TWO AND A HALF HOURS…

Just pre-ordered, going in blind.

I’m not liking having no fog gates when you encounter a boss for the first time. I like to be prepared before encountering a boss.

I dunno man, just depends.

@crotchpuncha hope you get it real soon.

also… Brace yourselves! Click at your own risk.

First reviews are in : http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/bloodborne

Lol, not a single review below 80 yet. Sounds about right.

BTW if anyone cares, my friend wants to watch me play so I’m going to stream it on twitch. I won’t have a mic on though

what’s the name of your twitch channel?

Just killed the first big guy, that was a really intense fight for a non boss lol

That hooded bruiser is a jerk, apparently you have to wait and counter him with the gun first, then you can use that visceral attack. I think two of those should put him down.

So I’m playing the saw cleaver + blunderbuss combo. I have to say, it’s grown on me. The aoe mode is real good to have that long reach, but since the enemies lunge at you so fast I’m mainly using it to wipe out 2 or more mobs of people. I’ve taken to trying to keep everyone in front of me and killing the bloke with the torch first when you arrive in the new area.

This game.

Best game.

I’m using the Threaded Cane and Pistol. Threaded is SO damn good. Having a straight sword+whip both with full movesets is crazy useful.

Found Saw Spear, trick function is same as Saw Cleaver but more range and different moveset in spear mode

And so begins the ballad of a blue bastard:

OH MY GOD.

OH

MY

GOD.

The Father Gasciogne fight may be one of the single most thrilling experiences I’ve had since Metal Gear Rising. My blood is FUCKING PUMPING. Holy crap the MUSIC and the TRANSITIONS and the VOICE WORK.

WHAT THE HELL. YES.

Still getting wrecked by the cleric beast. What’s the best way to deal with this?

Well, you can actually shoot his head at certain points to get a riposte but I’m not sure when exactly. I kept trying but I only pulled it off once, during the recovery of one of his attacks. Aside from that, use Oil + Molotov to do a ton of damage too

Does not locking on to it work better? I notice that when locked on, the camera tends to go to weird angles.

Well, as long as you avoid corners that shouldn’t happen much. Still, fighting bosses unlocked is never a bad idea as long as you know how they work

BTW, just so people know, you need a minimum of 10 Insight to be able to buy the co-op answering or invasion bells.

Been watching LobosJr’s stream… The AI is this game is on another level for some of the humanoid enemies. It legit looks like you’re fighting an actual player.

Damn. Right now I only have 4, and I’ve only had 6 total. I’m not entirely sure how you go about getting Insight besides killing bosses and finding Dead Man’s Knowledge or whatever they’re called.

Cleric Beast was a pushover compared to the Father boss fight. That’s currently where I’m stuck. I can’t even get mad when I die against that dude though, because it’s such a well designed and genuinely challenging boss. I’ve never seen such an intimate display of combat between two people in any of the Souls games. He’s scary fast, unbelievably smart, and versatile as fuck. It’s such a fast paced battle and I feel it really encompasses the general pace that this entire game goes at.

God. Everything is SO FUCKING GOOD so far. I can’t bare to take my hands off the game for even a second.

I was on the fence, but the enthusiasm has convinced me to pick this up.

Question, this game is mainly solo with opportunities for co-op (Chalice Dungeons) or is it more semi-MMO with other players running around like Destiny?
