I can’t quite figure out what happened to him at the end of the chapter. He wasn’t cut in half since his sheath and coat are still in one piece, from the back.
Hitsugaya is about to get killed by the Quincy who stole his Bankai.
Urahara just so manages to come up with a way to their Bankais back in the same chapter.

I don’t know if she really kept them to herself, but rather that she is either one of a few capable of even using them or that she didn’t have enough time to teach everyone. There’s a good chance she had that Sakura thing going on where she had just finished conceptualizing the kidou shortly before the second invasion. Do <3 me some Nanao, though…good to see her get some burn.

I would be surprised if Hitsugaya comes back after this.
His sword got destroyed when Bazz-B finished him. I don’t remember but Byakuya was defeated but his sword suffered no damage. And even if somehow someone comes to help him, there are 2 Quincies vulturing around his corpse.
Hitsugaya is done.

I dunno, from a practicality standpoint I agree with you, but she knows the situation they’re in and knows that bluffing won’t really get her anywhere. To be honest, I’m sure dude even knew the answer already and just asked the question to rhetorically shift to the exploding captain in the background.

I checked the Byakuya fight and meh…
Hitsugaya has VERY LOW odds but he still has a chance to live. As Nodt broke Byakuya’s sword in the fight as well and Byakuya still lives. Granted, Byakuya was saved by the Royal Guard medic after the Quincy retreated to the Shadow Realm. Hitsugaya has no such luxury as the Quincy already transported their realm to Seiretei so there is no chance of a regrouping save for him plus unlike Byakuya, Bazz-B and Cang Du are vulturing and with all the intent to kill him.
Hitsugaya’s only chance to survive this is literally Inoue and for Inoue to restore him, she needs two Upper Mid-Top Tier fighters to defeat two Quincies that are very strong in base and haven’t even gone Vollstandig yet.
Not good at all for Hitsugaya.
