Bloodborne thread

You probably know this already but in case you don’t, stab/thrusting attacks works well.

I think the key is to relax and realize that the brainsuckers and mosquito shit flies don’t track very well. If you hop before their attack, they will miss. I was able to beat Rom on the first try. The key there is a lot of patience and always having your camera on Rom and the meteors fall, run perpendicular from the direction of which they’re falling.

The next area is Yahargul Unseen Village. I remember this area is a bitch to deal with so I think I’m just gonna hang out in Cainhurst Castle instead. #procrastinating

Fuck you Laurence. Finally beat that bastard last night. Got the dungeons and a couple ending trophies to get for the platinum. Awesome game top 5 for me all time

Different approach on the “jump down instakill ladder trick STR build required” etc.
This requires more timing and precision for obvious reasons i will not mention.

I’m at the last boss of the DLC, and holy goddamn shit.

Spoiler

The Orphan of Kos is fucking ridiculous, I haven’t even gotten him down to half health out of my at least dozen attempts. I’m guessing he gets even more obnoxious halfway through his fight. Can’t hate on it though, he’s a really cool boss and I love that whole area as a whole. It’s pretty much this game’s version of Valley of Defilement, and it’s splendidly disgusting.

@crotchpuncha did you ever beat the Living Failures? We should play some more later today.

Nope, I never gave em another shot after we quit yesterday. Id be down to try them again later today, but just got home from my 3am shift, havent slept since 10am yestarday…fuckin nap time yo.

Blood Rupture rune is your friend on this fight. For some reason you gain like three to four times more health back from visceral attacks during the fight.

Yea its a glitch.

Parrying him sounds nice on paper, but once I’m actually fighting him again I’m sure I’ll be too terrified to do anything besides the usual method of "hit once and dash backwards 6 times"

Parrying/back stabbing him in phase 1 isn’t so bad so long as you know what to look for. Phase two… well, you’ll see why.

Just beat the Orphan yesterday. One of the more annoying fights I had in the game so I cant wait to see it in new game plus.

Martians on NG+3 lool. Normally i wouldnt make this kind of recommendation Martian but your so high up in the NG cycle that you need all the help you can get. Vaati’s dlc boss video is really good, id take a look at it as Orphans moves arent actually as dangerous as they seem.

Speaking of Vaati, another Insight video on the DLC.

Nightmare Slain.

Just tidying up the playthrough now. Not sure how long I’ll stay here till’ I move into NG+4.

Gonna spam this thread with lore speculation/impressions in due time.

I have to admit, I am feeling myself a little bit now.

I am much harder to kill by way of my own stupidity and less susceptible to dying to fuckery (though it still happens).

The Witch in the woods and Amelia went down pretty easily. I was surprised at how easy Amelia was actually. What’s the next wall I hit? Or I feel like maybe I now grasp the systems well enough that there are no more walls.

Why did the Old Hunters have to go through this? Just Kos. pffhahahahahaah!

(I think someone already came up with this joke though)

The next boss in the woods might get you. He can be tough for some people.

Those two are actually some of the easiest bosses in the game. Don’t worry, I felt myself on Amelia the first time I fought her (and one shot her). In fact I’ve only ever died to her once and it was by my own stupidity.

Amelia can be tough if you’re underleveled when you face her, since if you’re trying not to get hit at all, she does have a couple of delayed attacks… And if your attack’s not up to par, and she’s in a healing mood, the fight could take ages.

But yes, I think I have yet to die against the Witch. That one’s more of a puzzle than anything else, and once you have it figured out it’s easypie.

The witch is easy enough but if you are having trouble you can go back with no insight and she’s even easier.

The only boss I would say gave me any real trouble (more than 3-4 deaths) was [details=Spoiler]Gerhman[/details]. He probably killed me somewhere between 5-10 times. I don’t know why because every time I’ve fought him since I beat him with no real problems. Ebrietas killed me at least 5-6 times too, actually. Oh and of course Defiled Amygdala, who probably killed me at least 20 times. She took me so long to beat because I’d rage quit and not play the game for a few days.

Other than that, I think every other boss was a one or two shot.
