Bloodborne thread

I enjoy hitting then with the lhb 2 hand leap attack.

Best way to deal with Winter Lanterns is to spam attacks that will cause them to stagger so you can kill them before Frenzy pops or they grab you. On my character that uses Ludwig’s, I found spamming L2 works wonders and they die before Frenzy pops. For my Chikage character, just attacking them with the blood form of the blade is more than enough to keep them staggered; just need to be careful about your health draining.

My D and Boomstick builds

I wish I was even half that good at making character faces.

So I was bored and decided to start a new game plus. I have 99 insight, what is the best thing for me to use it on?

Depends on the build and weapon you are using imo.

30 everything except blood tinge and arcane. I think bt is around 22 and arcane is like 10 or so.

Personally i tend to buy paper from the insight shop unless my weapon wont support buffs.

The trick imho is rotate often the model, it give you better idea of how it will look ingame

Gascoigne was harder in NG+. Dude killed me like 6-7 times. I think I’m just going to only fight bosses that are mandatory. Amelia was fairly easy, now I’m trying to remember where to go next.

Man Burial Blade is such a cool ass weapon, but it’s a complete shame you get it at the very end/post game. Can’t wait to use the Burial Cleaver when the DLC comes out. I hope you don’t get it post game though.

Been playing again lately to warm up for the expansion. Going further into the Chalice dungeons, and I think I’m finally going to create a BT character. I still have never once used the Chikage.

I actually like the Chalice Dungeons overall. Literally the ONLY thing I ABSOLUTELY HATE about them is that progress is individual per character. Which, I mean, makes sense, but it’s way too fucking tedious. They should at least unlock chalices per entire player profile and at least have progression unlocks to buy all the basic materials for every non-root chalice already.

Edit: Also, Depth 5 Loran Abhorrent Beast and Darkbeast were fucking awesome fights. Abhorrent especially. More than ANY other Souls game I really wish this game had a boss rush. Some of the bosses in this are as good as some bosses in full-on action combat games like DMC/Bayo.

Also I really think they should have made Gascoigne’s beast form un-countershot-able. It really would have made that fight crazy intense even on later NG+'s

First time I fought Abhorrent Beast I just chipped at him with foosies and punished whiffed attacks with an attack or two. That fight is not that bad so long as you don’t go too aggro. I cheesed him by kiting on my Chikage character though since getting damage on him without 2H Chikage sucks.

That shit about Winter Lanterns wearing the Plain Doll’s clothing is mind blowing. I hope we get to learn more about the Plain Doll in the DLC, but I’m sure we won’t get any concrete answers.

Working through NG+2 on my first character to get the last ending I need for the trophies. When I got to Logarius, I blew him up in less than a minute. Felt so good. Haha.

I fought him using just BoM and Old Hunter’s Bone, and I was as aggro as I could be. It’s really fun and frantic that way.

That’s what I like about BoM most, it really forces you to stay right next to the enemy and figure out how to dodge and counter things. It also really shows you how well(or not) an enemy’s attack patterns are designed, and in that aspect IMO Abhorrent is like, top 3.

I still need to do a BoM build. I have a Skill/Bloodtinge build that I’ll probably try doing a BoM playthrough with on one of my NG+ runs.

Had anyone ever heard of a viable STR/BT build?

No, because they don’t exist.

I figured so, they don’t seem like they would complement each other very well.

Not unless you REALLY want to get the most or your guns…i guess.
