than pulling shit out of our asses, but I see it as Iga saw how successful Inafune was in pulling in mass amounts of cash to lazily make a game with and decided to follow in his footsteps. Probably sent him a text asking how he did it, and Inafune hooked him up with the same creative teams doing his shit. “Yeah, you’ll make a boatload of money, and after you don’t deliver on your promise, you can ask for more! And they’ll give you more! Oh, and then here are some guys you can pay to do some work on the game for you when you feel like it.” That’s how I imagine it went down, and that’s the cynic in me, lol.

I don’t think Iga really cares all that much. If he cared he would have fought tooth and nail to be making Castlevania and get a real budget to make shit, but lost out to Mercury Steam. Funny how they could manage a budget to make games, their own engine, and crazy good art as a 3rd party and he couldn’t get shit as a first party in the company he worked for in a country highly xenophobic who gave a budget to gaijins. I dunno, he rode on the success of SotN constantly promise to recapture it and failing. I used to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, still love the fuck out of SotN and HoD (not the shitty XBL/PSN Diablo Loot Drop Crack Clone) but after so many games of doing the same thing and never breaking a formula, I gave up.

Oh well. Honestly, I hope it’s successful, and I hope the game breaks my expectations and blows me away. If it does, I’ll happily buy it, but to me and having been a fan since the 80’s, he has a lot to prove.

The whole basis of your simple ass argument is you’d rather see raised development dollars go to shitty ass ports over additional modes that “reuse assets” that have yet to be created.

It’s hardly anyone here’s fault you are to fucking stupid to formulate the connection between limited development budget going to features that actually deliver what people want over porting the game to another system if it’s not a quality product. That’s the mirror of fate arguments all over again.

Your smokescreen of copy paste r/kappa insults do nothing to hide the fact that you can’t bang two Neurons together to create enough fucking brainpower to understand what the terms limited budget mean.

You got one thing right though, we are done with this argument, next time take the snorkel out of your own asshole before trying to engage in conversation clearly out of your depth.

can we get tl;dr versions of what you 2 fellas are trying to say to each other?

lol why is everyone freaking out?

And about the asset reusing… Doesn’t Bloodborne repeat the same Chalice Dungeons? I don’t know. I’m asking. What game doesn’t reuse assets? Calloduty

@toddler316 he has made some good points in his own special way. From a business perspective, more platforms to make sales from is a much better business decision than paying someone that same money to essentially rearrange art assets for a new mode on a single platform. A good game on multiple platforms will make more money than a better game on a single platform. More customers = longer product lifespans and potential franchises, brand name recognition, and so on. All that means more sales and profits to make more products. That means a new company gets to stay in business.

Also, if a KS is on the way to hitting stretch goals, that means the budget has surpassed its limit, which means the budget is no longer limited, which means extra money to spend. If that extra money can in turn be used to make even more money, then that takes priority over a feature that doesn’t make more money, if you’re in it for pure profits alone.

Assets are reused in chalice dungeon , but the dungeon itself is randomly generated.

Should the budget assuming it ended right now go to porting the game or adding features and which one covers a greater number of fan wishes.

It’s likely we’ll both look like asshole and the drive will provide both.

Don’t even know bruh, I posted a comment about it being lame for a stretch go to incorporate recycling shit from the game before it’s even made and this dude flipped out acting like I made the shit up even though I got the info from HIS post lol. Now he is shitting on ports like they are satan or something. I couldn’t give a fuck though, by the time this game comes out I will have forgotten about it faster than I forgot this scrubs screename.

Edit: El oh El @this fuknga tryna save face when I just tore his whole head off.

For clarification only the Root Dungeons are randomized, not all of them.

yeah i forgot that part. thanks crotch !

That’s the funny part, i’m not against ports. I have seen what true reused asset games like HoD online actually are over giving a Richter mode.

I do believe there is a clear cut priority though and making the best version of the initial release should be of higher priority then re-releasing it scaled down as a ported version.
