“Hunters have told me of the gods and their love, but do the gods love their creations? Would you ever think to love me? Of course, I do love you. Isn’t that how you’ve made me?”
This gave me some context on the game. While it does deal with the horror of eldritch truth, you are not meant to feel powerless. You are everything the great ones are, using the dream to travel between realities, an inter-dimensional being, a God in your own right.
was just working on chalice dungeons this weekend. what a pain in the ass. so repetitive and boring, then i made a root isz chalice with all 3 offerings (the third one is curse) and proceeded to get violated by amygdala… so regretting the fact that both of my leveled up weapons are close range, ARGH
All you have to do is stand right under her head and use an attack with an overhead swing. She can’t really use her harder hitting swipes to hit you there, and will use her jump stomp move a lot more. When she jumps stand perfectly still and she’ll land and miss you every time while repositioning herself right on top of you so you can continue to swing at her head. It’s a really scrubtastic way to win, but if you are really stuck I say go for it.
So I finished my 150 meta build going off of my first character

Recently purchased a PS4 and Bloodborne. Being my first Souls game, there has been much to learn for me to learn, but apparently I’m doing pretty well for my first Souls game and not getting completely bodied. Only 19 total deaths by the time I brought down the Blood-starved Beast. I guess I play extremely defensive and calculated, as opposed to just attempting to go ham like some players like to do. Game is very fun… but boss fights stress me the fuck out. After BSB I needed to take a short break because of how stressed I was. Haha
Yeah BSB is definitely an early wall, I actually recommend going in MORE than you think is safe if you’re a more patient player. Like, not to be reckless but just to be more confident in your ability to survive basically.
BSB is hard? Never had trouble with him, that attack you can parry usually finishes him off once he gets into his second phase. Or it at least puts him at deaths door.
You can’t buy Firepaper at that point i don’t think, your stuck with the 3 Alfred gives so make the best of it. Unless something has changed they’re not even available in the Insight shop.
Vicar Amelia for me. Always hear about how hard she is but I’ve never once died to her on a NG run. Shrug
BSB is pretty easy… Most of his attacks can be dodged just by walking forward and to the left… Also you can just throw a cocktail in the corner and swing away at him til you need to throw another one. Plus you can always use Alfred in the main game if needed.
I guess Vicar Amelia is hard depending on when you run into her I guess? I one shot her but I did have minor knowledge beforehand from watching a friend’s stream a few months back. I completely forgot she heals though and that took me by surprise. Didn’t know you could use numbing mist on her as well (had some in my inventory but completely forgot about them).
The difficulty of bosses also depends on what weapons you use.
Stake Driver and Hunter’s Axe can murder Vicar Amelia super easily for different reasons. The former can actually chain stun her and can get you easy viscerals, and the latter has such huge health regain on it’s rally that you can basically just hack away with Charge R2’s
Seems like people have problems against different bosses.
BSB was definitely one of the easier fights in the game for me and this was my first souls game. I think in my first playthrough I died to him 3 times max.
I had a lot more trouble with ROM and Ebrietas. Dark Pearl beast is also harder.
I died more to Cleric Beast and the second boss fight than BSB.
