Nice to see two of my favorite characters in Shinji and Sajin in action. Sajin looks bad-fucking-ass with the Templar knight look.
They are trying to do a train on Bambietta (which seems to be E for energy or explosion) and Shinji just straight out dominates her with his hax Shikai, no Hollow mask or anything. Shinji also seems to stab her there at the end which forces her to Vollstandig.
Should be an interesting battle. Shinji/Sajin vs. Bambietta or 5 against 2 if Bambi’s crew supports her. It should be good as long as Sajin shows his new skills from Clifford and DOESN’T go Bankai. Considering Bambietta is a walking Ultima machine, if Sajin goes Bankai, he loses so is time to support Shinji with his new skills and distract him while Shinji goes Hollow + Bankai.
Bach predicted the Shinigami to regain their Bankai eventually which begs the question, what was the point of the 1st invasion if they had the element of surprise there and could have killed even more people than just Yamamoto and Kira if they have gone Vollstandig the first time? Is strange…unless Aizen is behind this which he could be although at a low percentage.
Also, Askin left the premises as we see Mayuri and Kisuke working on Mayuri’s secret room, LOL!

However, this is when re-enforcements arrive, we have more Captains - some of which haven’t shown off their bankai or their new swag (the dog did nothing yet after training and recieving a gift). Also, this is when they go all ‘absorby like’ - its their strongest form, but its not an ‘I Win’ button. Honestly, they fit RIGHT in the range of Kenpachi’s strength…just raw strength killing them. I expect to see him skewer several Quincys again…
Good chapter. Glad to see Shinji appearing. Buckethead returns (with the upgraded bucket). Hopefully this time he can be the unjobber for 1 battle or at least unjobber support to Shinji with the gifts he’s received.
So Bach took bankai in the first invasion and did as much damage as he could while gauging the powers of the Gotei 13, then unleashes his forces who have mastered the bankai and then when they stole the bankai back knowing they would rely on it he has them unleash there potential before the STRONGEST return. Smart plan but if 1 vizard is there the others are aswell which may backfire if there is some ANTI-HOLLOW TECH. I also expect to see the other captains come in and unleash hell on the Quincies.
I could see the plan of hollifying the bankai backfire especially if the Quincies got that anti Hollow tech. That just turns a 1 turn Install into a Super effective counter attack by the Quincies. What if Bach predicted that so he would have advantages against them all? Bach is starting to really show me he is battle genius for sure if he did his research on them to this level.
Also at this point Renji should/is Captain level he should be a new Captain after this war period. Only mentioning this because .1 Ichigo called so all of them are about to show up more than likely or at least he is going to ask they Captains to stall so he can solo all the Quincies and then sandbag Ishida. 2. Renji has Bankai (probably has it with his new sword aswell) 3. Renji has consistently shown to be a good fighter even going toe to toe with ichigo 4. Increased reitsu due to training. 5. Renji is more then likely going to show up and handle some Quincies himself solo. 6. If Hitsugaya or Soi Fan get killed off then 2 open spots are available so it would make sense.
In all honesty F all this nonsense I just want to see what Bankai Ichigo and Renji have now. All that other can wait. Ichigo better be on some str8 G shit or I will be HOT. Nigga got 2 swords now and has this all subtle angry emo shit going on, he better just walk in there assassinate a nigga (quincy) and move onto the next without a word.

I figured it wouldn’t matter that they got their Bankai back. They couldn’t win with them before, so what’s the difference now? Toshiro was only that powerful because his Bankai was hollowfied. They’re all about to get bodied regardless.
Urahara said two chapters ago that Quincies can’t even hollowfy like a Shinigami and also that, “Everything composing a Hollow is poison for a Quincy.”
Does Volstanding + reishi slavery simply ignore the rule that says Hollow stuff = Quincy poison?
So the Quincy can’t steal Resurreccions, but they have a technique that lets them absorb Hollows out of existence such that they take on the appearance of said Hollows? Say what?

Which all falls apart on the fact that they’re only gone for a week. The captains have all had their bankais for years if not centuries (baring kenpachi as it isn’t known if he even has bankai yet). 1 week of training isn’t going to make them that much stronger.
Also so Soifon is one of their strongest fighters? Hitsu? Byakuya? Hitsu and Byakuya are mid tier as best. Soifon is bottom tier as it gets. If the remaining captains all went to the spirit realm or whatever and trained there for a week then maybe.
Yamamoto and his Lieutenant died. I’m sorry, I must’ve been absent when the Captain Commander became Jobber tier.
As for your second comment, that’s void when you realize how much stronger they became in their default forms. Soi Fon took Shunkou to another level, Toshiro actually learned new ways to use his Ice other than throw a lot of it at his opponent. Sajin went directly to his ancestors to get out of jobber tier. Also, the Soul Society learned from Ichigo that you can do a lot in a little amount of time. Remember, in a week Ichigo went from Shikai with no powers that was barely in Ikkaku/Renji tier, to getting a Bankai and defeating Byakuya. Bach is not an idiot. He knows damn well that his opponents could grow exponentially stronger within a limited amount of time. So he takes the risk out of it.
For a series that has long given us arrogant opponents constantly underestimating their enemies it’s refreshing to see a Villain take PRECAUTIONS against all possibilities. It’s not Aizen-tier Keikaku, but it doesn’t need to be. Instead it’s a Xanatos Gambit/Option-Select. If they can’t take their Bankais back they’ve already won with ease. If they can, they haven’t gotten any stronger and his army can unleash its full power.
Dog was technically awesome right up until the point he lost his helmet for the first time, now that hes got it back I bet his power has been kaio kenned a good bit.

Buckethead will always be a jobber. Best part about buckethead was that he wasn’t phased by the transformation.
Renji’s been captain level since he got Bankai. So techinically midway through SS arc. He just sucks. (and unless his bankai got an upgraded version, he’ll still be jobber status after 1 battle.)

Meh, I think from a ‘skill’ stand point Renji and Ichigo are more than likely on similar footing, especially as non-magic users - Ichigo just blows him at the water from a power level stand point - like some Krilin/Goku shit, take away the whole Sayijin thing and they would have been pretty even into DBZ…but Goku got dem DNA power-ups.
Renji also got setup with a HORRIBLE bankai. If he’s lucky, when the shit is reforged it will turn into a bat…it owuld be more effective.
