His previous Bankai was lack luster too… Everyone else got this big flashy shit, and all ichigo got was a smaller sword.

It was, a gimped bankai, but a bankai nonetheless, i actually expect that the bankai will keep with what we have seen so far, a daito and a kodashi plus some type of pimp coat and hopefully a mask.
But that is just me.

BTW, Ukitake joined Ryuuken in possible training coaches for Ichigo in the future.
Ryuuken in all things Quincy plus more history bits for Ichigo about mother and Bach.
Ukitake and not Shunsui because besides being a dual wielder, Ukitake’s Shikai abilities resemble a Quincy in the absorb and redirect skill much like the Quincy do with reiatsu.
Now watch as Ichigo looks for Ukitake and finds out Ginjou killed him. 
This last arc will last a while.

What is up with same day spoilers in thread titles? Fortuately I read the chapter before leaving for work but if I hadn’t I would have been spoiled. The same garbage happened with the last episode of Young Justice.

I think on him, it might look a bit odd to carry two swords. If I were him, I’d prefer a sealed form and it happens to be a big ass sword still that he lugs around on his back.
It seems odd this is his shikai/bankai when the last chapter showed one large (not super big, but still large) sword. Will he have 2 swords for his shikai and then 1 for his bankai? Hmm… I was picturing him to put the two ends of the handles together to make a type of bow so he can shoot energy blasts (quincy + fire + cero + unibeam) maybe.
I get why he’s fire, but it seems odd to link him to an element now. With so many sources he’s getting power ups from, it made sense he just has pure energy shooting from every pore of his body rather than fire/water/ice/etc.
Edit: Not that it matters, but I always had a suspicion he’d dual wield. It was weird how they brought it up, like it was very unique (even though 3 people already had it before him) and elite. Plus he can have the Quincy blood activated both at the same time since he has 2 swords?
LOL. Knowing Ichigo and Kubo, His swords probably have some sort of low-jack installed. You steal his swords and the handles will blow your hand off blade style.
Also, I’m wondering which sword will be the one that fires the arrows? I’m betting on the little one, but not a whole lot of money is going into that. It might be both of them combining to do the shot, but I don’t think Kubo is gonna get rid of Getsuga Tenshou so soon.
Also, I want to see the new upgrade(s?) Ken has now. I’m just waiting for the point when he says those two little words…
