I honestly have to read the chapter again but, I’m pretty sure kubo showed the top half of his face
I remember the issue pretty well and don’t remember any indicator of who was the mystery figure that appeared. It was SRK who speculated it was Grimmjow, not the issue.
That’s funny because Ulquiorra is one of my favorite villains… (Hecatom is gonna tear me a new one for that 
) I wasn’t talking about him, though, I was talking about Hollow Ichigo.
I feel like what we’ve seen isn’t Ichigo’s Bankai… How could he even have one? It was said that his previous “Bankai” wasn’t even a Bankai. It’s supposed to take a long ass time to learn it, and then another long ass time to master it. He hasn’t trained yet with these swords. It just doesn’t make sense… For the record, I don’t expect Zaraki to pop up with a Bankai either for the same reason.
A part of me wants and believes his real Bankai is going to take a form similar to this:
That said, how does his hollow mask play into this now? Does it continue to manifest the same as before, somehow taking the form above, or is his hollow fully represented in the sword now?

Also Kubo pretty much said that grimmjaw was still alive. Because it was never stated he was dead anyway (but it was that kubo mixup of, “never seen again so they’re dead” thought.)
It’s really a dead giveaway. You don’t really need a indication outside the fact they had beef during the espada chapter.
I’m still extremely upset that my favorite Espada is locked up, probably being defiled by a bunch of asshat Quincy with a thing for big breasts, dark skin, and an ice-cold personality.
