It still is impressive considering he did slash him while being affected by KS. That’s a huge feat. Look at all the trouble Gin had to go through to counter KS.
That captain team up would have worked there at the end against any other character but yeah…Aizen being Aizen.

You know what was one of the best fights in Bleach? Shunsui vs Stark. Why? Because they weren’t stupid enough to tell each other exactly what their abilities were. The fight was predicated on them feeling out each other’s moves. If either person told the other how they worked directly the fight would’ve ended a lot sooner.
I don’t give a shit that he was the first one to slash Aizen, big fucking deal. He could’ve actually done work if he didn’t say shit.
But maybe I should say I’m sorry. I forgot that people like to be content when they get a modicum of success and feel like it’s worth talking trash about. So why should Shinji care that he got fucked up because he talked in length about his abilities? He was able to slash Aizen once, obviously that’s all that matters.

That was what I was talking about before. Read that fight again. Shunsui was OOC in that fight for all his pragmatism.
And remember this, Shinji had his life ruined by Aizen with the whole hollowfication thing along with his Vizard partners and he just witnessed Hiyori, which he cares about, get cut in half. Considering all the resentment saved which took a century, the only surprise was that Shinji didn’t try to behead him at first but he wanted a slow death for Aizen, to torture him which considering their history was understandable but clearly a mistake, it happens.
He gambled that Sakanade would bail him out but in the process he underestimated Aizen’s intelligence to adapt quickly. That’s all it was.
Also, looking back, considering that the only ones to damage Aizen were Ichigo, Gin (who took a massive inside job to do so) , Isshin, Yoruichi, Kisuke, Yamamoto (on a suicide tech) and Shinji and they all lost, that’s not bad at all. He’s in elite company there.
Aizen is just that good.
Are people actually surprised thay shinji talks shit and acts cocky as hell? Its in his character to act like that. The only exception was aizen and I think its because all the resentment he had towards him made him want to not just torture aizen but to just make aizen feel insufficient. He really wanted to embarass aizen.
While it would have been ideal for him to just gank that german chick, its not something shinji would do. And I doubt the german chick can adapt as good as aizen can.
How was he out of character? The ONLY Shunsui fights before that point were against Chad and Yamamoto. The first ended within 5 seconds. The second was off-screen and was against a guy who already knew everything about his powers. We didn’t know jack shit about Shunsui in a serious fight until he fought Stark so stop that noise right now.
And I don’t care that his life was ruined by Aizen. Killing him should’ve been enough. You do not give that powerful and intelligent an enemy time to adjust to your powers, let alone outright explain how they work. That’s a sorry excuse for a mistake, especially when he spent so much time preparing for the day he would fight Aizen again. This isn’t like Toshiro going off the handle in that fight, where Aizen manipulated him into thrashing Momo 5 seconds before hand, while also being a kid. Shinji had YEARS to handle that type of rage. To know that the only revenge necessary is his death. Slow death? Are you kidding me?
Bitch please, I don’t care if he’s in “elite company” by being able to hit him. I only care about people who get the job done. And guess what? The people who actually got the job done against him? THEY DIDN’T BOTHER TELLING AIZEN HOW THEIR SHIT WORKED! The only time they did was after it was already successful. Gin got screwed by the Haxgyoku. Kisuke didn’t say a thing about his sealing until after it was already in effect.
I’m sorry no, Shinji doesn’t get a pass and doesn’t deserve to get a pass. He’s just a fucking idiot who thinks that his Shikai is so almighty that he can just coast on it and shit talk all he wants.
