Okay so here is my character (Ronin) and his stats. Basically on stats I’ve been focusing on Vitality and Endurance. I’m still in the cathedral quarter, but I am trying to get strong enough to beat those two npcs (shotgun guy and lightning guy). Any tips on where I should start focusing on leveling?
Are you talking about the tentacle thing? The Augur of Erebieas or whatever? If so, you find that in the real version of the Hunter’s Dream. It takes 18 Arcane to use and it’s actually pretty damn strong for only using 1 bullet per use.
There’s also this other Arcane item that I have yet to use but it sounds like what you’re describing. Description says it shoots lighting out on the ground and all around you in different directions, but I can’t try it yet because my Arcane isn’t at 25.
It really depends on what you’re gonna want to do, what weapons you wanna use, your playstyle, ect. You seem to already have a shit ton of points into VIT and END so I’d probably top VIT off at 30 and maybe get END to 25. After that you can probably focus on your other stats for a long while. I’m at level 70 and my VIT is only at 20, for instance.
You’ll have to tell us more though. What kinds of weapons do you like using, specifically? Do you spend a lot of time dodging and dashing or going for the power hits? Do you plan on using a lot of Arcane items or Guns? Give us deets, brah.
The one that has a bunch of homing light arrows? Yes but it requires 40 Arcane to use. It’s called “A Call Beyond”. It’s a bit hard to use I’ve heard as it doesn’t really home in perfectly or anything so you have to use it from the right ranges but it can do a ton of damage if spaced right against bosses. I think it requires 8 bullets to cast.
So I’m learning some very interesting things on the lore. Spoilers for those who don’t want to read.
[details=Spoiler]Apparently, the source of all these horrors might actually be aliens.
The Great Ones (the big giant things covering Yharnam after killing Rom, or a.k.a Amygdala) are often referred to as “cosmic beings”. There’s even the boss called the Daughter of The Cosmos, which I’m sure is also related. A lot of stuff regarding the whole “dream and nightmare” aspect is still pretty ambiguous though. It’s hard to tell whether or not the city is trapped in a dream of some sort, or if the Hunter’s Dream is actually real, ect ect. [/details]
Just so you know we do have spoiler tags: [ spoiler ] [ /spoiler ] just remove spaces in brackets
Anyway:
Spoiler
Calling them “aliens” misses the real meat of what they are. Just like Lovecraft mythos stuff, they’re extra-dimensional beings. From what I’ve read in items and stuff the dream/nightmare is how they interact with humans, being the only way they can as they are, again, extra dimensional. Like you could still call them aliens, for sure, but they’re not just things from another planet, they’re from a straight up different dimension
I just got to the Spider boss Rom, the hunter right before the boss was a pain in the ass. Pushed my shit in like 15 times.
I was not expecting the boss to drop like 15 little spiders. I noped out of the game and logged was in no mood for that shit last night.
[details=Spoiler]But yes, I agree. I’m using the term “alien” very loosely as I do feel it undermines what these creatures truly are. If they require a female surrogate to procreate then that might explain why we only see a handful of them. But that also doesn’t mean these creatures don’t exist in larger numbers than what we’re shown in the game…
My question is: Why Queen Yharnam? Why is her blood the source, and why does she have this blood in the first place? Were the Great Ones really responsible for the spread of the plague? [/details]
So many things unanswered. Or more likely, we’re not asking the right questions.
No, I did see that, that’s why I reminded you to use the tags because that’s why they’re there dude. You should probably still go add them in.
Anyway:
Spoiler
yeah the Yharnam thing I don’t even know. Apparently if you kill her she drops a key item that no one knows any use for. For the disease, the idea was the Healing Church wanted to commune with the great ones by using either Yharnam(if she’s related to them) or probably Ebriatas’s blood. So I think under the guise of healing they administered it to many people but most just became beasts, almost like devolving I think, to a state of instinct. Some sort of went the other way, becoming greedy for knowledge and insight.
I don’t see the point when I clearly stated the post contains spoilers at the beginning of said post, but if it’s that important to some of you I’ll go ahead and spoiler it.
But maybe…
Spoiler
The Queen has this blood in the first place because the Great Ones used her as a surrogate. Maybe the Church actually captured the Queen to use her for this very purpose, and that’s why she’s locked under the vast catacombs of the church. So in turn, maybe she miscarried and gave birth to The Reborn One. It does kind of look like a REALLY fucked up Amygdala, and it’s about the same size as all the other Great Ones.
[details=Spoiler]No I’m pretty sure she gave birth to the baby the Nurse is protecting, that’s why she’s there. Once you kill the nurse, you can go back down to her and she’ll like, bow to you and then disappear. So I doubt The One Reborn is directly related to her.
Also I still think Ebrietas is the one they were getting the blood from. She’s the one who’s kept in the inner sanctums of the Cathedral, not Yharnam. The latter may be deep in the ruins or whatever, but Ebrietas is the one that’s there and essentially being protected it seems like. Plus all the weird great one babies in that area… Maybe Ebrietas and Yharnam have become related in some way though…[/details]
