At least they’re still doing games, and also Ono (one of the proteges) is in a very high position right now. At the same time, their lessened output is understandable cosnidering that the zeitgeist of this generation has moved away from Japan and onto the west.
So, last year I bought Order of Eclesia, Portrait of Ruin, and the second Sorrow game because I was itching to play some Castlevania and wanted to support Konami (HA!). Haven’t played any of them yet. I gave my 3DS XL to someone as a gift and I am thinking of getting that new 3DS XL in the not so near future. But I feel I wanna play these games on a larger screen. Are there any good DS emulators? Does anybody know if a save from an emulator can be transferred to a game card and viceversa?
Either the next stretch goal is 3DS/PSV version (I hope) or it’s the last stretch goal according to this:
“Our budget left us with two options: Build the biggest, most beautiful game we can, or make sure it runs everywhere from the start. As things stand today, we can’t afford to create the two separate versions of this game that would be necessary to make it run on every console. That said, we’ve heard legends about a remarkable treasure hidden in the castle basement…”
MN9 streatch goal for 3DS/PSV ports wasn’t reached until 3.5 mill…I really hope this gets a handheld port, CV in my hands feels so good.
I honestly I hope the “let’s go full retard” thing they choose to do instead. Guacamelee, Strider and to some extent Rogue Legacy gave the format a lot of breathing room. If they can take lessons from each and push it even further it’d be amazing.
Ever since the Bloodstained announcement, I’ve had this urge to replay SotN. I can only play the PSP version since I don’t have a PS1 handy, but the PSP version has extras.
Do it. I was playing the PSP version years ago, but I stopped. Found it very tiresome having to enter the other game and then search for SOTN to start playing it.
i hope concept art stays concept art after seeing that castle. Not that it’s ugly or anything , i find the whole picture impressive ,
but that dosen’t look like a castle to me. Looks more like a temple/altar or something.
Maybe Cainhurst from BB has made me a spoiled brat , idk.
Real hype for IGA’s biggest castle though , woop !
Maybe at 3 mil. Even if they have other plans for when they hit 3 , i’m sure they’ll port it later down the road.
They are well aware of how well-suited igavania’s are for play on handhelds , atleast so i hope.
He’s definitely teasing some kind of port for the final stretch goal. Probably Wii-u but if you have to downgrade for Wii-u might as well do 3DS/Vita too.
I wish IGA would use the extra money to increase production value and port to as many platforms as possible than scrambling to add new pointless stretch goals like cheat codes and speed run.
In all honesty… the amount of effort it takes to develop for a new platform probably costs way more than some of the stretch goal amounts. Where as adding a speed run hud is probably a task that will take a couple of weeks. Cheat codes a bit longer, depending on how creative they are I’m guessing it will be relatively simple stuff (Godmode, infinite money, full map etc) where all they will need to do is switch a flag on. Things that can just be assigned a task
Working on multiple platforms is hiring new designers/developers expensive.
Disclaimer: I think. I don’t really know for sure. Except for the first part. I love SR HUDs.
This is how Kickstarter projects with more money than they planned for go overscope really fast and then largely fail to deliver. It’s best that they keep it small and just use the money for polish rather than going all out with different ports and expansions and whatnot.
