Bloodborne thread

Finally had some time to play some more. Just wanted to say, I fulfilled my mission of using visceral attacks on that pig in the sewers. Coincidentally, this was right after I ate some pork belly for lunch.

What level are you and what’s your build?

At the time I was lvl 58-59 with +6 Rifle Spear and 30 Health, 30 Skill, 13 stamina, 17 Blood tinge.

[details=Spoiler]
I had plus 7.3% phys attack buff with an additional 2.1% phys attack buff at full health gem.

4.8% phys attack buff with 0.8 poison effect added.

4.8% phys attack buff with 4.7 poison effect added.[/details]

Personally I would skip all poison effect gems because they didnt help AT ALL and go straight for your highest phys attack buffs at all times. Poison will NEVER proc on PVE enemies. Pretty sure it’s strictly for pvp lol.

Don’t be trolled by gems that increase your weapon scaling if they reduce damage because weapon scaling doesn’t help your damage compared to Phys % increase.

Damage increase to beasts or increase to Kin % is the ONLY stat I’d put above Phys attack. That actually has a huge increase on damage.

No wonder you’re murdering everything, your level is pretty high already lol

Also poison can work on enemies but I’ve only encountered one enemy that it actually worked on unfortunately. It doesn’t seem to be any good in PvP either though. Hopefully there’s some blood gems further down in the chalice dungeons that have like +50 or something cause as it is, even at +26 I almost never saw it work.

so can anyone tell me right quick how to equip Molotov cocktails so I won’t get bodied so quickly. I am so confused on how to do it.

Remember when I was complaining pages back about being lost? Yeah I got frustrated and did some chalice when I was only like lvl 18 or 21 and while getting my shit wrecked trying to counter bosses with no counter window I lvl’d up alot when I eventually won.

My stat aren’t the real problem tho. Fighting the chalice monsters at low lvl trained me to had godlike timing on dodges and forced me to master using the terrain against the cpu in order to survive.

So now regular game stuff is all lower, weaker versions of stuff I’ve already killed before and at a handicap at the time at that.

Chalice also trained me to never use or rely on counters because the bosses there had none and the enemies counter timing was hard as fuck. So I barely even use counter bullets in alot of my fights outside chalice because I forget that it’s viable again.

Press start and go all the way to the bottom row of the boxes that pop up. Press X on an empty one select Molotovs from the menu that scrolls down.

Once done exit the pause and press down on d pad until molotovs pop up on the box next to your blood vial and bullets.

Press square to use whatever item is currently in that box next to your vials and bullets.

That is your quick item slot and one of the most important things to master to make your life easier in tough spots.

Try to select a box that is most left as that is the one that comes up first.

Using this method you can swap between molotovs and poison knives with ease. Or any items you use alot extremely quickly while staying in the fight.

Hope this helps.

So I think I may be almost ready to fight the Cleric Beast. I am level 17, but for some reason feel I should be a bit stronger. Wondering if I should just collect souls for the time being and just keep returning to the hunter’s dream to get stronger.

As far as leveling up, what are the stats I should focus on the most (rated best to worst).

Getting rocked by Cleric Beast. Took out father gauscone I think it was.

Can’t figure out how to get stuns on the cleric beast with the gun reliably.

Yessss, I beat the Cleric beast. I thought I was done for when he grabbed me, but I got lucky. finally beat a boss, lol

lvl 17 is fine, even default level is fine really.

VIT=END>anything else

HP is the most important defensive stat BY FAR, with stamina being both offensive and defensive. Attack stats(that is, the other 4) should only be leveled when you want to meet weapon requirements and after you’ve decided what weapons you want to use the most. Once you’ve settle on a style of weapon, then just pump the stat for it. Just so you know, the last stat, Arcane, doesn’t see a lot of items or weapons for it til kind of late game unfortunately, but it does scale molotov and flamethrower damage up, and those are really quite powerful

Larger monster boss stuns are more about damaging weakpoints than timed shots. In Cleric’s case it’s his head and longer arm. If you damage his head enough frequently enough, he’ll enter the stun state. Same with the arm. It doesn’t work consecutively though, like you can’t just keep doing it to his head, he has to like refresh or regenerate or something first.

There are some mid-size monster bosses that can be stunned with gunshots but it’s unfortunately not very easy to tell when it is. You’ll just have to try. Cleric I know is the weak-point method though, and at least anything his size or larger is the same.

Don’t go for parry stuns on the Cleric Beast. Just slash then dodge to the left.

Stay near them thighs when fighting the Cleric Beast. I tried the parry method and was getting rocked. However, CB can’t do much when you’re first in it’s face, circling and attacking its backside. All it does is sit there and swipes with its hand when you’re in front of it.

sneak peek at my lvl 75 skill/bloodtinge build

PVP has never been more fun imo.

What’s the natural story progression route? At this point, it seems like my only options are Martyr Logarius, Shadow of Yharnam, Amygdala, and Darkbeast Paarl.

Finally found and killed the Dark lightning beast or whatever the fuck it’s called in haoden Gaol. First try I killed him also like the last 4 bosses. Already started uploading things to youtube to save them.

Not long after I did my first pvp match at Nightmare frontier which I also just opened. Some fool with a Great Sword double wielding trying to fight my big ass spear LOL. Finally killed him on a gun counter when he was drinking a vial. Was pretty close until that point hahaha.

Viseral attacking people to finish them off in PVP may be the most satisfying thing I’ve experience in a while. Felt like a real life fight with me judging distance and playing the matador. Pretty estatic I won my first Bloodborne PVP fight

May have over prepped because I used the poison def buff rune expecting poison knife cheese but haven’t seen any so far. Personally I like to stock up on bone marrow ash and take advantage of my high bloodtinge stat since most people went stupidly all str it seems.

Also use the rune for 4 extra bullets because as soon as someone uses a vial you can murder their shit free lol.

I need one Blood Rock and then I’ll finally have this Rifle Spear fully upgraded. Then I can get to work on the Chikage. Or you know, once I actually get it.

Anybody want to try and meet up? I’m level 60. It seems so hard lately to try and find other people. I waited in the Yhargul Chapel lantern for about 3 and a half hours and not one person showed up. Waited even longer at Cainhurst while I took a nap and still couldn’t find jack shit. Hell, I haven’t even been able to successfully invade/Pvp anyone yet.

Shadow of Yharnham looks like the most important out of those, if you’re trying to progress.

I’m on level 83. I should be able to connect with you. I got through Cainhurst a few days ago and I can help you out with it.

Wanna try and help me out with the Martyr then? I can head there now. I’ll set up a password and shit.
