Bloodborne thread

every playtrough of mine i just grab the items and titanite chunks and then go straight to logarius.

Logarius is kind of hard, but the second form is annoying. I actually figured out when to tag him and it was a bit eeasier. I just couldn’t get greedy so I had to hit him every so often.

Just charged R2 Logarius when he’s transforming and the fight is a cakewalk, he won’t gain his bullet deflection buff if you cancel out that second form transformation

…he has a bullet deflection buff?

I can definitely see how some wouldn’t even realize it. Dude gives you a TON of time to get that backstab off.

I beat him without the backstab, but only because I thought he was charging a really nasty spell.

Yeah his second form deflects all quicksilver bullets, don’t know about the cannon though. Tried to parry his second form swings and ate serious shit when I tried, you can see the bullet deflecting from his body as you shoot it’s a nice touch.

Thanks for the tips.

This game or style of game is extremely gratifying. I’ve also screamed a few times when enemies snuck up on behind. It’s a very tense game because death means something. I’m probably going to give the old games a chance.

When I first beat Cleric Beast, I pretty much jumped out of my seat.

Father G pissed me off so hard, you could do so well and just get killed quickly for no reason. I put the game to rest and woke up the next morning and gave it whirl and lost again. When I finally beat him, I completely destroyed him and barely used any blood vials. After that, I was hooked.

Going through the Chalice dungeons for the trophies, and came across this little glitch.

This is version 1.00, so I’m not sure when they fixed that skip in Yharnam Center if this was fixed too. I’ll find out in a little bit when I decide to update.

So here’s a tip for those of you getting into chalices: Don’t skip a (non-Root) chalice because you’re overleveled and see that you have enough materials for what seems to be the one after that in the series.

I was getting back into chalices after having ignored them since a good way through NG, and found myself grinding already-completed Hintertomb chalices for a certain material. I thought there’s gotta be a better way, looked it up… And then it turns out that not only is Lower Pthumeru harder than any of the Hintertomb ones I’ve unlocked (I actually died on the second-level boss a couple of times, as he hits hard enough that some attacks oneshot me at 40 VIT), but it contains an essential item and ALSO all the materials I needed.

And Lower Pthumeru was, of course, the one I’d skipped. And of course I’d forgotten that I skipped it, since this was a playthrough and a half ago.

Level 92 now. still stuck on ebrietas after a day. I can get him down to less than half heath pretty quickly and relatively unscathed.

Those lightning attacks can pretty much one shot me and they are hard to dodge multiple times. Argh, gonna give it another whirl.

Just summon someone to help its piss easy that way

I’m doing PVE the whole way and I’m too cheap to spend $50 on playstation plus to get help :*(.

I changed my equipment slightly to defend better against bolt and I Found out how to dodge the lightning attack from away, problem is he does that stupid thing the depletes your health when you’re up close. I got a bit wreckless trying to kill him quickly before he depleted all of my health and he swung his arms at me and killed me.
I read that this is one of the hardest main bosses so I might have to give up on this one and move on to beat the rest of the game.

Soloing bosses is a lot more gratifying and brings out the best of these games anyway. I can help you out with Ebrietas some, don’t read on if you wanna tough it out.

So Ebrietas has two moves that are a pain to get around. One is a long range dashing attack that is basically guaranteed to hit unless you play unlocked or time it very precisely which can be a pain, and a second attack in her second form that is magic based.

To get around the dashing attack, just play unlocked and roll horizontally away from the dash attack. If you’re playing locked and sidestep you don’t move as far out as you could as you’re simply rotating around Ebrietas rather than dashing away from her.

To dodge the magic attack. Run for the hills. No other alternative I have, just good stamina management.

To deal damage to the thing, there’s one or two attacks that have her lower her gross fleshy head to the ground. If you stand mid spacing from her she’ll perform these attacks if she’s in her first form frequently. Use bolt paper and a powerful weapon and you’ll drain her life insanely fast. I think she’s weak to piercing attacks?[/details]

Finally started this game over the weekend. only played for 40 minutes, found and bodied cleric beast so now i can level up, idk where i’m supposed to go now though. gonna do another round of exploring like tonight.

I can’t get into chalice dungeons. They are visually uninteresting, most of the stuff you find are material to get into other chalice dungeons and the original enemies are boring. If it weren’t for the bosses and having the best bloodgems in the game I would completely skip it.

Chalice dungeons are definitely less interesting than the rest of the game. They get very formulaic, which is understandable considering the way they can be procedurally generated… But it does mean that you fall into much more of a pattern than with the rest of the game.

That said, I do like the bosses, and I do like the designs of some of the individual rooms. Lots of clever mini-challenges in there.

I think part of the problem is that the rooms tend to repeat between dungeons… And when you’ve been through a room a few times, it gets tedious to have to comb it again. This goes especially for the bigger rooms, like the multi-story garden and the swamp.

Must admit, I was bored stupid of the Chalice Dungeons by the time I’d finished them. Pretty sure I’ll never bother with doing them all again.

The only reason I’ve done the Chalice Dungeons as much as I have was to get the Chalice-Specific equipment like the Beast Claw or Bone Ashen Set.

Some of them are really cool though, and it’s nice to have the option to work on some ā€œside missionsā€ if you’re feeling a little burned out on the main game. The deeper dungeons have some pretty cool designs, and the indoor storms are a nice touch…

Oh yeah, I also had my first real rage quit yesterday.

Was trying to get the Orphanage Key on NG+ yesterday as I finished up the last remaining things on my checklist for this playthrough. Went in there with 24 Insight.

I came out with none.

Seriously, fuck the Upper Cathedral Ward and fuck Brainsuckers. Those are the stupidest fucking enemies I’ve ever seen in a Souls game period, bar none, no contest.

Old hunters bone and hit those fools with the
