Doubt it. Ichigo’s swords are actually both unique, but their’s aren’t unique.

Ukitake’s Shikai functions and Shunsui’s Shikai ability to merge into the shadows just like the Quincies are some interesting coincidences.
Another coincidence is their dual wielder abilities, which now Ichigo possess as well through his Quincy heritage.
There must be something more to it plus the whole Ukitake saying to Shunsui to not use his Bankai in FKT where everyone can see it rings suspicious.
I actually think you are just reading too much into that (the shadows).
As for the bankai, it more than likely leaves him extremely weakened. It wouldn’t surprise me if him being sick for the first part of the series was tied to use of his bankai.

I also think Shunsui doesn’t want them to show all their cards yet. My impression is he likes to keep things secret either so they don’t rely on it or (more likely) the enemies don’t know their full abilities
Why would they care? Their enemies never live, except for Aizen.
They may not want to be dependent on it like Toshiro and Ichigo.
I think that is because outside the people who use their bankais on regular basics, the others put a lot of strain in their bodies, it was already explained that the bankai consumes a lot of reiatsu so they usually are a last resource thing for everyone.
All the people who use their bankai more regularly have bankais that are not mature enough or doesn’t have too many negative side effects, Add that all of them are usually the younger bankai users.
Another thing could be that their bankais are very destructive like we saw with Yamamoto and Unohana.
Perhaps the only 2 that have been show to be capable to use their bankais without any sort of drawback are Byakuya and Ichigo.
That’s actually a damn good point, the old heads all keep their’s under lock and key. And I mean look at the OG Kenpachi…her’s basically killed everyone including her.
Wolfface bankai just outright sucks…but it still makes him a target. Shunsui’s is a dangerous game that he could lose. B becomes a sitting target while trying to control the petals more. The lezbo assassain who get’s beat by everyone uses a ton of energy…the person to use bankai the most…was Ichigo…

given what we know now, is that really his bankai? or was it more of a release of his quincy powers? remember not only did byakuya think it was odd given it’s tiny size, but it’s also the only bankai that didn’t come with any type of new attack, we know the black getsuga was just him encorporating the hollows powers into the attack… then given the way he further powered up to final getsuga… just feels quincy-ish. I’m really hoping that it turns out he hasn’t been using his bankai at all.
Markudea pointed out that the the clothes are just Ichigo’s new regular clothes.
As for the bankai, like i have previously said, the manga has been clear in that it was a bankai, that Ichigo used his own shinigami powers the major part of the time, is just that it was a tiny portion of it, if you look carefully through the manga, every time that he learned something about his shinigami powers, old zangetsu always summoned the hollow, add that the hollow also uses Getsuga Tenshou, to the point that he claims that it was his tech to begin with.
I also doubt that FGT is a quincy tech, like the other instances, Old Zangetsu used Hollow Zangetsu to teach Ichigo about it. Add that his father also has the same tech, and he didn’t bat an eyelash at seeing the effects of it.
I feel that the only instances when Ichigo used Quincy tech were those who kubo showed on the panel on the 1st and 2nd page.
I somewhat agree…though I think no matter where the tech originated from, there’s always been quincy mixed in - I think the overall heavy use of black - as opposed to his dad who he’s seemed to be a copy of - who does everything in ‘white’. Add in the emphasis in the whole yin-yang color palette, the ‘Quincy shadow’ Shredder voice, and the language used by ‘Old Man’ - where he says he even let Ichigo use HIS power or something to that effect…I just think the blackness was quincy ‘powered’, though they were ALL his real tech.
So I guess moving forward despite having a new sword, Ichigo is actually STILL going to do the same move with the big sword, his new ‘small’ sword will invite some new tech - with this being a shonen - prolly just one move heh - and with you guys pointing out that small swords are usually for defense - it might be some kind of defensive ability theory of course

He’s gonna do his regular Getsuga Tensho spam with the large sword, fight normally with the smaller sword, and combine them both to form a bow which will fire flaming white arrows for his Bankai.
Pretty much. He acquires more skills than a Sharingan user.

You can bet your ass that it will be animated, but i assume that the anime producers were tired to be left like jackasses by puting halfassed fillers in the middle of a fight for example 
At this point i think that they are letting Bleach rest before starting some new series, if they didn’t ended it after ginjo we will be in the middle of some subpar filler right now.
Looks like I was wrong on that once, I could have sworn Ukitake had two seperate swords before his Shikai.
Well, we never really see him fight anyways. At first I thought people were referring to his sealed sword as well, not in the Shikai form. IMO, Shikai has some diversity already (Byakuya doesn’t have 1 sword but countless little petals to kill you with!). It’s not that big of a deal to have dual wielding. Really unique to see double swords in sealed form though. That’s only Shinsui so far.
I haven’t watched since Ichigo fought Ulquiorra…how is this series still going? Do they keep revealing (as antagonists) more and more powerful groups/societies that have always been around, but everybody is still surprised at hearing about, as if for the first time? Or are they going farther and farther back in time with flash(step)back seasons?
I think what makes Shinsui and Ukitake specials is not that they are dual wielding, is that their zanpakutos are 2 spirits, like Ichigo
That is why Hisagi doesn’t count, because his zanpakuto maybe is released on a dual wielding weapon, but it only has one spirit.
Only Shinsui, Ukitake and now Ichigo have twin spirits as manifestation of their soul as zanpakutos
