Bloodborne thread

That prick will kill you with one hit of The Power Within if it’s a direct hit regardless of your setup. If you want a strategy that snaps the boss totally, nail him with poison knives before you jump on him. Embrace the cheese.

Shooting him will stagger him right out of the exploding star spell

Nevermind, I beat Micholash on my first try after coming back, with the strategy, “Just wail on him”.

I was actually bashing my head against Micolash in my NG+ run yesterday, too. GOD, that was annoying. I was determined not to cheese him, so every time I got hit by his spell that was another bout of easily running around in his maze, easily beating his first proper round, easily running around in his maze again, and then finally getting to the head-bashing part.

And that is when I found the actual strategy to keep him from doing his stupid Call Beyond at all. Because unless you can stagger him indefinitely, just mindlessly smacking him around will get you knocked away. And if you’re just a LITTLE too late in interrupting his CB cast, it’s still gonna fire.

[details=Spoiler]Stay JUST out of range of his punches and keep strafing, smacking him with a long-range weapon. Keep strafing and his Ebrietas arms won’t hit you and knock you away.

If his Ebrietas does hit you, don’t stay back and heal, because while you’re out of melee range he WILL do Call Beyond. Instead move right in again, and heal while his attacks are whiffing.[/details]

Was also doing a bunch of invasions yesterday. Still getting the hang of proper PVP. Even a little latency means that parries are hard to pull off.

The one thing that’s stuck with me is that you need to never ever ever get stuck on scenery. The only really guaranteed victory is if you can stunlock someone in against a corner where they can’t dash away.

Off Topic. But is there going to be a Witcher 3 thread?

Seems like a better question for the Video Game General thread…

Make one if you want one.

I didn’t find anything I liked as much as the Threaded Cane - another starter weapon - and took it through NG++…

Should I be interested in that? I haven’t played the other two…

Towards the end of NG+ here, and I’ve been learning to enjoy the crazy stunlock of the Blade of Mercy. It complements the versatility of the Threaded Cane pretty well, so it’s permanently in my second slot now.

I will say that the Saw Cleaver strikes a nice balance between the Cane and BoM. If you as a threaded cane user wind up in an R1-spamming contest with someone with the saw cleaver, they’re going to win because of (from what I could tell) better damage and better rally. Plus, despite the slightly shorter range it actually seems to be easier to hit someone with the cleaver. Something about the hitboxes.

What the cane has over the cleaver is mainly whipmode, which is way more versatile than the cleaver’s giant-barber’s-razor mode. The cleaver has shorter range than the cane untransformed, but each cleaver swing covers so many degrees of motion around you, it seems to be better when you’re mobbed up close.

Of course, the cane also has Dat Stab, which is WONDERFUL against braintrusts/winter lanterns. In the end, that and whipmode makes the cane win out over the cleaver for me. But, damn. Those two weapons are honestly some of the most satisfying I’ve used in the Souls series.

I think saw spear is hella underrated the fast r1 of the cleaver with a nice stab about charged rapier r2 range. Torch I think is a sleeper in pvp so many armor sets have no fire resist.

Currently rocking rapier + bom

I really don’t wanna restart to do a pvp build but I got about 7 too many points in strength and 4 too many in blood tinge Im debating between pumping points into arcane or splitting them up between vit end and skill

Something like

35 vit
20 end
16 str
25 skill
23 bt
25 arcane

Comments?

This fucking guy in the Grand Cathedral is an asshole of the highest level. One shot from his pistol doing 80% after I out play the shit out of him is infuriating.

Yo for sure that guy at the end of Eileens quest is fucking bullshit. His stats are maxed (tho from what I understand all the NPCs stats are maxed) and all his weapons are +10. He does RETARDED damage. Dudes also got an Old Hunters Bone and unlimited ammo. Dudes a gigantic asshole.

He’s not very smart tho. Cheese strat: [details=Spoiler]When he transforms the Chikage you can back out of the Cathedral and break his aggro and he wont transform the sword back, so it will just eat away his whole fuckin life bar and kill him.[/details]

Seriously, it’s no wonder Eileen is fucking rekt on the steps outside lmao.

What weapons are you planning to use with this? If you only want Reitherpallasch and BoM and aren’t using spells then just pump SKL. BT doesn’t need to be raised at all cause it doesn’t help gunshot damage much unless you use evelyn and have it at at least 30BT. Also, Reiter’s gun damage is boosted from gems and buffs like fire paper. You’ll get much better returns from just upgrading SKL for the sword than wasting more points than necessary in BT.

I’m guessing you have 25 ARC to use some spells but IMO ARC should either not be touched, be at 15 for the tools, or just go all the way to 50 for all of the spells.

STR definitely doesn’t need to be at 16 unless you’re planning to use Ludwig’s for some reason.

saw spear is useless when compared to saw cleaver , but that is just my opinion.

also regarding the cainhurst knight in grand cathedral , way back i discovered a way to cheese him out real easy.

edit : whopps @crotchpuncha beat me to it

Never played more than 3 hours in Demon Souls, Dark Souls, or Dark Souls II. I couldn’t get into those games but I love bloodborne. I’m at above 40 hours in Bloodborne.

Nearly rage quit after Cleric Beast and Father G. Thought I got pass that until I reached ROM the spider and nearly gave up on the whole game again because he was so cheap. I think I got lucky beating him.

Right now I’m at level 90 and I’m losing multiple times to the Ebrietas. She/He doesn’t seem that tough or difficult pattern wise but she packs a punch.

Not sure if I’m going to do nightmare frontier or cainhurst castle. I’m almost at the end of the game, just need to beat nightmare of mensis and the area after that

Nightmare Frontier is like mid-game optional area so you should go there now. The boss there will be really easy for you already though. Cainhurst is a bit harder, can be difficult up to lvl 70 or so depending on how hard you find the boss in it.

I think Cainhurst Castle is really easy, It’s Logarius who is tough. Much like Ebrietas he hits really hard.

Ah, well yeah true in some ways. I mostly just remember trying to kill those flea women and the boss and they killed me plenty the first time around. But like the amount of damage you do and take shows me it should still be done after Frontier. Frontier’s enemies are not really that tough, but just dealing with the area itself can be.
