How did you read today’s chapter and not realize that Aizen could give two fucks about a prison? Aizen will escapse a prison whenever he damn well pleases.
Aizen might not care about prison but my point earlier is Aizen felt it was better to avoid Yama’s shikai flames and either lacked the durability or spiritual pressure to tank it, in contrast to Royd taking an incredible amount of punishment before dying. In regards to Aizen’s current prison, obviously he doesn’t care and in my first post on the chapter, I mused that he probably trolled Buckbeard when he entered and made his proposition.
So…Kenpachi got bopped by a fake Juha Bach? Dammit.
He “was” one of the baddest motherfudgers in mangas for me. Especially since he never used his bankai and still bodied people. But eh, what can you do against plot shield. Still salty how he went down.

Royd is a Quincy, his abilities differ vastly from the abilities of Aizen who is a Shinigami
The quincies gather their power by collecting the spirit particles around them
I am pretty sure that the technique that they are using for defense is something completely different from whatever a shinigami could use.
I wouldn’t be surprised if their barrier/defense uses the spirit particles of the surroundings to get stronger, considering that SS is made entirely by spirit particles, and that the reiatsu is made by spirit particles as well, is only logical that no matter who is the person doing the technique, the defense would be always strong specially on a environment rih on spirit particles , we only need to look how the right hand of Yuha Bach was near to the bankai as well and didn’t have a problem.
And before pointing the other quincies that got murked when tried to attack Yamamoto, remember, they can’t use the defense technique while attacking.
Following this logic, we can assume that a quincy using the techniques used on this arc would be able to cancel the prison of fire where aizen was trapped, because the fire is made of reichi as well.
Does that mean that those quincies are stronger than aizen?
No, just that they have tools that counterpick many of the tools of the shinigamis, like quido and their very own existence :looney:

Can’t wait to see what sort of trash talk Aizen has for everyone after he’s freed. He’s had around 1.5-2 years in prison to come with new (godlike) material.
So it just dawned on me that the most interesting part of this chapter may be WHEN Juha went to try to recruit Aizen.
It made sense to go for ichigo before the war started, but the war is basically done once Yama jii falls. If you already know you can steal the old man’s bankai is there any reason to recruit Aizen over killing him this late in the game unless you still need the strong people for another fight after soul society?
So… any idea on who/what the other 3 “Special War Potentials” may possibly be?
This nigga played Swords of Revealing Light to stop his turn, then used change of heart on his bankai and bypassed his shinigami to attack directly.
