Soooo some interesting stuff is going down. Mild spoilers ahead.
I was exploring the Medical Towers for a few hours. Its an area that’s led into by a door that opens up apparently after killing the Blood Starved Beast boss, to the right of the Cathedral Lantern. Apparently there’s a boss somewhere in this area that allows you to equip Caryll Runes once killed, but I have yet to find it. Instead, I managed to descend down into an abyssal chasm (not too different from the Gutter area in Dark Souls II) and found a few interesting enemies down there, as well as another rune.
Well, at the end of this abyssal hole, there’s a door that leads into another city area of the map. Roaming the streets of this section is an enemy that, apparently when it kills you, will pick up your body and take you to a completely different level. Pretty much like in Dark Souls 1 where Seath kills you the first time, and then you spawn in a prison-like segment. Well, same scenario here. And the enemies in this prison are dangerous as fuck.
Turns out you can’t just die to escape, either. You’ll keep spawning here every time you die and there’s no lantern. I’ve managed to get out a few times and stumbled across the hardest boss I’ve faced yet…Darkbeast Paarl. Pretty much a huge mass of electricity, bones, and pure evil. Kind of similar to the Cleric Beast but infinitely harder in every way what with all those AOE attacks he has. Me and two others couldn’t even take him down.
Might have to resort to the Hunter’s Mark to get out of here. Lol.
Edit: Oh sweet fuck…you can’t even use the Hunter’s Mark to leave. I might be trapped here until I kill this boss…you’ve been warned, fellow hunters…
Welp, I ended up in that prison too. I thought I could handle that guy because I saw him in the Chalice Dungeon I was in earlier and they aren’t much of a problem, but this particular one was way stronger lol
Edit: There’s an official message that says “Madmen toil surreptitiously in rituals to beckon the moon. Uncover their secrets.”
Everything in that prison can one shot me if it feels like it. Those little witch things with the daggers will literally grab you and slit your throat over and over until you die, too.
Also, when you take a right out of the prison gates and go down the stairs, did you notice that woman NPC? I wonder what purpose she serves. She didn’t seem willing to go back to the Cathedral sanctuary like I’ve gotten some of the other NPCs to do.

Just got back from vacation, thank god for this game right now as it’s already killed my post vacation blues. Just downed the first boss and I’m loving just about every fucking thing about the game so far. (Please be consistently awesome from beginning to end)
Damn you guys make progress… Im still stuck in the first part -.- havnt even made it to the first boss 2 hours in. Game feels harder yet easier than ds2. Love the enviorment tho, also its made me jump a few times wont lie it can be scary at times too. I cant wait to get home and get my ass handed to me some more
To get to Henwick go to the Grand Cathedral where you fight the boss. When your facing the door where you fight two guys holding large sticks go to the path on the left. The path will lead you to a cave that will take you to a cementary filled with hounds and snipers. Past the cementary you’ll find a lantern and Henwick.
Spent a hour and a half to beat the wolf at the beginning of the game barehanded. Why? Simply because I kept going back in and not checking the skellies on the ground afterdeath smh. I thought why would I? All they gave was useless tips before. Ugh so fucking retarded. At least now I’m godlike at dodging shit 1000x times and using the environment to my advantage.
Seriously killed that wolf and fought my way through half of Yautman at the pace of a turtle with polio. With a fucking Bloodtinge build barehanded because this dumbass likes guns before actually checking out the shitty skeletons on the floor which for some reason is where get your first gear from. God I felt like both the biggest baddass ever and like I shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce once I found out.
Checked the clock and it’s like 2:50am and I have to work in the morning so clearly I have no fucking idea what the hell any of you are talking about because…I’M STILL IN THE FIRST FUCKING CITY! So I just started killing as much shit as possible and building bloodthingys up before sleep to blow off stream.
Oh also I loss all my blood thingys because I got cornered by two of the same kind of wolf that I fought bare handed at the beginning because I was exhausted and was’t paying attention at that point FUCK! So I ended up going to sleep pissed. This is my first time playing of these games and normally I never go in blind on any game but for some reason I didnt wanna ruin the mystique or whatever dumb shit…sigh…so get ready for my journal of fail in this thread.
