Aizen destroyed the Kototsu in Dangai . We all know the implications of what coming into contact with the Kototsu would do.
Isshin said it would throw a person centuries off its axis in time. All it did to Aizen was push him off course alittle bit. Anytime spiritual energies encounter eachother it’s suppose to be a battle of reiastu, so i think Aizen just gives off this ability.
Another theory I have, is that it’s somehow apart of his bankai. I’ve long since pondered why we have never seen his bankai. And i remember when ichigo went in depth with his bankai. You remember the business with his cloak. I thought maybe other captins have subtle telling to the state of their bankai. Aizen goes thru a few costume changes, but I’m most focused on his hair. We know his shikai is based off an “illusion” property. So maybe his bankai is more of a passive ability that takes it a step further. Time and space distortion. It could also explain why he was smirking when banished to 20000 years. That might not be alot of time to him…
the past few days of going through these past posts have made me rethink that whole “perception of time” bit bach brought up and makes me wonder why none of us questioned why Bach stated “time” instead of “senses” because you know…his shikai fucks with your 6 senses if you’ve seen it. (and last I checked, time isn’t anywhere near that.)
though I like your theory in the second paragraph. It also makes me think of after Ichigo and Aizen fight and Ichigo’s going on about how Aizen got bored with the gift he had and once he had finally found someone equal on his footing, he basically gave up. I’ve been questioning this whole dialogue for awhile and couldn’t really piece where it was trying to go. But your paragraph somewhat aligns with what Ichigo’s trying to explain. So…hyperbolic time chamber Ichigo levels up 39423049234 levels where time and space don’t affect said gateway and now he pops out all SS+ tier where Aizen is just S tier until the ho-ho-Q started buffing him to stay on par.

As explained, in this battle, the Fullbringers and the Hollows should have a better advantage than the non Vizard Shinigami. Grimmjow, Neliel and Halibel once freed could wreck shop. It should be cool to see them and the Vizards get the spotlight for once instead of the same lame assholes like Hitsugaya.
Also, if I’m Bach, I go right there where Mayuri and Kisuke are right now, kill them both myself and I basically win the war against the Gotei. 2 scientists down including the smartest, 2 remaining in Aizen and Shutara.

I cannot believe how little communication goes on in the Gotei. If that sunflower dude knew all of this, why didn’t he tell anyone? and that vice captain protecting One-Eyed Jack? Had a great barrier spell but kept it to herself. WHY? If this were a real army it would have crumbled ages ago.
