Bloodborne thread

I haven’t had TOO much trouble with the Defiled dungeon, but then I’m like BL140, so I have just slightly more leeway than those who stopped at 100-120. Still only 40 vitality, so not THAT much more leeway, but still.

Granted, I bashed my head against Amygdala a few times, but that’s mostly because I forgot the dodge timings.

Okay, I take that back. Defiled Amygdala is a bastich.

Rahaha! Got’im.

Platinum is mine. As has been said by others, the hardest part is really the final boss of the Defiled dungeon. Some fun, fairly challenging fights to be had in the final dungeon too, though.

Final stats!

[details=Spoiler]
Final playtime: 106 hours 50 minutes (though a chunk of that was me just leaving the game running or doing PVP). First playthrough of the regular game done blindly, no guides used for how to beat bosses. No summons used (that really does clinch this game as being easier than DS1 or DS2).

Final blood level: 140, though not a really focused build. 40VIT, 32END, 23STR, 51SK, 17BT, 27ARC.

Still used the Threaded Cane for just about everything except for the scorpions, which were weaker against BoM. Hunter’s Pistol +9 pretty much always in my left hand.[/details]

I indeed did read Lovecraft before I turned 18, and played this game as Dark Souls fan with no idea what was coming. I love it.

Man, PVP with the Beast Claw is super hard. Maybe I’ll try out the Logarius Wherl instead, I just need to finish Alfred’s quest line or whatever. Do you guys have any advice on the weapon? Usually I infuse it with Arcane but is there an optimized damage type for it? Maybe I could try switching some Blood Gems around…

Either way, I still have the Burial Blade as my default weapon. I’m 2 bosses away from the end and I’m still having a blast with this weapon. I think it’s safe to say it’s my favorite in the game.

Got the last of the three endings today. This game was a blast to play.

Thats the only weapon I’m missing. I know you have to get it in a chalice dungeon but I haven’t messed with those that much. Just did one that had a depth layer of 3.

I had a lot more trouble with the dog in that dungeon - took a while to get it’s patterns down and figure out when I could and couldn’t attack. Amygdala felt similar to the first time I fought it - I was a lot less concerned with being one-shotted (probably erroneously) - and I did just stay behind it and chip away during it’s final phase. Cheesy, but I didn’t care - I just wanted that dungeon over with!

The final final boss was an interesting fight, I thought - a range and style of attacks not really like anything else in the game. A bit too much running around in that fight, but I enjoyed it!

Congrats on the platinum, though - and to @Arkkai!

Everyone complains about the Watchdog being so hard, but I didn’t have too much trouble with him. Died a couple of times, sure, but that’s par for the course with a new boss when you haven’t got a ton of life. Tough fight to be sure, but no worse than a few of the regular fights when I first played through the game.

[details=Spoiler]I got the dodge timings down, learned to get behind him and recognize the signs of the charge attack, and that’s all she wrote.

Of course, helps that Watchdog didn’t actually oneshot me with anything unless I was hit dead center by the charge (thus being hit twice) or doing something stupid like being right next to him when he did his AOE attack. With proper fire defense attire, the best HP rune and 40 VIT, being grazed by the charge attack took me near death. Enough that I could still heal.[/details]

I dunno if Defiled Amygdala is any more one-shotty than regular Amygdala - those powered slams in the later stages one-shot me when I fought’em in NG+, too, albeit at a lower level. But, it feels like there’s less room to move in Defiled. And damn, but Amygdala has some unpredictable tracking.

I remember fighting another player who had a katana. I want it. What’s it called?

Boku no Chikage

Just started

Pretending it’s the 3D Simphony of the Night Konami never given to us

That’s pretty damn sick.

Yea man that is dope.

I guess like for other souls games i’ve to wait to have enough HP to be fashion

Just wanted to say FUCK LOGARIUS I finally beat that bastard last night. Fucking cheap ass shit.

Never had trouble with Logarius in my experience. As long as you stay in his face to his right and avoid the skull shotgun you should be good. Ebrietas now…fuck dat bitch.

Dat feel when someone’s character makes you want to restart the whole game. I made Shadow Man though so I ain’t too mad.
