Bloodborne thread

My playstyle when it comes to bosses relies heavily on parries because Evo Moment#37 and so the hardest fights for me were Waifu Maria and Orphan of ShitKos because their parry timing are gay. GAYYYYYY

Bloodborne wins GOTY on gametrailers over the Witcher 3.

Woo hoo!

If you think your damage isn’t up to snuff, or don’t even want to deal with the healing problem, there are 6 free Numbing Mist in Cathedral Ward. I always snatch these guys up for the fight, then it’s not even an issue.

Oh yeeeeah. It’s easy to forget that regular enemy tactics actually do work on bosses here and there.

Yea agreed. The Shamen Bone Blade is an item with "hidden uses as well, like it works on the Shadows of Yarnham boss for example.

I didn’t think it’d work on Shadows of Yharnam, but then again you don’t actually get a Shaman Bone Blade until some time after that boss.

Shaman Blade is also useful against those fish giants at the bottom of the well, when you’re trying to get the Rakuyo.

Those brain suckers that steal your insight also drop them.

I beat Queen of Yharnam… Nothing else for me to beat.

Now beat them all with half health! Kappa

Is the Bath Messenger the vendor I can buy the final upgrade piece from? I have my Cleaver at +9, I need it at +10! I took a break from this game for over a week, I stopped once I got to the Nightmare of Mensis(sp?) but now I’m back with a vengeance.

I beat that boss who keeps running away from you. First attempt was brutal, I got hit by one of the skeletons he summons which smacked away 25-30% of my health, then that Mico guy immediately hit me with a follow up attack that killed me. I died in two hits on that fight, didn’t even get a fair attempt my first try.

you can get a blood rock :

from the bathtub messenger vendor after killing Mergos’ wet nurse (last boss of the mensis area)
at the cost of 60 insight.

or

from the 2nd underground cave in the fishing hamlet (dlc area)

You can also get a Blood Rock in The Nightmare of Mensis. Its underneith the Great One who is casting Frenzy on the whole area.

Up to you to figure out how to get in there and get the Blood rock safely tho :coffee:

Bloodrocks can also be found in chests in depth 5 root chalice dungeons ONCE PER TYPE ONCE PER CHARACTER (excluding Hintertomb). This does not reset in new game plus, hence the ā€œonce per characterā€ note. Layer 3 and 4 depth 5 chalice dungeon bosses also have a small chance of dropping Bloodrocks.

Best method to get Bloodrocks is probably just farm Insight by doing co-op through the Short Ritual Root Chalice.

I got that specific Blood Rock, but before I did I flipped a lever and what looked like Demon’s Souls 1st boss fell down to a lower level. Not sure how to get to him.

Watch this if you don’t mind being spoilered:

I thought you were posting the location of the third Guidance rune. B-baka

Awesome, thanks.

I backed up my save file since I’m at the end of the game, I also just beat the boss at Cainhurst Castle. Getting there and the aesthetics leading up to it in the cutscene was straight out of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Now I’m thinking about killing the end boss then restoring my old save so I can go back to the end-game. Other than Chalice Dungeons what should I be going for? Also I feel this game is really short compared to other Souls games.

I’m like 90% sure the tier 3 Guidance rune doesn’t exist and is a mistake by the guide, or the game is currently bugged and the rune does not drop like it’s supposed to.

I’m sure this is probably a pretty common thought among BB enthusiasts but I’m new to this shit and this is the first time having this thought:

I cannot imagine a more perfect formula to bring back the Castlevania series with. So much of what Bloodborne does well is tailor made for Castlevania. The non linearity, the atmosphere, the combat. Though I would think Castlevania probably shouldn’t be this soul crushingly difficult, it still works.
