Shinji’s shikai is ridiculous, but only once it takes affect. I can think of a few things to counter it -
- hold your breath/kill him quickly before it takes into affect
- water/ice to freeze the mist/lock it in water/etc
- Wind
- Things so you don’t have to see to fight/attack. The Tousen comes to mind. CC’s shadow attack probably (he doesn’t have to move necessarily, just teleport).
With that said, if you don’t know his abilities, you’re screwed within the first sniff.

If someone has never seen Shinji’s shikai, they would think him spinning the sword starts the effect. Then they get a nose full of “oh what the fuck is going on man?!?!?” and then its too late, Shinji is just hanging upside down.
I don’t know if you were being serious with my list. While I’m sure I’m missing a few, but her AOE blast means she doesn’t have to see for it to hit enemies. Which falls into number 5.

the classic mistake of 1 character blabbing about what his power does…AGAIN. The shit is hilarious…c’mon, Shinji, why did you not learn? The element of surprise is one of the strongest assets you can have in any battle/warfare scenario. With a power like that, your opponent should be bleeding out on the ground, taking his or her last breaths of air when they finally start to figure out what just happened.
I think he can pick and choose who’s affected by it.
Hitsu was directly in the area, but he wasn’t affected. It was only backwards for Aizen (Momo?).
the irony about that, it let Aizen see what was behind him. It would be great for Shinji if he could affect himself to get a permanent understanding of ‘everything around him’…\

As for Aizen, I don’t recall the battle, but I thought Aizen didn’t get used to it, he was an illusion the whole time.
Ironically shinji has the trump card of being part hollow all he has to do is attack her in hollow form or even get his blood on her and she is pretty much almost dead

It isn’t clear what would happen with hollow mode Shinji vs the quincy they’re fighting. Kirge used some Volstanding technique in HM that straight up absorbed Ayon. We talked about it on the last page.
He lost because his spirit crumbled once he realized Ichigo’s speed prevented him from switching between the blut defense tech and the blut offense tech. And then he got sniped by Urahara.
Kirge was able to absorb Ayon to augment his power:
All of this contradicts the Hollows = Quincy poison statement. What Urahara said and what Kirge did here don’t jive. Kirge had absorbed Ayon and got a buff from its power. Kirge was even damaged while he was in that hollow-buffed mode (shot through the chest actually) and was still able to get up and put Ichigo in the prison. I mean, how are hollows supposed to be this super effective poison to Quincies when homeboy just casually absorbs an Arrancar, gets damaged while in that form, and is still able to get up? You’d think that after getting shot by Urahara while in Quallow mode he would’ve just exploded, like Baxter Stockman Tousen. But nope. Urahara also said Quincies couldn’t hollowfy, but Kirge did, sort of.
Sklavere is a technique that enslaves reiatsu making the Quincy it’s controller. Kirge did get affected but remember, Masaki got bitten by White while in Blut Vene defense and it took days to weeks for the Hollow virus/poison to affect her. It wasn’t immediate.
Also, Kirge used the Rasotengai technique to resurrect himself after Kisuke blasted that hole in his body. Think SF3 Gill.
As why Kirge took the image of Allon after the absorption, I have no idea. The only thing he said was that he didn’t want to use that technique 'cause it infected his holy wings with evil.
