My first encounter with Rom we Double KO’ed each other, seems like it’s fairly common, lol.
Picked up DaS2 for PS4, I might have to reevaluate my previous comment of Bloodborne being better than it. It’s quite amazing to see how a few tweaks here and there, different item/enemy placement, etc. can change your entire perception of the game. I’ve heard changes run rampant throughout so I’m eager to carry on in this new version. So far though, it seems MUCH MUCH better than DaS2 vanilla.
Feel free to share thoughts on those. Left is one gonna be a female Arcane using Blades of Mercy and maybe an infused Threaded Cane, and the right is a male Bloodtinge build with the Rapier as a primary and Chikage as a secondary.
I picked deprived on every Souls game when making PvP builds because it made all of my stats 11 and it looked clean. Major OCD, you can make every stat 10 and be level 10(Starting level excluding Waste of Skin) when you pick Waste of Skin so my OCD approves of doing that with any build possible.
Why have such low Skill when you’re making a build around the Chikage/Rapier?
The other one looks pretty solid though. I haven’t gotten to try out the Blades of Mercy (since I’m pretty sure you get that from Eileen the Crow) but it’ll probably get pretty insane once you start upgrading it.
I’ve heard increasing the strength and skill stats doesn’t affect their damage output as heavily as Souls games did, and that runes + upgrades are much bigger factors. And a friend said the Chikage’s L2 activation with high bloodtinge is mad powerful or something. I also wanted to make use of the rapiers gun attacks because that weapon isn’t used much and looks interesting, wanted more of a “gunslinger” if you will.
And I’m mainly wanting to make the arcane build because of the Old Hunter Bone, that thing makes mobility like SSS+ tier, rolls are so quick. Along with A Call from Beyond, which looks like insanely powerful if you bait someone into walking into it. Messenger chameleon trolls are a nice novelty as well. Looking forward to the fun of the Arcane build as opposed to the competitive nature of the Bloodtinge build…just can’t be bothered to grind out the single player again, it takes so long!
Makes sense. Personally I’d probably take 5 or 10 out of Bloodtinge and put it in skill, I’m interested to see how that build works out for you either way.
I’d rather take out of VIT/END and keep the hard cap for Bloodtinge, I might try and make room for the Skill soft cap now you mention it, is 25 the soft cap for VIT/END as well? I’ll change both builds into having 25 END if so.
Vitality Soft Caps at 30 and Endurance is 40.
Blade of Mercy is going to be really weak with Skill stats that low. It’s arcane damage is just a bonus that helps with enemies weak to arcane, it’s not really the main source of damage.
Just so you know, Reiterpallasch blade damage only scales with phys stats, it’s gun only scales with blood, and it never gets good scaling. It’s a good weapon but I think it’s better for builds with low blood which would allow you to carry something other than a pistol in the left hand.
But yeah Chikage scales better with Blood IIRC but only in trick mode. However, in that mode, it gains a pretty huge boost.
Arcane builds definitely can be viable PvP, you just have to play differently and learn to use the arcane items well. If you really only care about Old Hunter Bone, I’d suggest just dropping all that arcane to 15 and putting it in Skill. You’ll still get to use Beast Roar this way too, and both of those items are really good for melee. If you want to use A Call Beyond also, just remember to create blood bullets before casting so that you can conserve your ammo for other items(or guns) also, cause that thing costs 8 bullets.
Definitely want to have at least one gun on hand and the Rune that restores QS bullets and probably the one that restores HP as well.
Finally got to the End Game. Gonna hunt Great Ones now.

Can you actually summon in the Hunter’s Dream? It’s letting me ring the bell now that I have to fight Gerhman, but nobody has showed up after an hour and a half.

You can’t use it anywhere… There are specific areas where it’s available, like near a boss and near the lamp.
You can use it almost anywhere but you can’t use the beckoning bell in an area you’ve already beaten the boss in, you have to use the small bell if you want to help others. If you can’t use the beckoning bell in a level then uhhhh…
Are you sure you’re not trying to ring in a boss room? Are you sure you aren’t somehow getting kicked offline or that you didn’t start the game in offline mode?

Can’t wait to get this, beat Demon souls and Dark souls with ease and got bored after many new game plus. I don’t see why everyone finds Dark souls and Demon souls so hard. Hopefully this game will be a lot harder.
Bloodstarved Beast is nothing… until that bastard goes berserk with the damn poison cloud. Who thought that was a good idea? Rifle Spear is a disappointment. All I know is that he loses badly to side stepping to the left.
