Finally managed to wax cursed amygdala… that asshole really really frustrated me because I got stuck on him before i had my own ps4 and was playing on my roomies. Then i finally got a ps4 of my own and picked up this game before the dlc but got so distracted with other stuff it took me forever to catch up to my first save. So after a few months since i got stuck and gave up i bodied him last night and went ahead to kill the queen as well.
it’s funny, on my own ps4 the last 2 achievements for platinum are to get the 2 easier endings, gotta accept the offer and gotta kill that fool once without 3 umbilical cords…
i think once i have that out of the way i might try to speed run this game, i really enjoy it. Anyways i’ll prolly edit a couple of my boss fights soon and post them up.
one question now though, what chalice dungeons do i need to farm to get my hands on a lot of the top tier blood gems? now that rocks are easier to get i have like 5 rank 10 weapons and not even close to enough blood gems for all of them.
You can buy blood rocks from the insight store for 60 insight. I believe you have to defeat Mergos Wet Nurse first.
Before I actually take a break, I decided to finish the new game plus game my original, super powerful character was on incase I want to play through with him again. I had a really weird fight with Micolash though. He somehow got behind the cage that comes down in the second room you fight him in but kept running towards it, so I could still hit him despite not being in the room with him. He would still try to hit me, using Augur of Ebreitas and A Call Beyond but I’m not sure if he could actually hit me or not. Either way it made the fight even easier than normal.
@crotchpuncha - The patrolling anchor shark will get just close enough to you that you can nail him with a ranged attack, even though you can’t lock on. I drew him with a thrown knife, then smashed him repeatedly with the Beast Cutter or whatever the huge chain-sword was called.
2 from my first playthrough, then i got 1 from old hunters in ng+, bought one with my insight and then had enough items to get another 2 more for insight… it was then that i realized i am not even close to set on gems when the 3rd weapon i am settling for 14% att gems. yuck
That giant fish man might have picked me up and devoured me whole, but I will have the last laugh. Imagine what shitting out a Chikage and and Cainhurst helmet would feel like.
What number of NG+ does Maria start the fight by leveling up with both blood and flames? I’m on NG+5 and have never seen this until I was summoned a while ago by someone. My summoner died so I couldn’t even gauge it by a blood echo count.
Been doing co-op a lot against Maria, such a fun fight. I had Blades of Mercy and Beat Roar on loop against her with 2 other people. Poor girl was certifiably gang raped in the corner by us without ever having a chance besides her two power up animations.
Decided to fight the Orphan of Kos with my blood tinge character.
HOW BIG IS THE FUCKING HIT BOX ON THIS FUCKING THINGS WEAPON!
Seriously, as much as I enjoy the fishing hamlets setting and atmosphere, fuck the enemies in this area. There’s nothing creative about their challenge. And whoever told From that OoK’s constant high pitched screaming is cool was lying. Sounds like Vega getting a hot poker up his ass.
I never felt like the hitbox was the issue in the OoK fight. Much like the big ol’ sharks, the real challenge is the range and delay on his attacks. The string he flings it around with ALSO hits you, which caught me unaware at times.
It’s funny that honestly, his second phase takes less practice to get through, since you can rely on more standard dodge-around-and-counter strats. Once you know how to dodge his AOE attacks, it’s honestly not that bad.
He’s a sucker for back stabs, if you are really stuck, just be patient and run like a chicken shit until he opens himself up. First phase, when he does his jump attack, simply run under and back stab during his recovery. Second phase wait for him to do either his high jump to slam down move or his multi overhead smash combo, both moves take quite a while for him to recover from. If you have some Clawmark runes equipped it won’t take many to finish him.
